Finally made it out to the pumpkin farm yesterday! 🎃 It was cold, but lots of fun. We ate caramel apples and I thought I was possibly going to lose a child in a corn maze 👌😂 . This was a tough one for me to think of, maybe that’s part of the procrastination. 😅 Um, I think choosing to move forward, let go, and not feel ashamed that my life isn’t in the place I pictured it being in. 14/31: What would your younger self be proud of you for today? . That I’m kind of figuring out this adulting thing. That I have a job that allows me to be creative and help others. That I have two super cool and sweet kids. That even though my dreams and goals have grown and changed with me, I’m still striving for bigger and better things. . 15/31: What are you afraid to ask for? What do you need to speak up about? . Help. I always want to prove I can do things on my own. Whether that's to prove that I can or I’m just too embarrassed to ask for help. I also can be particular about things, so I tend to think it’s just easier to do things myself because then they’ll be done the way I want. I was a big slacker. 😬😂 I had a super refreshing weekend away, but the first couple days back into reality were long lol. So here it goes, catching up... . 10/31: How can you set better boundaries in your life? . I need to me more conscious of the commitments I make and either get better about following through, or saying no if it makes me feel overwhelmed. Sometimes I take on too much because I don’t want to disappoint anyone but then I don’t follow through or don’t do it to my full ability because I just took on more than I can handle. It’s okay to say no. . 11/31: How would you describe yourself, in a loving way, to a stranger? . I think I come off as pretty quiet and probably awkward at first, but eventually you’ll find that I’m fun and weird. I go with the flow and like trying new things. I care a lot for those that choose to spend their time with me. I’ve been told I’m and old soul. . 11/31: What things make you feel happy to be alive? . My kids, my family, my friends, my dog. Such an amazing weekend with part of my salon family at #avedacongress ❤️ I'm so blessed to have a boss (@yvonneculver 😘) that inspires and encourages me and helps me be able to do super cool things like this to help further my education. It was also super amazing to see hair and makeup artists I've admired from Instagram in person and even be able to breifly meet a couple of my idols (@ianmichaelblack & @jgeason 😍) I can't wait for the next opportunity I can find to take a class with one of them! AND I've fallen even more in love with @aveda after being reminded and further educated about all the company does and stands for. They are truly a brand I can align myself with and want to share with all my guests. 09/31: What is something in your life that you need to get rid of? - - I didn't realize it until this weekend, but I have become very complacent in my career. I need to get rid of that comfort zone and remember what drew me into this industry in the first place. I have been so inspired by the amazing creative artistry that was presented at Aveda Congress. - Not only was I inspired to be artistic and creative in my craft, I was also reminded at how powerful my job is and that I cannot take that for granted.
