Legitimate question: why do you care if Ukraine becomes part of Russia? Why kill a shitload more people? What difference would it make if Ukraine becomes another republic in the RF? I don't hear Tatars or Bashkirs or Mordvins or whoever complaining about being a part of Russia. If anything, it should be far easier for Eastern Orthodox Slavs that already know Russian anyway to fit in. Ukrainians would still exist, just with different citizenship. It's not like Ukraine was some super advanced country anyway, the day-to-day life would be the same shit.
hmmmm why the leftist transgender lesbian ukrainian patriot doesn't want to be a part of fascistic dictatorship where people get imprisoned for "LGBT propaganda" where people get kidnapped tortured and murdered for the critique of the government or any kind of protest and where discrimination domestic violence and CSAM are legal 🤔🤔 on occupied ukrainian territories you literally get detained in a concentration camp for any kind of pro-ukrainian sentiment and in those camps people get tortured raped and killed. truly a mystery why do i even care
I know that they are asking this as anon to not get kicked in their head. This statement is laced with so much russian propaganda you can literally overdose on it.
1. Why do you care if Ukraine becomes part of russia?
Oh, I don't know. Why would anyone care about freedom or sovereignty or ability to decide what to do? Everyone knows, you should indefinitely bend to someone more powerful than you. There is no other way.
2. Why kill a shitload of people?
If russian army stops, killing stops. If Ukrainian army stops, killing, ethnic cleansing and genocide continues on the never seen before level. I know this personally, since on the first week or so of invasion, my friend in Kherson was kidnapped by FSB and tortured to death. He was bellow 18 at that time. A LITERAL KID WAS TORTURED TO DEATH FOR BEING PRO-UKRAINIAN IN A UKRAINIAN CITY. Imagine if your friends, your Tumblr mutuals, people you were playing rpgs with started disappearing, and months later you would learn of their horrible fate. I want ALL of you to understand, what Ukrainians are living through every day.
3. I don't hear Tatars or Bashkirs complaining...
Another very funny take. Not only I am a descendant of Tatars who fled their homeland because they've lost a war against russians, but also they complain ALL THE TIME.
Not long ago there was civil unrest in Dagestan, Caucasian territory occupied by russia. This was because the central government didn't help with massive flooding and in fact was covering up the catastrophe.
In other words, those "whoever" think living in russia is so good, many of them result with prolonged separatist campaigns like, for example Tatars, Chechens, Bashkorts, Buryats and Yakuts.
4. "Eastern orthodox slavs, who already know russian"
This is straight up imperialist propaganda and a very specific view point you cannot get through just being dumb or ignorant. I will not go on a tangent, but russian orthodox church isn't actually orthodox church, but simply a KGB extension. Then, neither russia is majority Slavic, nor Ukraine is exclusively Slavic. This is straight up ignoring all the other ethnicities as lesser beings who do not deserve representation. And lastly, without russians forcing everyone to learn russian, Ukrainians have no reason to know it. We already have a couple generations that learn russian much later in life or don't learn it at all(i can easily support this with a video of russian higher up saying they need to provide russian lessons in concentration camps, where she is bewildered by the fact that many kids don't know russian or can barely speak it).
Now, quick ones because I am already tired of this shit.
Ukrainians will likely cease existing under prolonged russian control, just like many groups within russia already did. First, lose your autonomy, than language, than culture. That's it. Nation is no more.
And Ukraine is much more advanced than russia is in most sectors, like IT, MIT, some industrial capabilities, engineering etc. Average living conditions are much higher, even though russia is one of the biggest exporters of oil and natural gas. And Ukraine is MUCH more progressive in its political and social life. All of this while being at war for the last 13 years. So yes, while we are not as advanced as EU countries, being inside of russia is way fucking worse.
Anyways, fuck the anon, I hope they get horrible diarrhea. I hope this read was useful for some simple minded westerners who don't know shit but think they need to put their opinion out.
And yeah, I'm also queer and my friends are majority queer circles, so I will be executed by russian secret service for 3 different reasons. I wasn't talking about it much, because OP responded quite well from that perspective.
was cleaning and rendering old oc concept for dungeon meshi au and thought of who would willmack be in that setting
very random but very funny still
for ocs i chose bard (caden; weird, i know, but it does make sense), rogue (morty) and druid (mimosa), and knowing that (also requires knowing my ocs) - you can guess i love some not-so-on-the-nose concepts for some aus (bc obviously caden is built like a brick wall him being bard is not so obvious, and morty gives my more of blood hunter vibe but for that specific au i guess he started as rogue and became more like warlock/wizard wannabe later)
anyway wiilmack, but it will be short
first thing i wanted to say — im talking mostly about dnd (and i suck at dnd), but in dungeon meshi setting! however, without replacing og characters or taking over their lore in order to fit those two.
let’s imagine there is alternative dungeon someone in that world, and there happens to be a group of people who go there in order to find treasures, adventures or secret third option.
i wanted to skip races, bc i’m imagining something ryoko kui would draw in her style, but also not all dnd races were mentioned in dungeon meshi, or they were portrayed differently.
anyway, you got the idea of visuals
for mack — ig he’s a tallman? but also he could’ve easily be a human. yes, the rarest race in dnd, he’s that special. funnily enough, he goes through a lot of difficulties being a human in a monster-filled dungeon — dude can’t even see in the dark. his personal goal might also clash dramatically with this whole “jack of all trades, master of none” thing
will in my understanding is something more whimsical, but in a way half-elves in classical dnd are whimsical: human to elves, and elf to humans. never enough for one, always too much for others.
for classes i thought of a paladin and a monk.
i can see mack being a paladin. first of all, he’s more of a natural leader and caretaker in my understanding. also it fits bc of how righteous he is when facing enemies, but also how responsible he would've been with his teammates, especially if they're injured. and i would love seeing him going an oath breaker path bc it's such a funny and complex thing you can play with while writing a story or illustrating it.
alternatively, he can be a fighter. but let’s be real it’s not the most interesting option here.
will being cleric is funny because of the whole idea of clerics being religious, but also - clerics are so badass and so faithful and loyal imho. as far as i know — that’s will’s traits.
but also consider monk will. great with his fists, religious, pretty much a perfect support.
anyway that’s all for now
my baby is finally home!!!!!
i will finally be able to bring him anywhere with me!!!
So I read and agree with your most recent boycotting post, but at the same time, I feel like people with this view are not consistent. Which is understandable if you're directly effected by Russian imperialism or such. But I ask is it really not okay to monetarily support Russians who are not in favor of imperialism (which as you mention is an excruciatingly hard bar to clear despite it being so low in the first place, which.. fair) through commissions and such just because of taxes when the same is not applied to other nations? Like, even if an American is completely anti-Trump and anti-American imperialism, is it still not okay to support them because they probably inevitably pay tax? Or is it not okay to buy from Chinese artists who don't support China attempting to claim ownership of the literal ocean to further enroach on places like Vietnam because of the same issue? Or maybe a more niche group, is it not okay to monetarily support French people or Spanish people because France and Spain will use their tax money to continue neocolonialism in places like Africa? Im not asking this in favor of Russians because frankly I think "russophobia" is a giant meme, but I'm just asking where is the line drawn, if it only applies to Russians, (and why Russians specifically and not Americans/Chinese/French/Spanish/etc) or if it's just a person to person thing?
I mean, we already have had this discussion intra community; there were some Ukrainian people who appealed to the same thing, being unable to let go of the shitty russian rock or something and thus both sponsoring their own genocide and messing up everyone else's Spotify recommendations. So you know what the tldr of years of discource is? How to find who to boycott and who not to?
Is this country currently attacking yours, or threatening to attack yours? If the answer is yes, don't buy, don't promote - don't be complicit in your own murder.
Is this country currently conducting genocide? If the answer is yes, then yeah don't buy from them and don't promote them. Well, if you give a shit, of course.
I don't buy Chinese produced electronics (not just the brand isn't Chinese, it's not even produced there) - I am using a very outdated Pixel 2 just because it was manufactured in Taiwan and was in my price range. I don't buy Israel bandage even if it can literally save my life in emergency. If I die, I die, but at least I die with principles, you know? I don't necessarily going to post about a boycott against them because I am neither Uyghur nor Palestinian, I barely even post about boycotting russia. It doesn't mean I monetarily support either government.
So like, where do you draw the line? Because I personally go even further and don't buy from companies that didn't leave russian market, like Procter and Gamble. Always is objectively the best menstrual pads in mass market, and what do you know? Fuck them. I'm not going to generate revenue for people helping my genocide.
And here's the thing; i provided several examples of things I don't buy that are kinda almost essential. There's the countries or companies are the best at what they do. And I still refuse to buy them. When we're talking about russian fandom, I don't think it's even that hard to not reblog a boosty link or whatever? Like, you're not going to die from not doing that, or pay more, you're not even going to be inconvenienced.
If you just simply want a fair treatment for everyone, then points 1 and 2 above are a good rule of thumb.

disappointed but not surprised with how absolutely no one in the news except us bats an eye at the fact that russians have dramatically increased their attacks on passenger trains
yes, we just travel to work and get killed, we just travel to visit our family and get killed, we just evacuate from the near front line towns and get killed, and they do it on purpose

breaking news putting the shape of your country on your clothes, the country you represent, while using the national colors, is naughty.
“We prepared our sports — no, not even sports, but ceremonial — uniforms for our team. The International Paralympic Committee said, ‘No, no, no — that won’t work.’ They said the uniforms were political and that no one would allow us to go out wearing them. The uniforms were very beautiful, very symbolic, and strongly ‘shouted’ that Ukraine exists in the world, in Europe, with all its territories intact, without Russian occupation,” said the president of the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine.
Fuck this shit — just ban Ukraine already, call us a political issue, while Russia is kept out of the conversation.
They literally hate the mere fact of Ukraine existing.
This is the world we exist in currently.

I’ll be honest, guys. I’m grateful for any support for Ukraine from foreigners. But when, in a monologue about helping Ukraine, you gradually slip into rhetoric like “Russians and Ukrainians are alike,” you lose most of the Ukrainian audience in the room. At that point, only Russians remain — and even then, a certain kind of them.
“Russian soldiers are all forced to go to this war.” Please, listen to at least some real interviews with them.
Because in 90% of cases, after the word “forced,” one of these reasons follows:
“I was forced to fight because I signed a contract that said I would only dig trenches and do logistical support. But I was betrayed and sent to assault positions. I was promised I’d just help the army and earn money while staying safe.”
“I was forced to fight because I was in prison and was told my sentence would be canceled if I signed a contract. It’s very unfortunate that other Russians don’t really respect me.”
“I was forced to fight because I wanted a better life, to pay off my loans. They said they would pay well, so I signed the contract.”
Yes, there are ideological Russians who are genuinely interested in destroying Ukrainians. But the majority see these killings — and their participation in them — as a source of income. This is not the first such case in human history, including today. Yet for some reason, you fail to grasp this.
At the same time, many of you refuse to listen to Ukrainians, considering our perspective unreliable — even though we have lived with and interacted with this nation for centuries, while you may have only had a couple of Russian acquaintances.
So yes, thank you for the support. But Ukrainians are not fighting to “liberate Russians from Putin” and make Russia free so that we can then live together with it in harmony — as many of you once imagined, and as many “liberal” Russians still do.
Those Russians who are truly on Ukraine’s side — not just “against the war” — most often do not see the continued existence of this modern empire as a result of Ukraine’s victory. Because that victory would lead to further attempts to free Belarus, to cut Georgia off from Russian influence, and then to internal processes within Russia itself. Beyond that, representatives of national minorities are already discussing the creation of their own forms of statehood without Kremlin control, if they are given such a chance.
So yes, Ukrainians do fight for the freedom of others — this has also been true historically — but in the case of our victory, there will be courts just like after World War II, where the excuse “I was just following orders” is not a valid alibi.
And in the case of a Russian occupation of Ukraine — you will simply have the opportunity to meet many more Russian soldiers and form your own opinion of them.
