There a difference in being interested in/Fascinated by Japan and being an obnoxious weeaboo who overidealizes the place and act as if it’s perfect, fixates on everything it churns out to an obnoxious and obsessive degree, reducing the country down to being nothing more than a hip place that churns-out anime and manga when there is far more to it than that, butchering the language and infantalizing Japanese people by saying how “kawaii” they are.

Interest in Japan is not synonymous with weeabooism. Having a rational interest in any other nation doesn’t make you some kind of “weeaboo” towards them either. I for one as a Brit find it awesome when non-Brits take an interest in my country and it’s culture especially if they don’t have stereotypical beliefs and expectations of it
