GO BABY GO
I love this. I *love* this.
Not only does the child have the rhythm and their part down precisely, but also, they are clearly doing the very-small-child thing of reserving exactly nothing.
Children have to learn not to use all of the force they're capable of, adults mostly never use all of the force they are capable of, but here someone has given this child exactly the opportunity to use all of the force their body can produce, and do it musically.
The glee of that all-out effort in a context where clearly the people around them approve and appreciate their contribution? Amazing.

a lot of the fun stuff that people who complain about pretentious people watch sucks at being fun
what's communism viewed like in germany? has there been growth in the movement? sorry im just curious because it seems everyone i see in the german side of tumblr drags the corpse of the "tankies" around and i wanted to know whats it like in reality as opposed to online
yes it has seen growth, largely by students from what I know. However workers are mostly alienated from this, therefore the movement is scarce and by large still dead

Gotta tell you guys something wild in the Chinese fan sphere
So some fanartist drew a âsexyâ (read: booby) version of a (cartoon) character who is traditionally very non-sexualised. Fans of the character got mad about it because itâs kind of groundbreaking how that character is written and portrayed and this art totally ignores the entire point of the character. They demanded the art be deleted. In response to that other people said, well what the fanartist did may be distateful but they have every right to draw what theyâre into. The two sides fight for days and each starts a harassment campaign and even report their âopponentsââ accounts.
So far so typical. But things eventually come to a head and they decide that this will be settled by votes - not through a poll. Through donations to a childrenâs education charity via each sideâs portal. Whoever can get the highest amount of donation wins.
And that is how this charity received over 1 million in donations in three days lol. Oh btw the âfreedom of expressionâ side won by a landslide (960k to 40k)
From now on this is how all petty fandom disputes should be settled.
Both donation groups finished collecting donations on May 31st, and the charity has since reached out to the "freedom of expression" group's organizers to notify them that their donations will be specifically allocated to girls. The charity works with schools to allow impoverished students to go to high school (which isn't free in China), so they will be distributing 7500 RMB each for 128 girls to attend their 3 years of high school.
Also for anyone curious, the character is Luye from The Legend of Hei II. Official design vs. the fanart under the cut:
I get where the people upset with the fanart is coming from but this is clearly a case of just block and move on. Im glad at least something good came out of it
