Wow, back from the break. It's 2026 and I just came back to this account. I've grown so much since I made this account. I started in 2021 when I was a high school loser. Now I'm a loser with a BA in Classical Studies, getting my Masters so I can torture new students with Latin which I have a love-hate relationship with.

โฐโโคDon't steal my works, don't post them outside of Tumblr, don't copy them, don't translate them. Likes, comments, reblogs are welcome. Thank youโก
remember they don't actually care about you, they just care to control your uterus. This is the "kindness" I get back for commenting reassuring words on a tiktok of a girl who regrets her abortion. I told her "The regret won't change anything now, don't punish yourself forever for making this decision โค๏ธI think it's okay and valid that you feel grief and regret, but it's not fair to say every woman who doesn't regret her abortion lives in a lie. It's certainly better to regret an abortion and grieve the loss than to regret having a child and having to live with the burden for the rest of your life"
She messaged me first, telling me not to tell her how she should feel (which part of my comment even suggested that I'm telling her how to feel? oh and apparently I can't "tell her how to feel" but she can tell me how to feel huh? fucking hypocrite with no compassion) because I've "never been through that" and when she found out I have actually been through that too, she told me it's murder. Bitch you murdered your baby too then now what LMAO
I'm starting to think this is actually just pro life dog whistle I fell for lol should've never interacted with her video but this is exactly how these fuckers groom girls and women, and brainwash them into guilt for making a decision we have every fucking right to make. Don't let anyone tell you how to feel or what decisions to make about your own body
And coming at me with that "you're a murderer" and "God bless you" bullshit? Yeah babe one of us ain't making it to Heaven and it ain't me
the one where you love your husband more than anything, want his children, want the life, all of it, and somehow the hardest part of starting a family is not the timing or the pressure, but the fact that you canโt imagine a day without drinking.
jack schlossberg x wife!reader
words count: 1.8k
authors note: this might or might not have been loosely inspired by me & my ex back when we were together. damn i miss him. anyway i wrote this instead of writing my thesis. i might be taking requests for more jack schlossberg x reader stuff, this is the first thing i've ever written about him
content warning: reader's alcoholism, mentions of god and religion, mentions of traditional roles
The first time he saw you like this, Jack didnโt think anything bad of your little habit. It was late, you were watching some show on the TV. It wasnโt abnormal to relax with a glass of wine. At that point in time, he wasnโt aware yet it was a much more frequent occurrence than youโd like to admit.
Everyone has vices, and as the average spoiled girl from a rich familyโyou had wine, like all the women in the generations before you. Not like you fit the image of an alcoholic, right? After all, alcohol never made you aggressive nor did you drink to black out. It was just a tool to relax. Yeah, some people didnโt drink at all, but all your life youโve been told God wouldnโt have made it if it were bad for you.
โDarling, Iโm home.โ Your husband, Jack, called out upon getting back from work.
You have only lived together for a few weeks, as living together before marriage wouldโve been outrageous among the society of the Upper East Side. Even in todayโs times there were people because of which the โtraditionalโ appearances had to be kept up. Nobody cares what goes on inside the house as long as the, certainly married, couple pretends nothing suspicious is going on.
He found you in the kitchen. With a glass of wine, naturally. It was the second time he saw you like this.
You immediately smiled at him. โHi, baby, how was work today?โ
He walked up to the stool you were sitting on by the kitchen counter and kissed you. It was a brief kiss, the one he always used to greet you with. You set the unfinished wine on the counter.
โLong,โ he said, exhaling softly as your delicate hands reached up to loosen his tie.
โOh, yeah?โ You pouted your lips, undoing the two first buttons of your husbandโs white shirt. โTell me more.โ
โMeetings stacked on meetings. I think I heard the same three sentences repeated for about six hours.โ
You hummed sympathetically. โThat sounds awful.โ
Jackโs gaze briefly drifted to the half empty wine bottle next to your glass. โYouโve been here all day?โ
โNo.โ Your response was so quick it could come off as defensive. โRan some errands after you left, but nothing half as exciting as your meetings.โ You giggled lightly, reaching back for your wineglass.
You didnโt notice the way Jackโs gaze followed your hand. There was a silent moment between the two of you as he pondered over how delicately you were holding the glass. You held it with a certain kind of tenderness, like it was the glassโs rightful place.
โWhat kind of errands?โ he asked eventually.
โUmm, you know,โ you hesitated, โbrunch with my mom. You know what sheโs like.โ
Oh, he knew. He knew all too well that even before you two got married, there wasnโt a week the woman didnโt talk about kids. The closer your wedding day was, the more freely she would mention her desire to become a grandmother. Now that you were married, she expected to receive the news any day.
Then, Jack said something you didnโt expect coming and frankly didnโt have an answer to. You would have preferred to be asked about children, at that moment.
โWhy are you drinking?โ
His question was the reason for another moment of silence, because what else could you say besides โbecause I like itโ? Except you were unable to say that, as even under the slight influence you knew how bad it sounded.
Were you ashamed of your little habit? Is that why youโve hidden it from Jack all this time? Perchance shame wasnโt exactly what you felt. Still in the back of your head there was this quiet little voice telling you this wasnโt a good habit. This wasnโt something to embrace.
โI donโt know.โ You admitted. โA little wine never hurt anyone, right?โ
A strange, guilty feeling settled in your gut when you heard a disappointed sigh coming from Jack. He didnโt let his worry show in the expression of his face. Instead he took the glass from your hand and put it back on the counter.
โBaby, this is another time Iโm seeing you drinking in a really short span of time,โ he took your hands in his, his touch delicate as if you were a doll he was afraid of breaking, โyou donโt need it. When was the last time, hm? Last Thursday?โ
โB-butโโ you wanted to argue, but he didnโt let you.
โYouโre not celebrating. Youโre not socializing. Youโre not upset... are you?โ
How could you ever be upset with a husband so sweet, loving, and caring? This marriage was something your family prepared you for your whole life.
Well, not really your whole life, but ever since you could understand the concept, it was something you looked forward to. Even before you knew who youโd end up marrying.
You shook your head. โNo, Iโm not.โ
โSo youโre drinking just because you felt like it?โ
Your lips parted, but no answer came out. Because when he said it like that, plain and simple, it didnโt sound harmless anymore. It sounded unnecessary. It sounded like an issue.
โI justโโ you started, your voice losing certainty with every thought that passed your brain. โIt helps me relax.โ
โFrom what?โ
There wasnโt malice in his question, you knew that. It made your guilt evolve to another level because your husband gave you everything you wanted, and all you could do wasโฆ sit around drinking all afternoon? No long day at work, no screaming children, no real burden you could point to and justify your drinking with.
You let out a soft, breathy laugh, trying to brush it off. โGod, Jack, youโre making it sound like Iโm doing something illegal.โ
โIโm not, I justโโ He stopped himself, exhaling as he glanced away for a second, like he was choosing his next words carefully. โIโve seen you drink more in the past few weeks than I expected, thatโs all.โ
You pulled your hands back slowly, intending to create space not just physically but also emotionally. To show Jack that his words hurt you. On the other hand, you wanted to tell him he knew what he was signing up for. Only, he hadnโt known. Up until that moment, the drinking was your little secret. Or rather the gravity of your drinking.
Would he have not married you if he knew? Would he have chosen someone else, someone who could spend more than a few days sober?
โWell, Iโm sorry I donโt meet your expectations, then,โ you said standing up from the stool.
The alcohol in your blood had slightly changed your perception of gravity and forced you to steady yourself by grabbing the kitchen counter for balance.
โThatโs not what I mean,โ Jack said, now feeling guilty over choosing his words wrong.
Before he could think of a better choice of words, you snapped. โWhatever. I have to go lie down.โ You turned to exit the kitchen, heading towards the living room.
The reality started to get through into the bubble youโve lived in. You began to realize the weight of your problem. That habit of yours was an actual issue.
โBabyโโ
โOh, and,โ you faced your husband again to say one last thing, โmy mother keeps asking if weโre trying. I donโt know how weโre gonna do it if I canโt stay a whole day sober.โ You let out a chuckle. Not because it was funny to you, but because you truly didnโt know how youโre gonna do it. Because you felt pathetic.
โHey,โ Jack stepped toward you. โDonโt joke like that.โ
Your eyes began to get glassy and the wine wasn't the reason. โIโm not joking. I mean, itโs true, isnโt it?โ You had to pause and wipe the wetness blurring your vision. โMe, pregnant. Not a sip of wine for nine months at least. Iโd lose my mind.โ
He didnโt judge that, he didnโt make you feel judged. He never did. Instead, he listened to you, like the good husband he was, so rare these days. Making you feel bad wasnโt his intention, but the way he talked, the way he treated you made you feel ungrateful. He was so good to you, and you couldnโt even give him a family?
You couldnโt bear looking your husband in the eyes. โI love you, Jack,โ you whispered, โI love you so much.โ
He took your face in his hands and gently made you look up. โI love you, too.โ
โI should be able to stop. If I wanted to have a baby, I should justโฆ stop drinking. It shouldnโt even be a question.โ A single tear ran from your eye, Jack wiped it with his thumb.
โIt can be that simple.โ
Your breath trembled as you tried to steady it, but it only made the tightness in your chest worse. โItโs not, Jack, itโs not. But I donโt want it to be the thing that ends up ruining us. Or makes you resent me.โ
You couldnโt stop the tears anymore. A waterfall fell from your eyes, and Jack wrapped his arms around you to give you the comfort you needed. He didnโt say anything, he knew there wasnโt anything he could say that would help in that moment.
All your life, you had imagined this version of yourself so clearly it almost felt prewritten. A husband you adored, a home that reflected the life you were raised for, children that would eventually follow, their laughter filling your home, small hands reaching for yours, a life that looked as perfect on the inside as it did from the outside. And now you had it. Almost. That was the cruelest part.
There was nothing missing, nothing broken, nothing you could point to and say this is why things arenโt right. Your husband loved you in a way that was steady and patient and real, the kind of love people spent their entire lives hoping to find. He was gentle with you, careful with how he treated you. Like you were his most prized possession.
And still, there was this small, quiet thing sitting in the middle of it all. It wasnโt the wine itself. It was what it had become. Something constant and expected, something your body and mind reached for automatically. A habit so seamlessly woven into your days that the thought of removing it felt impossible.
Because wanting a glass of wine at the end of the day shouldnโt have felt even remotely comparable to wanting a child. It shouldnโt have existed anywhere near the same space in your mind, shouldnโt have carried even a fraction of the same weight.
You loved your husband. You wanted his children. You wanted that life. But the future you had always dreamed of suddenly came with a condition. And when you imagined meeting that condition, giving up drinking for nine months, if not longer, felt exhausting.

Can't believe this peaky blinders fanfic I wrote a few years ago still gets attention ily y'all who keep interacting with it (and with all my older works, mwah <3), I thought nobody will read it because reader's love interest is an OC buuuut now it has over 700 notes which is a success for me. Furthermore, I've only now noticed a few people suggesting a part 2 so who knows...
the concept of writing for a trumpie and having the audacity to write โ iโm not american โ
i kinda figured this comment was coming ๐ญ but that was kinda my point with the "i'm not american". american politics aren't something that directly affects my everyday life. i'm fully aware trump is a shitty president. if i were american, i wouldn't vote for him and i wouldn't support what he does. but i'm not american and i'll leave it at that
at the end of the day, i'm writing fiction, and the whole discourse around quinn just gave me an idea after a long period of not writing for fun
He's good for your redemtion arc, you're good for his distraction, so your teams decided to put you in a PR relationship. You didn't expect fake rules to become so blurry so quickly.
Quinn Hughes x reader (featuring a briefly mentioned unspecified ex boyfriend)

author's note: not counting wattpad this is my 1st fic after coming out of a writing retirement. sue me. a rpf at my big age. sue me. my 1st time writing here in 2nd person ("you"). sue me idk?
content warning: i'm not american. also keep in mind i'm not american. did i mention i am not american? besides that, implied addictions. the ending is kinda meh but i was writing this for 3h i'm fed up. this is not what i expected but idk
i feel like this would be better as a story with chapters but i already have stuff like this on wattpad so i don't wanna start yet another tapeworm for now
A walking, talking PR nightmare, thatโs what you were. Your last relationship didnโt just end. It detonated. One second you were convincing yourself you could forgive him, that maybe you could be one of those girls who worked through itโ
And then he got her pregnant.
It happened months ago and the thought of it still made you want to vomit. The worst part of it was how they played a happy family now that the baby was born. Why did he get to live this โperfectโ life, when your heart was shattered? You were drinking heavily, excusing it with after-parties. You indulged in drugs, pushing it as your new party girl persona. And paparazzi were there to witness every moment of it.
For a moment, it stopped the pain. It let you stop thinking about how nothing in your life was fair. You noticed how each shot, each line, each pill made you forget about your ex and his new life. Then youโd wake up the next day, coming down from whatever youโve taken the night before and it all hit you like a brick to the face.
The public didnโt like that. Your team didnโt like that. Your fans hated how it slowly started to ruin you. Sometimes, youโd cancel an interview because you felt too bad to step a foot out of your bed.
When you did show up, youโd wear sunglasses to hide how dilated your pupils were from a line that was supposed to pick you up. Your voice started to sound more raspy with each appearance, which sometimes made you joke about how youโll just switch to making rock at some point.
It was another morning in your NYC apartment. You didnโt go out the previous night, having promised yourself to cut down on the lifestyle at least a little bit before it kills you.
Someone knocked on the door, but you werenโt expecting guests. So you ignored it.
Another knock, more aggressive. โOpen the goddamn door, Y/n.โ
You sighed, recognizing the voice. โGo away, Isa.โ You yelled from where you were lying down on the living room sofa.
The woman didnโt reply, but suddenly you heard the lock clicking, which was weird because you couldnโt remember giving her a key.
You barely had time to sit up before Isa was standing right in front of you. She gave you a look, not quite judging but wishing she could stop dealing with your bullshit. She had known you for years, but this was the first time you started acting out like this.
โYou look like shit,โ she stated.
โNo shit.โ You managed a weak smile.
โWe need to talk.โ
โDonโt we always?โ
โBecause you keep doing shit that requires damage control.โ
With a groan, you prepared yourself to hear what Isa had to say this time. Honestly, she mustโve been some angel sent from heaven to take care of you.
โI told you, Iโm not going to rehab,โ you reminded her.
โI know that,โ Isa said as she fished her laptop out of her bag, โbut your bullshit is getting out of control, weโre running out of ways to spin it. You donโt cooperate, youโre a liability. The label will drop you if this continues.โ
โSo what magical remedy did you come up with this time?โ
Isa paused, a cheeky smile appearing on her face. โWeโre putting you in a relationship.โ
The thought of that made you sick. โNo. Iโm never dating again. Not for real, not for PR. Men ainโt shit. Think of something else.โ
โItโs already happening.โ
This sobered you up like a slap to the face. โThe fuck?โ
โHis team approached us first, itโll be mutually beneficial.โ
You stared at her, trying to figure out if she was serious or if this was some kind of sick joke. โWhose team?โ
โQuinn Hughes. Hockey player, gold olympic medal. Laughed at some joke, visited the White House. Long story short, everyone thinks heโs MAGA and even a SNL appearance didnโt help.โ
You scoffed. There was no way in hell you were going to agree to do this. โSo Iโd be a distraction? For a trumpie?โ
Isa argued. โThe thing is, heโs not. Besides, like I said, itโs already happening. He gets a distraction, you get a redemption arc.โ
โDid he agree to this? I donโt think he wants to affiliate himself with a cokehead, on top of all he already has going on.โ
โLook, a distraction is a distraction. People will focus on you two dating and forget everything else. And for you, dating an athlete will make people think your lifestyle changed.โ
You let your head fall back against the couch, staring up at the ceiling. โHoly fuck.โ
Three months, thatโs how long it was supposed to keep going. Of course, it could be prolonged if people were buying the narrative. For now you didnโt even know if youโre buying it, the arranged โdateโ was going to test it.
Your teams picked a spot. A restaurant, a believable first date. A fancy place, but not fancy enough to have privacy. Basically, you were bait, just waiting for paparazzi to appear.
You saw Quinn as you entered, he was already sitting at your table.
You spoke first. โSo youโre the guy. Congrats on the medal, I guess. Sorry forโฆ other things.โ
โYeah, hi.โ He awkwardly stood up as you approached, offering you his hand. โQuinn.โ
Your eyes flicked to his hand, and you decided to shake it, even though it seemed too formal. โY/n.โ
You sat down across from him, crossing your legs, feeling the urge to look away because of how awkward the situation was. You were supposed to play interested, romantically involved even, with a guy who you werenโt really interested in. You had no desire for any relationships.
โSo.โ You picked up the glass of water, but didnโt take a sip. โI guess weโre dating now. We should settle some rules.โ
He raised an eyebrow. โRules? I thought our teams had already settled that.โ
โNo, I meant personally. Touching is okay, holding hands I will accept. No kissing without previous notice. No talking about me in interviewsโโ
โWasnโt going to.โ
โOh, how charming of you.โ
You paused. He didnโt speak. The silence was awkward.
You continued. โWhat about you? What should I avoid?โ
He thought about it for a second. โDonโt embarrass me. If youโre hooking up with someone, donโt let people find out. Take this seriously.โ
You couldnโt help but chuckle at how seriously he was taking it. โYou sound just like I did in my last relationship. Except it wasnโt for PR.โ
โOhโโ he paused, unsure of what to do with that information. โIโve heard what happened. Sorry he was a dick. I know we donโt know each other but just know I wouldnโt do that.โ
His comment sounded genuine and it caught you off guard. You almost didnโt come up with a sarcastic comeback. โSetting the bar high, arenโt you?โ
He frowned a little, like he wasnโt sure if you were joking or not. โI just meantโโ
โI know what you meant,โ you cut in, waving it off. โChill. Iโm not expecting you to publicly cheat on me in our very real, very serious fake relationship.โ
At some point in your life, sarcasm has become a defense mechanism for you. Nobody could hurt you if youโd already joked about it.
Quinn could see that. โIโm being serious. He shouldnโt have treated you like that.โ
The waiter came by to take your order, and after he walked away you had a moment to discuss once again. With each minute, it started to become less and less awkward, you thought that maybe Quinn wasnโt the worst guy you couldโve been in a fake relationship with.
โIโm starting to think this PR thing will be more bearable than I assumed.โ You took a sip of your water.
There was no wine. Well, the restaurant had it, but Quinn suggested it might not be the best idea considering your latest issues. That was the second time he took you off guard that night, you didnโt expect him to be so considerate.
If you had wine, this could go a very wrong direction. You would probably drink too much, because thereโs no such thing as โenough wineโ for you. Some people called it alcoholism, you called it sustainable consumption.
Once the food arrived, your conversation continued. Quinn told you how he disliked the attention that surrounded him recently. Hockey wasnโt just his career, it was something he loved. It was his life. He was just a guy who wanted to have fun on the ice, but the recognition that came with being a famous athlete annoyed him.
โYouโre very PR-trained for someone who claims he hates the media,โ you said.
โImagine you wanna do your job in peace and thereโs hundreds of people demanding explanations for things that transcend your jobโs requirements.โ
You giggled at that. โAnd so well-spoken for someone who went viral for dissociating on ice.โ
โI swear I read books, Iโm not your average golden retriever athlete type,โ he laughed.
You knew he was just playing along, but decided to push him further. โOh, yeah? To me all hockey players seem like the frat boy type who never really grows up.โ
โTell you what, fly back to Minnesota with me and Iโll show you my book collection.โ
Your face warmed up at the idea of it. He didnโt seem like he meant anything else beneath that offer which made it quite endearing.
Then he realized. โOh, no, noโ NOT like that, I swear I didnโt mean it to sound like Iโm trying to get into your pants.โ
You laughed, shaking your head, trying to play it off like it wasnโt affecting you. โWell, before you were just a dumb fratboy, now you sound like a tryhard intellectual.โ
Quinn turned out to be the opposite of what you had expected before you met him. You expected it to be more awkward. You worried this PR thing was going to be a torture for you to endure just for people to stop thinking youโre a disaster.
After the dinner, you parted ways at the taxi which was waiting for you.
Before you got into the car, you turned to your fake boyfriend. โBy the way, Iโm down for a trip to Minnesota.โ
He laughed, a little awkward, a little warm. โJust let me know a few days in advance so I can make my place look presentable.โ
You rolled your eyes. โI mean it.โ
โI know. Me too.โ
It was shocking to you how easily that not-a-date date put you back on track. Suddenly, you found yourself choosing to stay home when friends texted you about a party. Rehab started to look like a good idea, instead of something youโd dread.
Your sleep schedule changed, now you were going to sleep before midnight. There was no reason to stay up if you werenโt going out. The idea of morning workouts started to appear in our head without a warning, filling you with curiosity about what itโd be like to actually change your lifestyle.
Maybe you werenโt curious enough to sign up for a six a. m. Pilates class, but it had you searching workouts on youtube. Isa noticed it immediately when she came by one afternoon, expecting to find you on the couch with a half-empty bottle of whatever poison you felt like drinking that day. Instead, you were in leggings, hair tied back, watching a yoga video.
She gave you a suspicious look. โWhatโฆ are you doing?โ
You shrugged. โIf Iโm fake-dating an athlete, I gotta look the part, right? I might even go to rehab.โ
You didnโt notice that little pleased smile creeping onto her face. โYouโre changing.โ
โJust exploring my options. Pilates seems hard, so I figured Iโd start with yoga. Hey, come sit with me.โ You paused the workout video and locked your iPadโs screen.
Isa approached you carefully and took a seat on the couch. It had only been a few days that she hadnโt seen you, and you seemed like a different person. She didnโt know whether to be happy or to call your therapist.
You smiled at the woman, unable to contain the information anymore. โIโm going to Minnesota in a few days.โ
Isaโs eyes widened, and she blinked like she needed a moment to process. โWaitโฆ what?โ
โWeโre gonna chill, take a few photos to post to make it look real. Iโm feeling adventurous.โ
The gossip pages were already talking about your first date. So the two of you decided itโs only fair if you give them something more to talk about.
So a few days later you were in Minnesota, walking through the threshold of Quinn Hughesโ place. On your flight there, you watched some tiktoks, like that one interview where your fake boyfriendโs brother, Jack, teased him about how messy he was.
As disorganised as Jack claimed Quinn was, his place was rather clean. Either Jack liked to exaggerate or Quinn hired a cleaning team to get the place ready for your visit.
Shortly, you found out Quinn wasnโt lying about books. He hadโฆ a lot of them. Not one specific genre, he seemed to read whatever he felt like. Some titles you didnโt even recognize. Youโd be lying if you said this wasnโt a little attractive.
As per the photos, you couldnโt make it too obvious. If you just threw selfies into peopleโs faces, it would feel fake and forced. So you soft-launched instead.
A TV playing. A pizza box on the coffee table.
โWait, wait, wait,โ you said, โput your hand on my thigh.โ
This time you caught Quinn off guard. โWhat?โ
โFor the picture. Iโll post it on my IG story.โ
โUh, okay, yeah, letโs do that.โ
When his hand landed on your leg, it felt surprisingly delicate, like he was testing the waters. You had arrived in jeans, but once you noticed how warm his apartment was, you changed into a pair of shorts youโd packed. Now, his hand rested against bare skin, and a subtle heat ran through you at the contact.
You could hear your own heartbeat as you took the picture. It was so stupid. Your face mustโve been red. This felt like something teenagers would be doing. Not knowing why, you hesitated before clicking โpostโ.
โAll good?โ Quinn asked.
โYeah,โ you replied too quickly. โJust, um, itโs a little hot in here.โ
He cleared his throat. โIโll bring you some water.โ
When he got up from the couch, it felt like hours. You wondered, why does it feel so weird suddenly? You had already broken the ice. Back at the restaurant, the conversation flew smoothly. Throughout the days you didnโt see each other, you were texting.
So why did it feel like that now? Like you didnโt quite know what you were? Like you didnโt know where the line in your agreement was? You didnโt realize the PR arrangement would fuck with your head so much.
You watched him come back to the couch, to you, the casualness of it making something raise in your throat for no reason you could name. Quinn didnโt notice, of course, he was just getting water, but every little thing felt amplified.
When he handed you the glass, your fingers brushed. You caught yourself holding his gaze a moment too long and suddenly the fake relationship rules felt blurry.
โYouโฆ have really soft hands for a hockey player,โ you said.
He smiled, amused. โIโll take that as a compliment.โ
โAnd I uhh liked how your hand feltโฆ on my thigh.โ
You set the glass of water on the coffee table and shifted slightly closer, drawn to him despite everything in your head reminding you this is all a fake arrangement.
โThen maybeโฆ I should keep it there?โ He said softly, tentatively.
You nodded, taking his hand even before he fully finished the sentence, and placing it where it rested before.
The rest of it felt like a movie. You both leaned in, and when your lips were millimeters apart, you paused. There was no going back after crossing that line. Your lips connected, and the kiss wasnโt a soft clichรฉ like one would expect.
From the beginning, it was hungry, like the both of you finally didnโt have to keep to any restrictions. Quinn kissed exactly how youโd imagine. Precise and all-consuming as you explored each other. At some point, his hands moved to your waist and guided you into his lap. As you straddled him, your hands rested on his shoulders.
His grip on your waist tightened, holding you steady as the kiss deepened, as if he couldnโt let go even if he wanted to. But he didnโt want to. Your body fit against his naturally, it didnโt feel like the fake-relationship performative act youโve been doing.
You pulled back just enough to catch your breath. โDidnโt expect the tryhard intellectual fratboy to be such a good kisser.โ
For the first time, he gave you a cocky smile. โSo much for no kissing without previous notice, huh?โ
ok gotta get my shit together and write something (my professor asked for chapter 1 of my thesis) (i dont wanna write my thesis) (i'm writing a fanfic instead)
Hiiii :)) who remembers meee?? Thought I wouldn't come back but felt the sudden urge to reinvent myself and get back to writing. Wanted to make a new account but remembered I have this one with like 800 followers (wondering how many I'll lose after this post lol) so hi guys!!
What changed?
I was 19 when I made this blog, reading my previous works cringes me a lil but they're iconic so they aren't going anywhere
I moved to France with a guy who I thought was the love of my life, got engaged, planned a baby with him and all that but thankfully we broke up because what the actual fuck
I have been to the grippy socks jailโข but I'm medicated now and surprisingly self aware
We're NOT gonna talk about my brief cowboy era last year (rest in peace my two rdr2 fics imma delete that side account it was embarrassing)
I'm open to the idea of making social media AUs as they seem "quicker" to make than one shots
I'm very very open to the idea of writing reader x real life celebrities
When it comes to one shots I'd like to keep writing for Peaky Blinders and Outer Banks but I feel like I grew out of Harry Potter/Marauders and Dead poets society (maybe some alt adult AUs for dps because like ever since I've seen this movie 10 years ago I re-watch it regularly and it's a part of my identity lmao)
I'll probably write for some new shows (new to this blog, not new in general, here you won't see the summer I turned pretty)
I'll just write whatever tf I want lol
Okay that's all thanks if you read all this and won't unfollow me :)
Btw I'm aware of AI usage even in fanfics, which in my option ruins the whole idea of being a writer in general, so I assure you this blog has never used AI and it never will. I wrote and defended my BA thesis without AI, I think I'm competent enough to write fanfiction lmao
Blood status seems to become less important when you acknowledge the actual feeling of love. What will Theo do when Y/n comes to the terms with the differences between them being impossible to ignore?
Pairing: Theo Nott x granger!reader
Words count: 1.9k
Author's note: My apologies for keeping you waiting so long, but I finally got some time off at uni!! Wishing you all a good year!!
Kind of a 2nd part of this fic, but you can read it without the previous one
One evening, Theo was waiting in the library. Waiting for a person he never expected to talk to. Y/n Granger. He found himself feeling a bit nervous, even though there was no reason.
Thinking about Y/n made him feel something. A feeling he never felt before. Slughorn said it's love, the muggle kind of love, the purest form, not induced by anything supernatural.
Theo decided to read about it. Hoping to find some book about it, he asked the librarian. She gave him a book specifically about love potions and spells. One of the first chapters was just what Theo was looking for.
"How to tell the difference between love and infatuation caused by magic." He whispered the first sentence to himself.
He started reading, his mind realizing what he got himself into as his gaze brushed over the text. Well, technically it wasn't his own fault and apparently also not the girl's fault.
But there must've been a reason. If love was a part of biology, brain chemistry, there had to be some logical factor.
"What are you reading?"
When Theo heard Y/n's voice right next to him, he immediately closed the book, causing it to make a loud sound.
"You took such a long time I got bored." He replied.
"Don't be so shy," the girl shifted her eyes to the title of the book, "oh, love potions and spells? But we're doing something completely different."
"Really? I couldn't care less, forgot what we were supposed to do." Surely one thing he'd love to do was making out with her on that table.
Y/n put her homework on the table.
"Read it and tell me what's wrong."
"Nothing is wrong, I just-"
"What's wrong with my text, Nott. I didn't ask how you were doing."
"Right."
Theo took the papers and started reading. The text was written with the most beautiful handwriting he's ever seen. So elegant, so precise.
"How long did it take you to write?" He asked.
"One evening. It was easier than you'd think."
"I think it's extremely easy." He bragged. "Anyway, is that all? Or do you wanna add something?"
"Well, Slughorn thought it's necessary for you to help me. Is there anything you think should be added?"
"Uh, no, it looks fine," he mumbled, avoiding eye contact.
"Fine? Theodore Nott, the perfectionist Slytherin, settles for 'fine'? I expected more from you."
"Look, it's not my homework, it's yours. I don't know why I agreed to help you, but it was pointless."
"You got yourself into this, could've said no."
"What the fuck am I even doing?" Theo asked rather himself than the girl. "I don't need to be helping a mudblood, who cares what grade you'll get." With these words, he stood up.
"Because-" Y/n stuttered. "Because... I've heard your conversation with Slughorn. And you said... that you liked me."
"Me? Liking you?" He snorted with laughter. "What the hell, Granger?"
Tears formed in Y/n's eyes as she watched Theo walk away. Sure, he was mean to her before, this wasn't the first time. But this time was somehow different.
Y/n could swear she heard Theo confessing to Slughorn that he's actually in love with her. It's not possible her brain played tricks on her. Plus Hermione said Theo told her about his feelings for Y/n.
Harry walked onto the astronomy tower. Y/n was supposed to be back a long time ago. Ron and Hermione also wanted to go there, but Harry asked to let him go alone.
Harry knew where Y/n was thanks to the Map. He felt such relief not seeing Nott's name next to hers. She was standing alone, leaning on the banister. There was something in her hand, Harry couldn't see well in the dark, but from the smell he realized it was a cigarette.
"I didn't know you smoke." He spoke.
Y/n expected this to happen, she was aware of Harry's feelings towards her. She took one last drag from her cigarette then dropped it on the ground, put it out with her shoe and kicked off the tower.
"Why do you keep doing this?" Y/n asked, smoke leaving through her mouth. "I knew you're gonna look at your silly little map to see where I am."
"We were starting to get worried. Theo is... you know, dangerous. We got scared he would hurt you."
And he did. Theo did hurt Y/n, just not physically.
"Hermione should be here instead. But, let me guess, you told her you'll check up on me."
"Maybe," Harry admitted finally, "do you know why? Because I actually care about you. I've had feelings for you for years. I deserve you, not Nott. I deserve you, because-"
"Because you're the chosen one?" She mocked and paused. "Look, Harry, I like you as a friend. I've never felt anything more than this. I can't change how I see you and I won't pretend otherwise."
He nodded, acceptance settling in. "I get it. I just... I thought if I cared enough, it would make a difference."
"Caring is important, Harry, but it doesn't always lead to the feelings we hope for."
"Whoever you date, just don't date Nott, please."
"I promise I won't. Not after today, I'm over him."
"Care to share what happened?"
"I'll tell you, Hermione and Ron in the common room. Let's go, I've been here too long."
Y/n didn't even know how wrong she was that night on the astronomy tower, but she forgot about it. Weeks went by, Christmas had passed, everyone were back from the break. Classes started again and Y/n found herself hoping to catch a glimpse of Theo.
They kept exchanging glances on the corridors, accidentally bumping into each other in the crowds. Y/n wanted to believe Theo liked her, but even if he did, they could never work.
"Y/n, listen to me," he said, catching her when she was alone in the library one time. "I know how things have been between us, but during the break I... I realized I don't wanna keep being enemies."
"Theo, you know it could never work. You said what you said and maybe it's better to leave it this way."
"I contemplated a lot," it was true, he spent the break mostly in his room, drowning in thoughts. About her, about them, coming to terms with what he was feeling. "I decided to accept my feelings."
"That's great for you, but we could never work. I've always 'fancied' you, I guess, despite what you were doing, ironically, but the time we worked on my project together, I accepted we could never work."
"And why's that?"
Y/n took a deep breath, wondering if he was stupid or just pretending. Maybe it was a bet he had with someone. Maybe Draco dared him to do this.
"You don't see how different we are? What do you expect is gonna happen? Would you introduce me to your father? Wouldn't you care that I'd get you disowned?"
Theo looked at her, Y/n could see sadness in his eyes. She realized her words made him realize the differences between them, because he walked away. Theo walked away without a word.
Y/n pierced her own heart with an invisible knife. She was really hoping they could work, but it just wasn't possible in this universe. Maybe there was a universe where none of this purity bullshit didn't exist. Y/n wished she would've been born there.
Y/n couldn't predict what Theo was going to do. She thought her words made him give up on her. It was for the best, of course, she should've focused on her studies firstly, and then on a realistic relationship.
It was a Friday. Y/n was sitting next to Ginny by the Gryffindor table. It was dinner time, all the students gathered in the Great Hall. All the students besides one Slytherin, the one that Y/n hoped to see. Maybe it was weird, but she enjoyed the sad looks they'd pass to each other.
"Hey, Y/n, are you listening?" Hermione asked from across the table.
"Sure," Y/n quickly shifted her eyes to her sister. "You were talking about Defence Against the Dark Arts."
"You've got divided attention. Stop looking at the Slytherin table."
"Ugh," Ginny groaned, "were you doing this again? Merlin, you stare at this Slytherin git 90% of the time."
"Well, he isn't here today. I wonder where he could be. Everyone else is here."
"There he is," Ron pointed out, rolling his eyes.
The golden trio and two younger Gryffindors looked at the doors' direction. Theo had just walked into the Great Hall, but surprisingly he didn't walk towards his table. He walked towards Y/n.
"Y/n," he spoke, catching everyone's attention. People were reading to witness another argument. "I can't help this, I love you."
Shocked noises came from all the tables, but Slytherins kept whispering between each other also when Theo continued talking.
"I don't care what anyone says, anyone thinks. Love is not meant to be controlled, it kills me to fight it."
Y/n stood up from the table, ready to leave the room.
"Theo, stop," she begged, "you're embarrassing us both. Your friends will-"
"I don't care what they do. If they don't accept it, they're not my friends. If anyone wants to fight me for having feelings for a muggleborn, I can fight, I've never lost a duel."
The whole Great Hall fell silent, even the teachers didn't try to intervene, when they saw Theo pulling out a small, black velvet box.
"I want you to wear this ring," he opened the box, "as my promise to always protect you from whoever tries to harm you or our relationship."
"It's beautiful, but..." Y/n was speechless by the sight of the ring. It was silver with two gemstones forming a subtle heart - half emerald and half ruby.
"It was custom made and if you accept it, I'll once get you a matching engagement ring. Also, there are thorns which will hurt you when you try taking it off. I want you forever, Y/n Granger."
The ring in the black velvet box sparkled under the enchanted ceiling. The Great Hall remained in silence as Theo poured his heart out, confessing his love. The unexpected turn of events had everyone on edge.
Slytherins exchanged intrigued glances, Gryffindors shared confused looks and even the teachers seemed to not know how to react. Y/n could feel the weight of everyone's eyes on her, and for a moment, she considered the potential consequences of accepting Theo's proposal.
"Theo," she began, her voice breaking, "it's not that simple."
"I know it is. But I can't keep hiding my feelings, Y/n. I've tried, and it's tearing me apart. I'll protect you from whatever comes our way."
Y/n looked at the ring, then back at him. "I believe in second chances. And I appreciate your sincerity. I accept the ring, Theo."
Theo carefully took the ring from the box and gently slid it onto Y/n's finger. The Great Hall burst with cheering and applause, only the Slytherin table didn't seem so enthusiastic about this.
Theo placed his hands on Y/n's waist, pulling her in for a kiss. She didn't hesitate to kiss him back, her hands sinking in his dense her yet the ring on her finger still visible, reflecting the light from the ceiling.
