Artist Paints the Universe and Nature into Black Women’s Hair

Pierre Jean-Louis is a multimedia artist based in New York and Philadelphia, who has built up quite a social media following as a result of his unique works. Jean-Louis paints mystical images of the universe and nature onto images of Black women’s natural hair. His intricate works feature flowers, vines, and even an entire forest, all seamlessly woven into coils and kinks. Jean-Louis even invites his followers to tag him in their photos on Instagram so that he can consider their portraits as well.

there’s a lot of unspoken pressure to keep liking the things you used to like and to keep dressing the way you’ve always dressed and to never question what you believe in and basically “be yourself” has slowly morphed into “be what everyone knows you as” but trust me when i say if you just give it up and simply make decisions and take actions based purely on what would make you happy, you’ll gain a very comforting sense of self peace

Oh my god, so many geeky things about me. Generally geeky, I mean I geek out about baseball. My two favorite things are baseball and The X-Factor. I don’t know. I’m a huge Star Wars geek, I’m a huge everything geek.

what she means: “olivia from the 2006 hit ‘she’s the man’ was blatantly in love with viola, not sebastian, yes a part of her fell for the lyrics that sebastian wrote, but olivia fell for “sebastian” the most in moments where viola was letting her guard down and expressing her true self, also olivia specifically said that she was physically attracted to “sebastian’s” facial features.

iit makes no sense for olivia to completely disregard all of her feelings, even if they were confusing, for viola the moment she revealed that she had been pretending to be her brother.

I’m sure ten years down the line olivia will be in an unsatisfying marriage with sebastian having long realised her true feelings was and is for viola and there’s always a lot of tension at family get togethers, especially when they drink wine together in the kitchen.”

By request here are all my Disney Princess warrior drawings. The only one missing from this line up is the Cinderella drawing…only because Tumblr has a limit to how many pics can be in a post ;P.

I know people have been requesting princesses that they feel are missing from this series. At this time I have so many other things on my plate I can’t say when I will be motivated to draw more Disney princess warriors. So for now this is it. :)
