it rankled, although not so much as the immenent death of her soldiers.
“mother thinks i ought to attend. to reassure people, you know, that the witch is truly gone.”
DG hesitated to answer. Azkadellia seemed unhappy, and DG wasn’t sure whether it was about this soldier being executed or about the prospect of attending the execution. It could even be a bit of both, but DG didn’t know enough about her sister’s loyal men individually to be sure.
“There are other ways to reassure the people, I’m sure, if you don’t want to.” she offered at last. “Is it an order or a request?”
