Real talk the characters of Liv and Maddie Rooney on the Disney show Liv and Maddie were actually fantastic role models to young girls. One embraced femininity and things stereotypically ‘girly’ and the other chose not to and to peruse things that were considered stereotypically 'boy things’. Yet BOTH were presented as smart, passionate and EMPOWERED young women who cared deeply about one another as well as others. And they BOTH preached the importance of a girl being exactly who she is no matter what. To quote Liv exactly, they taught young girls; 'You don’t have to change who you are to fit someone else’s idea of what a girl is supposed to be.’ Liv and Maddie was such an important show and it does not get enough credit. Not at all.
