Reauditions. Lilly wanted to groan, but that would only get her glares from the other dancers. What did she have to worry about? She was the lead dancer and everyone knew she could probably not even try at her audition and still keep her position. That didn’t mean Lilly wouldn’t try, of course. She didn’t see a point in dancing if she wasn’t going to try her best. Auditioning again was just a hassle.
As a result of the auditions, the dancers had tonight off, which meant Lilly, for once, had a free evening once her lessons in Greenwich Village were over. It was a minor miracle and she was in a very good mood as she walked through the Manhattan streets, window-shopping. She wasn’t sure what she was going to do today, maybe go see Snoddy or Itey or go to sleep early. But that would be later, right now she had nothing to do and was starting to get very bored as she slowly made her way through the street, pausing to look in shop windows at what was for sale.
