Vergil and Dante had a secret language that they made when they were very small children. It absolutely perplexed Sparda and Eva, who would watch the boys talk — and argue — in what seemed to be complete gibberish at the dinner table. It took them a while, but they eventually realized that they were actually communicating with one another when the boys would respond to those made up words with actions.

While he’s unsure if Dante still retains that language, Vergil most definitely does ... it’s never left him, even in his pursuit of other knowledge.

What if Vergil Stays for Nero

Spardaverse Week Day 1 - Prompt : First Meetings

Some physical clues that differentiate Vergil from his brother — aside from their height, dress and hair:

Vergil is much paler than Dante, almost like a sheet of paper. His skin tone isn’t warm at all, and you can see several of his veins on his arms. If you were to somehow successfully fluster him, he’d become tomato-colored.

His cheekbones and jawline are sharper than his brother’s. His features are also slightly sunken. But he still retains somewhat of a baby-faced, youthful look.

The bridge of Vergil’s nose is slightly crooked ( but noticeable, if you’re keen-eyed ) due to Dante smashing him in the face with a hefty book when they were children, and Vergil not setting it right before his healing factor kicked in. He has yet to get it smashed in again to fix it.

Vergil takes good care of his nails. They’re long enough to leave a considerable mark, but well rounded.
