Being LGBTQ+ should never be a crime, yet many of us have been forced to flee our homes because of persecution. Even after seeking safety, we continue to face fear and discrimination.

Homophobia, harassment, and abuse remain part of our daily lives. We live with constant threats, and interactions with authorities are not always a source of protection. Instead, many LGBTQ+ refugees experience intimidation, unfair treatment, or are afraid to report violence because they fear discrimination or being ignored.

Everyone deserves to live with dignity, safety, and equal protection under the law, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We should not have to choose between hiding who we are and risking our lives.

I ask you to stand with LGBTQ+ refugees by raising awareness, speaking out against hatred . Your voice and solidarity can help bring hope to those who have been forgotten.

We are LGBTQ+ refugees living in Gorom Refugee Camp, South Sudan, where every day is a struggle for safety, dignity, and survival.

Many of us fled our home countries because of persecution, violence, and discrimination simply for being who we are. We hoped to find safety, but life in the camp remains extremely difficult. We face discrimination, threats, limited access to food, clean water, healthcare, and other basic necessities. Many people in our community are struggling with trauma, depression, and uncertainty about the future.

Despite these hardships, we continue to support one another and hold on to hope. We believe that every person deserves to live free from fear and to be treated with dignity and respect.

Today, we are asking for your support. If you are able, please consider making a donation to help us meet urgent needs such as food, clean water, medical care, hygiene supplies, and safe shelter. If you cannot donate, sharing our story can also make a meaningful difference by helping us reach people who may be able to help.

Your kindness, solidarity, and compassion remind us that we are not alone.
