so long (and thanks for all the fish)
Well, it’s that time.
When I started writing WTNC nearly 2 years ago, I didn’t think in a million years it would turn out like this. I never thought I’d have invested readers, or make friends with fellow writers. I think back on how drastically my life has changed from starting this fic and I’m just so happy to say I’ve finished it. There was a good chunk of time where it just sat in limbo and I really didn’t think it would ever get finished.
I also never thought I’d start and finish other projects. Youth Decay is the project I’m most proud of. That was a true ‘passion project’ for me, if that’s not too pretentious to say. I wrote that for no other reason than pure enjoyment, and it’s something I come back to often when I’m feeling down. To anyone who read and reviewed it: thank you so much. It was experimental and unrefined and emotionally draining, so I appreciate anyone who took a chance on it.
This site introduced me to some incredible talent. Like. I’m honestly in awe of some of you. I was a silent reader for a long time before I ever got a tumblr, and then when I started writing my own fic I realised how hard it is to write and put out content. Not just that, but it really leaves you vulnerable and you need a certain kind of bravery to put your words out there for public consumption. So to all you rockstars: you are so, so talented. Each and every single one of you.
I’ve had a great experience here. It’s been a real pleasure to write and read and interact with everyone. I’ll leave this blog up so my fics will still be accessible, and maybe I’ll check up on my inbox every so often, but this is officially goodbye.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
