─ VIVIENNE WHITLEY ;

At Universal Hollywood Studios Vivienne stood in queue with her son, Brandon and his cousins; Andrew and Matthew. The boys were talking animatedly about the upcoming Jurassic Park ride. While she was perfectly fine to opt out of most of the rides, this one in particular required supervision. The 84 foot drop was clearly all they raved about. Anyone observing the trio would assume that this was their first time on this ride. Alas, Vivienne had long since invested in a Pass for this theme park seeing as they visited quite regularly. She spared no expense when it came to giving Brandon the very best. Sometimes she felt as if she was trying to make up for the way the divorce turned his life upside down. The boys were wrapped up in their own world, while they waited to get on; which would be soon by her calculations. She could imagine how hard things are for those without passes. With a sigh, Vivienne glanced around hoping to find an adult to converse with. There was no luck at first, then she turned behind and got lucky with a new arrival. “Hey…are you looking forward to the river raft adventure?” She smiled at the person behind her. “I think we might be on the menu,” she joked, in reference to the Jurassic Park ride’s description. On second thought she should have opened with something else, “Sorry that was lame,” she chuckled. 

This was everything Liliana favored about being an aunt. The countless amount of adventures and seeing the excitement upon her niece and nephews faces. Things only got further animated when she mentioned Universal Hollywood Studios to the three Jackson kids. Remembering her days prior of a conversation with Serenity and how she promised to give the couple a break away from the kids. Getting them into the car was easy, seeing how quick they were out the door after planting kisses on their parents cheeks and getting buckled in before Liliana got to the car. She thought over how clueless she’d be on handling the twins. After all, they were young and in such a sizable amusement park. Perhaps, she didn’t think the plan too far ahead. Yet with the help of Ana, their much older sister, Liliana felt a sudden wave of ease when the girl informed her over the extra helping hands. They walked along the path, check out the lines and needed to decide which one would’ve been their first for the day. Eventually deciding on a Jurassic Park theme ride, Liliana had proceed alongside with the twins after Ana immediately entered the line first. A clear coated smile placed upon her lips, having missed spending time with the Jackson kids. Seeing how the younger twin boys overheard the music over the PA system and started to dance around, even getting their sister along. The sight alone caused her smile to widen, if physically possible, at how pure they all were. This would’ve been something she would’ve love to experience if a possible family ever came close to her again. Now, she just got to live through the Jacksons. “Hi there, sure I am. Anything to see those kids smile. Any chance a figure of Chris Pratt will appear?” She politely smiled toward the other, chuckling. “Are we sure this is kid friendly? Description is rather misleading.” Immediately picking a joke at the description, knowing her mature state of mind had gotten the worse of her. Still, laughing it off before shaking her head, “Definitely not. It could’ve been worse. How long have you guys been waiting?”

In desperate need of coffee the brunette beauty made her way into the local coffee shop, lifting a finger to get the attention of the barista. Taking a seat at the counter she grabbed a napkin and placed it in front of her, “a double Ristretto.” Watching the male scurry away to make her order, Talia shook her feet anxiously waiting.

There was no rush for Liliana to get back to the office. With how chaotic her schedule was, still finding the chance and a moment to herself was favored. It was something she strangely needed it. She figured it was pleasing enough to focus on yourself when life always made her put other needs first. Plus, the female was never someone to miss up on caffeine. It was everything to get through twelve hour work days. Glancing down at her iPhone, refreshing her email and seeing the pour of messages being received from the firm and clients were an instant ping. Biting inside of her cheek, brows furrowed before pressing and reading the first message which caused an instant sight, dramatic enough to shut her iPhone and shake her head. Of course, she would’ve expected this individual to have gone out of their way and complicated the case. That was the thing with her clients. She told them to stay silent, listen and they think social media helps the matters? Definitely not. The moment instantly being cut with hearing mumbles from behind the counter at the barista, giving her a brief chuckle before lifting to take a sip of her own coffee. “Interesting.” Liliana questions with a chuckle, unaware of who she was directing this to or forcing her own worries to be pushed aside. Taking a glance to her side, witnessing a female beside her but not catching a fine glimpse of the other, “You did that?” Indicating the scurried male from moments prior.

─ SERENITY JACKSON ;

As it was revealed to her that Lili wasn’t putting herself out to date at the moment, Serenity couldn’t but frown, shaking her head at her friend. “Oh come on, if you don’t take the offer now, what are the chances that you’d find another old male that you’d give pills to and then he dies?” She asked, cocking a brow at the other before she herself began to smile once she saw that Lil had just did the same thing. It had been a while, and although it wasn’t long since she last saw her it felt as if it was. “It’s about a year now, we’d finally and officially settled in the house, which is a big upgrade from the one we had before and that one pretty big for a family of five, and well this one…..it’s like mansion, and if Erik keeps it up soon we’ll have a castle.” She added with a laugh, “but after the wedding we officially became permanent here. I kind of like it to, although I do miss New York, here I wouldn’t have to worry about the cold weather and bundling up my boys with five blankets just to take them out, cause god only knows how anal I am about them getting sick.” She shrugged her shoulders, “when the hell did you move here?”

As much as Liliana completely adores Serenity and all of her attempts of setting her up, this time will not work out. She’d rather take the disappointment from her friend. Playfully rolling her eyes, Liliana can’t resist a smile from appearing. “Every time you say that, I need to remind myself that I am not some desperate sugar baby looking for money. The last thing I need is to get a reputation around Los Angeles about dating these old guys. I’d be the one ready to drop faster than them.” She comments with a heavy ounce of her joking. “Anyway, are we really going to categorize Erik as old? I’ve heard talk about two birds talking about him dropping dead any second.” Speaking sternly, she attempts to hold back a chuckle from escaping her lips but it didn’t last long. Of course she heard about Cassie, Serenity’s best friend, talking and teasing about how old Erik was. It picked up around town. “I was hoping to see some familiar faces around Los Angeles. It was starting to get lonely here. But, I’m glad my favorite dream team is currently here. I need to caught up with my niece and nephews immediately. I still remember their favorite snacks.” She was instant to beam at the mention of kids. “Beautiful wedding, I don’t think I’ve told you that enough but I was thankful to be apart of the experience. You know, if you ever need some time with Erik, I can handle all three of the kids while you two have your time. Any excuse to not work on the weekends.” She interjects with laughter, although highly uncommon for Liliana to part from her workaholic tendencies. But if the kids were involved, even for a couple of hours, so be it. Nose scrunching at Serenity’s question, taking moments longer to even answer, “A year now. Don’t smack me. I’ve been busy with work!”

“Okay, I know I said we’ll come out have some food, get shit faced and go home, but that doesn’t mean you have to give me that pouty look when you have a plate of chicken parm in front of you. If you don’t eat, i’ll take you the hospital and hook you up on tubes, and guess what……there’s no alcohol allowed.” She glared at her friend, “come on Lil, i’m trying to be happy here, can’t you try with me?”

“Listen, the last thing I want to do is be sitting here in this state. You know how much I adore chicken parmesan. That alone is one of the reasons why I left work early for this. Well, beside having you as company because you know I adore you.” She sternly informs with a grin which instantly disappears moments later. It wasn’t like everything in her life has instantly turned upside down but she did not need this unnecessary drama. Her mother was no-longer present in her life. Would that wicked witch make rounds like Jaxon recently has? Over her dead body would she want that. Not like she didn’t mind to see her ex boyfriend but not under these circumstances now. “If we are drinking, I am going to need the entire bottle to myself. I’m feeling greedy tonight, okay?” Glancing around the restaurant in desperation for their server waving them over when a chance is given. All of her attention falls back to Freya, scrunching her nose. “Don’t hook me up to the tubes. You know how whiny I can get and I’ll make your shift a living hell. I’m listening and I’m present in the moment. Also, I’m happy for you. Always have been, Freya.”

Jaxon hadn’t been all the sure about a lot in his life. He went with the flow, did what he thought was right, only to end up hallow and angry. The darkness, the bitter he felt, for what would’ve been years by now, he had found comfort in those things. So, giving it up, well, that was much more difficult then most would think. This would be how he’d come to find himself standing outside of Liliana’s law firm. His back up against the side of the building, as he continued to wrestle with the idea of making his way up to see her. An idea he knew she wouldn’t exactly be glad about. Inhaling sharply, on the cigarette, for one last time, before throwing it to the floor, and putting it out with his foot. A newer habit, yet, not one he was particularly proud of. Sighing, he made his way into the building, hands shoved into the pockets of the leather jacket. His eyes skimmed through the room, not quite sure where he was going, or where he was supposed to start. Letting out a Goran, he made his way up to the desk, and placed his elbows upon his harden surface. “Where can I find Liliana Pisano?” He asked the older woman, who would only seem to reply with the end of a pen pointing at something behind him. Turning slightly, green hues would fall upon the woman in question.

Liliana’s entire life had lived upon past mistakes. All of those mistakes that caused her to run away from one of the best things to happen to her. Yet, she couldn’t live in that mind set anymore. As much as she wanted tried on filling those empty pieces of the story, it came to an instant fall. It was an attempt. That much can be admitted. Still, in the beginning of her transition in a new city, Liliana struggled and thought of the ‘what if’s’. Within weeks, that mindset had fallen from her grasp and work had became her entire focus. All of those hard years of law school brought her to the satisfaction and the happiness of her life. It may not be her forever happiness. Still, work occupied her and kept her wide awake. Sleep was rare but doing something, being someone had washed away all of her once worries. No longer having the worry in the back of her conscience. Things were looking substantial for her. It was about time. Or so, she thought. Stepping out of the conference room, she kindly showed clients out of the law firm before stopping dead in her tracks. Nothing but an instant tighten of her jaw, an instant wave of cold fell over her. An uncomfortable shiver rolling down her spine, before arms crossed over her chest and chuckling harshly, “You have some nerve showing up here.” She coldly reminds him, aware of how unfriendly Liliana turned out to be. An entire year earlier was when she asked him to move to Los Angeles with her. It was her attempt to fix things with them. For some reason, she believed if he ever loved her then all would work toward their favor. Who was she even kidding? It all lead to her making a fool of herself. “What do you want, Jaxon?”

Sitting at his stool at a local bar not far from his apartment, Aiden was just on his way back from the Jackson’s and was heading home when he decided that he needed a drink. As he glanced down at his phone he took in the date and shook his head. It was Samantha’s birthday. If hadn’t been at his best friend’s house he would have been in a bar all day, drunker then shit. It wasn’t to late to start was it? As he made his way in he took a seat on the stool and ordered himself a double shot of bourbon, until someone filled the seat beside him.

It being a long weekend, Liliana didn’t have many plans. Or any plans at all. Although, a few offers were extended to her co workers for annual parties but her heart didn’t lie there. It was taking her time to adjust to Los Angeles. Hardly a time and place for Liliana to get lost in her thoughts and handle them. Believe it or not, she loved to think and get lost unlike before. Breaking the locks of her past in New York did bring some joy, time to grow up and realize her previous lifestyle wasn’t ideal for living. Although, there were evident cracks in what Liliana wants but she fought for him - them - failing miserably. Frequently reminiscing upon the past, her heart wonders what could’ve been now and how he’s handling himself. It was the soft, love sicken teenage Liliana thinking about Jaxon again. She didn’t know what to do on this weekend. It wasn’t like Liliana to fly out to New York and visit Hazel, knowing she’d have to find a time to do so. Preferably Christmas to see her niece and nephew. So ending up here, in a bar and beside a strange individual wasn’t much of a surprise for her. Instantly calling the bartend over a Dos Aquis before he disappears. Glancing at the individual beside her moments later, taking in a careful observation before speaking, “Hey, what’s your choice of poison tonight?” She asks politely, attempting to stir up a conversation.

─ SERENITY JACKSON ;

Normally in the morning Serenity would go out for a run, but today since coming to know that Dylan was back, the blonde entrusted her that morning to watch over the kids while she did her morning routine instead of the usual Aiden. But as the blonde was running, suddenly hunger consumed her and she decided she had to get a latte that morning before heading back to the house. Just as she was walking out of the coffee shop, with a chai latte with whip cream and a cherry on top, a familiar face came into her view. “Liliana?” She said, unsure if the women was indeed the person she was assuming it to be. “Girl, I heard Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently single, you gotta hit that up. Tap that quick. There’s lots of pension money after he dies…..think about it all you have to do is hand him his pills, and probably ride him like twice a week….”

A year it had been in Los Angeles. Where much of her time spent occupied with her tedious work days but she wouldn’t change it for the world. It had been the easiest route after her failed attempt to get Jaxon to join her. Who was she kidding? Months, plenty of months of opening up their decade long wounds had failed. Part of her didn’t want to feel anything, think about him and how she had gotten the similar treatment back. It had stung. Right to the point where she openly witnessed the loss of her friend during the process. The recovery part was quite complicated. Along with the tension with Jaxon, this part of her time had been rather lifeless. And, Liliana hates to admit it but having him, even if it unexpected texts and fights happened, that was more to her than anything. Having made a quick run out of the office, she had successfully gotten herself a quick bite and coffee for the long evening. It was hearing her name from a familiar voice instantly cause Liliana to turn, smiling. “Serenity,” she speaks up before a laughter escapes at her latter words. “Is that so? I hate to break it to you but I’m currently trying to hold off on the dating field.” Instantly shooting down the idea of Serenity’s dating attempts, perhaps another time, not when cases were loaded. Eventually a shrug rolled off, glancing around at the surroundings before mustering a smile. “When did you move to Los Angeles?”
