[⚡] “O-Oh, oh, um…”

A simple kiss was all it would be. But there was that fear of what if Kris didn’t like it? What if the Riolu didn’t approve of the kiss? Sure they had flirted before, but surely that didn’t mean that they liked–

…. The Fighting-type couldn’t really have actually liked me right? No, no, surely not…

But liking or not, the dare needed to be completed so–

Here went nothing.

Approaching the jackal, I gave them a quick kiss on the cheek before pulling away.

Kris blushed a bit before smiling a bit. They decided to respond by kissing the Pikachu on the nose, kneeling down to be closer to eye level with Rey as they did so. If they were being honest, they kinda did like the Pikachu. Kris could feel a strong light inside of his heart.

Kris’ tail began to unconsciously wag like an excited puppy’s a small blush appearing on the lightener’s muzzle.

The blue Espewott was running on all fours, his eyes pure, bright yellow with no pupils, his normally bright blue fur darker than usual, and his hands showing sharp claws. He's become a demon due to his own SOUL, which had turned pure black with a dark aura, and needs to be freed from his tainted self.

Kris stared at the Espewott, pulling out their shield in defense as they braced themselves for an attack. They hadn’t seen a creature like this before. Though they had rules to keep, ACT, and FIGHT only when absolutely needed. They hoped that they could get through this peacefully, but if it was going to be like with the Chaos King, then they’d retaliate.

The items actually worked, healing him, though the act of healing made him very confused. “…what game are you playing at? Why did you heal my wound?” While he’s no longer blinded by rage and hatred, it’s clear that the Espewott still doesn’t trust the Riolu despite the latter’s act of kindness to the former.

They just offered their paw, smiling. Kris was sparing him. Their main way of communication in their own world was through dialogue boxes. Other than that, body movements, and messy handwriting, they were completely silent.

Kris began falling like the last time they entered the Dark World, though something odd began to happen. It felt like they were being pulled in multiple directions at once. After a moment, the feeling stopped, and the next thing they knew, they were falling through a bright blue sky, a large landmass below them. However, they didn’t have time to process it before they crashed into the ground with a thundering boom, dust flying everywhere from the impact.

They looked at their stats and... Holy crap. They only had 7 HP left! They just let out a sigh before sitting against a tree. Though they had noticed that they weren’t a human anymore, now a Riolu, they couldn’t find the energy to care right now... They just felt really weak... They began to daydream, time passing by until they heard someone approaching.

If it could be believed, the creature didn’t want to fight. In fact, deep down, he needs to be saved. However, his SOUL would not go down without a fight and goes to attack with sharp slashes of his claws, four single slashes and then a dual slash with both hands.

“You’ll feel the wrath of my rage! I’m not about to let some Riolu walk over me! Everyone always went behind my back and betrayed me, I’m gonna kill you before you do the same!!” His body’s voice was demonic with his words being laced with venom. However, there may be a clue here to save him.

Kris dodged the blows with practiced leaps, landing on their feet as they decided to hold off attacking for a bit longer. They would’ve attempted to reason with the Espewott, if not for the fact they couldn’t speak. And they assumed that, like everyone else in this world, he wouldn’t be able to see their dialogue boxes or menus.

The silence and swift dodges made Felix angrier and he went after Kris, but he’s unable to attack for some reason. He then unknowingly reveals a huge wound on his chest and he grasps it tightly. “Rrrrgh…not now…” He was in deep pain, temporarily causing him to stop his would-be assault on the Riolu.

Kris blinked when they saw the wound and walked over, getting a Dark Candy and a Revive Mint out of their inventory before holding them towards the Espewott. They hoped that their items work in this world on other Pokemon the same way it does on them.

Kris smiled and nodded in response, looking at the Pikachu. If they were being honest, they quite liked being in this world. And even if they didn’t, they couldn’t find any way to leave anyway so it didn’t matter.

Right now, they were just content hugging Rey.

[⚡] Little paws wrapped around the Riolu, thus returning the hug the Fighting-type had given earlier. Truthfully, the puppy was a very good friend. Despite the such short amount of time that the jackal had been here, it felt like they had been here for much longer.

Kris was already like a best friend. No, in fact they were a best friend.

Kris just let themselves relax while hugging their friend. Though after a while they let out a silent yawn, the Riolu beginning to fall asleep from how comfortable they were getting.

(liightener) [ACT -> Flirt] Kris decided to just do their usual finger gun at the Pikachu with hearts flying up, since they were unable to speak and they don't think he can read, or even see, their dialogue boxes.

[⚡] The Pikachu’s eyes widened at the action. He had seen it a few times around the town when Pokemon were trying to flirt with each other or hit on one another. Rey’s face turned a shade of red, as he fumbled over his words.

“A-Are you flirting with me?” he squeaked out.

They gave a small grin before moving over and sitting down next to the Pikachu. This would be… difficult without the ability to speak. They couldn’t even ask for a paper or pencil to communicate with.

[⚡] He didn’t mind that Kris sat down next to him. He enjoyed the Riolu’s company even if they couldn’t talk. But he didn’t mind that at all. He was slowly beginning to understand what the jackal was trying to tell him through body movements.

He really needed to learn sign language or something. That would make moments like this easier…

“So, um… Now what do we do?”

Kris just shrugged, not really sure themselves. If they were being honest, Kris never even got the basics of sign language down. It just wasn't in their personal interests. Though they just hugged the Pikachu after they responded, smiling.

Kris smiled and took the paw, shaking it. They were the sort that wanted to be friends with everyone they could. … Man, Ralsei had rubbed off on them. They decided to give the Pikachu a gift, opening their menus. “Thank goodness these still work,” they thought, before having a Dark Candy materialize in their paw, holding it out towards the Pikachu, hoping they’d like the marshmallow taste it has.

[⚡] Surprise and confusion washed over the Pikachu’s face as he watched Kris pull out what looked to be candy. Though it was unlike any that he had seen before. Nor the fact how they made it appear seemingly out of thin air. Rey took the offered treat from them, sniffing at it curiously, before he took a bite out of it. Surprisingly, he found that he enjoyed it and it clearly showed as his face lit up.

Kris smiled as they got a Choco Diamond from their inventory, devouring it almost immediately after. They then looked back at the Pikachu and gave him a thumbs up. They'd have to explain their inventory and abilities to the Pikachu later. For now though, they just wanted to relax for a bit.

(liightener) Kris sat in front of the dungeon they'd landed in front of, their SOUL having been caged and tossed inside. "Heh... Don't worry 'Kris', I'll be fine," they said, spitting the name out with disgust. THEY were Kris, not that... thing. Their eyes glowed a bright red as they gazed into the labyrinth. Though they were unaware that Rey was approaching.

[⚡] Little paws thundered against the ground as I made my way to the dungeon. It was close by the town and easy enough to get through. It was for beginners, those just starting out in the rescue business. I wished I had a partner or two with me, it would make things a lot easier. Maybe I wouldn’t have been so fearful of things if I had others with me.

No one else wanted to take the job and all the other ones were too dangerous for a lone Pokemon to go on by themselves. I had to do Rank E missions just to get anything done around the Guild. Maybe someone would join me on Team Radiance.

…Then again, it couldn’t really be a team with only me on it. But it was the name I at least had in mind for whenever the day came that I was able to make a team for myself. I just hoped I’d find the right Pokemon soon.

I wanted to ask if anyone wanted to join me, sure. But due to my crippling shyness, amenity, timidness, and everything else, I never could work up the courage.

One day… One day hopefully soon…

As I approached the dungeon, I spotted a familiar looking Riolu standing just outside of it. Though what was odd was that little red heart was out. Kris had called that their soul if I recalled correctly. But why was it out and caged like that?

“Hello, Kris.” I lifted a wave, waving at the Fighting-type as I made my way over to them. I felt a bit comfortable around them since I got to know them some so that helped all my problems from earlier. “Um, not to be rude…. But what are you doing out here?”

Kris jumped a bit, looking over at the Pikachu, their eyes glowing from under their mess of hair. “Oh! I uhh… I was planning on… getting some…” Whatwasitcalled- “Experience. Maybe pick up an item or two on the way.” Kris just hoped that Rey wouldn’t mention the SOUL trapped in the birdcage. It was the first time controlling their own body in ages. They felt great!

If “Kris” was so eager to take that from them, then surely it could find it’s way out of the cage. After all, that’s what it felt like to Kris: being trapped in a cage.

[⚡] The glowing red eyes was a little concerning admittedly. That wasn’t there before was it? And hold on a minute… Did they just speak? They never spoke before! And all this time I thought they were mute. Perhaps they just didn’t like to talk a whole lot? They sure seemed eager to speak now. How strange…

Of course I noticed the little red heart that was trapped in the cage close by. It was a glaring thing if I was being honest, but I didn’t think now was the time to speak up about it. Kris probably had a good reason for it, right? Still, it was something to talk about later.

“O-Oh, I see… Are you planning on going into that dungeon then? I was heading there myself too…” I cleared my throat, lifting a paw to touch the scarf. “We could go together if you want?”

Kris nodded, eager to get away from the SOUL that was still recovering from being thrown into the cage. "Yes, perfect! That'd be great." As they approached the Pikachu, the red heart slammed into the side of the cage, almost knocking it over.

"So you're still so determined... Aren't you..." Kris thought to themselves, growling a bit. "C'mon, we should probably go," they suggested, trying to hide their anger as much as possible. Using the majority of their strength to keep themselves from just outright attacking the SOUL.

[⚡] There was a startled squeak at the sudden hug. It was like being hugged by a Bewear. Tight, but not certain death like the bear would give. What could have caused this? Did Kris just feel like giving their friend a hug? It did seem like the thing that they would do.

“O-Oh, um, hey, Kris… You’re awful huggy today, huh…?”

Kris smiled and nodded in response, looking at the Pikachu. If they were being honest, they quite liked being in this world. And even if they didn't, they couldn't find any way to leave anyway so it didn't matter.
