Isabela laughed with him, covering her face with a hand, sliding down the wall to sit on the floor to catch her breath.
âYou caught me!,â she chuckled, âIâm running off to Antiva to find him and we shall consumate our bond by going on a romantic assassinating spree.â
Jowan slid down to sit beside her, laughing as he did. âYou will slay all the evil money grubbing land owners, giving part of the proceeds to the poor and had a romantic escape into the waking sea, where you plunder and sing songs of everlasting love!â He wiped tears of laughter, still not able to keep a straight face while looking at her. âMaker, it sounds like one of Varricâs novels.â
âOh no. For it to be a Varric Tethras novel, there must be a heaping dose of debauchery.â She crawled over, settling on his lap, legs straddling him on either side. She leaned closer, toying with his hair. âSauciness sells after all. Remember, Iâm his chief editor.â
âAnything with you in the story would be saucy.â Jowan said with a kiss on her cheek. âDebauchery and swashbuckling. Itâs an idea.â
"It is," she whispered, her breath fanning over his ear, "but I prefer unswashing my buckles. How do you like that idea?"

Isabela mirrored him, leaning on the wall and folding her arms. âRainbows shooting out his arse? You must be thinking of âgood King Cailanâ. Or an Orlesian. Or a powerful elfroot trip.â She chuckled, reveling the sheer ludicrousy of gossiping about an old lover to her current one.
âZevranâs an elf. Really tall for one though, youâd never know until you saw the ears. Cheeky, like you. And blonde, very very blonde. He got by on his extraordinarily good luck and by his charm. I was appreciative of both since it helped dispose of my late husband,â she said lightly.
âA lucky elf i can see.â He sobered somewhat at the rest of her description. âGood looking and charming and a good man, if he help rid the world of that man.â Jowan gave her a look, âand this is the part were we find out that was the love of your life and how you miss him.â he continued in the high pitched tone, pressing his hands together like a maiden in one of Varricâs novels. âOh and how one day, under the full antivan moon you shall be together forever!â he could barely finish without bursting out into loud raucous laughter.

She punched his shoulder, scrunching her nose. âAny more of that voice and Iâll knee YOU in the groin so it stays that way,â she threatened laughingly. She then tapped his lips, pursing her own in thought. âWell now, Zevran has the pouty lips going for him. Poutier than yours by far.â
