Pimburattewa Tank in Sri Lanka, a marvel of ancient engineering, was constructed by King Parakramabahuin the 12th century. This impressive structure was designed for water storage and irrigation, highlighting the sophisticated hydraulic systems developed by ancient Sri Lankan civilizations
The Lotus Temple in New Delhi, India, is a stunning Baha'i House of Worship shaped like blooming lotus flower. lts 27 marble petals form an intricate, futuristic design surrounded by reflecting pools, making it look like it's floating. lluminated at night, the temple is both serene and surreal, drawing millions of visitors annually for its beauty and symbolism of unity.
The Hollywood Sign originally read "Hollywoodland" and was built in 1923 as a temporary real estate and with 50-foot-tall letters lit by 4,000 bulbs. Meant to last 18 months it became an icon but fell into disrepair in the 1940s. The "Land" was removed, shaping the sign we know. There are real photos of the original sign and its decay before restoration.
The "Doll island" in Xochimilco, Mexico, is covered in decaying, headless dolls hanging from trees. The legend says a man, Julian Santana Barrera, collected them after finding a drowned girl's body, believing the dolls were haunted by her spirit. Over time, more dolls appeared, and many visitors reporte erie phenomena like strange sounds and the feeling of being watched.
Owls' eyes reflect red in the dark due to a laver called the tapetumlucidum, which enhances their night vision by reflecting light back through the retina. The red color comes from blood vessels in the retina reflecting certain wavelengths of light

what's communism viewed like in germany? has there been growth in the movement? sorry im just curious because it seems everyone i see in the german side of tumblr drags the corpse of the "tankies" around and i wanted to know whats it like in reality as opposed to online
yes it has seen growth, largely by students from what I know. However workers are mostly alienated from this, therefore the movement is scarce and by large still dead
