To answer your question about lolita; apparently the community DESPISES being sexualized in any form. As someone who likes it admittedly partly for fetish reasons but also closeted hyper-femme trans reasons, I see SO MANY ABDL/sissy/DDLG DNIs. Now if people don't like it it's whatever, and not wanting your pictures used for captions is understandable, but it's always weirded me out how vehemently anti-fetish the community is. Especially since, as you pointed out, there is a LOT of crossover.

I appreciate your insights here! I'm not super clued in to how certain communities feel on topics – not only because there's only so much time to explore the world, but also because I find the us-versus-them type of thinking that often manifests in these types of communities a bit repellent.

I still ask the question: so why not adapt Lolita fashion into ageplay and kink? No one "owns" a fashion or aesthetic. Adaptation and borrowing are the rule in cultural forms, not the exception. So sure, while it might not be the case that an age player would be comfortable attending Lolita meetups, etc., there's no harm in showing up to a munch or AB/DL con in Lolita or Lolita-inspired clothes, right?
