Taylor Swift singing “Innocent” live at MTV VMA’s back in 2010. This amazing performance remains the only one of this wonderful song.

Taylor said about this performance:

“The decision to perform ‘Innocent’ on the VMA’s was very in line with what the album is about. The album is called Speak Now, it’s about saying, saying what you need to say at the moment that you need to say it.  I had a bunch of different options going into the VMA’s.  I could have sung a different song, I could’ve not gone, I could’ve done a bunch of different things, but I felt like going to the VMA’s and singing a song about how I had felt, it seemed like the right call if I’m going to live my life in the way that I wrote that album.”

Taylor said about the song: The song Innocent is about something that really intensely affected me emotionally and it took a while to write this one. I was fortunate enough to get the chance to perform the song on the VMA’s and that was the first time that anyone ever heard it. And putting out an album called “Speak Now” where you’re supposed to say what you feel when you know how you feel, I felt that performing that song on that particular award show was appropriated so I hope that everybody likes this one.
