how do you stop hating yourself? how do you stop hating things about yourself that you used to love or not care about? I’m so tired of feeling this way. no one has been able to reassure me. no words have impacted me like the way they used to. I am envious of those who feel beautiful. I can hardly recognize the feeling

I miss you, buddy. what is supposed to be happiest day of the year for me, actually feels quite sad. for 14 years, we have shared our birthday celebrations. I remember rejoicing at the news that your birthday was in April, just like mine. I had never met anyone else with a birthday in April. the house still feels empty. you occupied a small space, but god it feels empty. your harness is still in the drawer. the bowl with your name on it is still in its spot. your teeth marks are still on the staircase. that spot on the couch is still reserved for you. you were supposed to be here today. we were supposed to take a picture together. have our family sing happy birthday to us. blow out the candles together. share some cake together. today feels empty without you, max. I hope we can celebrate together again some day. happy birthday to us, my sweet boy!
