2. The one who was more interesting over texts
This one I was super excited about. She was super pretty, and really interesting, and the conversation was mostly great and quick. After a month of back and forth on OkCupid and then text, and some racy AF snapchatting, we finally had a date.
And it sucked.
We had agreed to meet at this upscale shopping center, for coffee and then to wander around chatting and getting to know each other for a while, and then joining some of my friends for a double date for dinner.
Except.
She couldn’t keep up with me. Both conversation wise and in walking around. When I asked a question it was a brief response with no follow up, just like my last date. I felt like I was steamrolling her. And so I suggested we wander around for a while, thinking maybe the face to face thing was too much pressure. But she needed a break every like five minutes, which made me super fidgety. I’m not a super active person by any means, but I can wander around a mall for an hour without needed a break, y’know?
And on a purely shallow note, let’s politely say she was just really good at taking pictures. I walked right by her when I walked into Starbucks because I just flat out did not recognize her. I’ll give her credit thought, homegirl really knows her angles. Call me horrible or whatever, but at least with my online dating profile what you see is what you get.
After an hour or so of complaining that her feet hurt and that she probably should have worn pants instead of a dress because her thighs were rubbing together and that she usually just sat and watched Netflix for dates, I suggested we could see a movie or something, or grab food. But she tapped out, so we went back to our cars. We were still chatting, so I turned the AC on in my car and told her she could sit in there with me, but she opted to sit on the floor on the parking garage instead. Which was kinda weird. I asked if she still felt up to grabbing dinner with my friends but she tapped out, and I said whatever. She gave me an awkward hug, and I skipped off to my best friend’s boyfriend’s house (it’s not weird we’re good friends and she was also there) and we discussed it and both of them were weirded out too. She briefly texted me something vague about getting coffee, so I said sure whenever she felt like it, and I haven’t heard anything since, so whatever. I’m not overly invested in her, I had been super excited about it but she turned out to be really disappointing.
Maybe the next one will be fun?
