remus lupin.
To say that the full moon had gone well was an understatement. Well maybe it wasn’t, but no bones had been broken and for Remus it was good enough for him to feel satisfied. James, Sirius and Peter had all been there after three months of scattered companionship, and he could tell that their presence had helped a great way. Yet and as always, there was still a deep exhaustion that had crept its ways in each one of his bones, making him unable to do more than reading or… Sleeping. Thus, he had slept through the day and he was now laying on the living room’s couch, huddled under the comfiest blanket of the flat with the Picture of Dorian Gray resting on his chest, a cup of warm tea waiting on the floor. Sirius was working a night shift at the bar and the only noise around was coming from the pages being turned.
That’s why, when the fireplace roared to life as someone unexpectedly appeared in their flat, Remus nearly fell off the couch in a littany of muttered obscenities all directed at Merlin. He looked up at the visitor and raised two eyebrows at the sight of a disoriented Lily. “What the bloody hell are you doing here? And why didn’t you use the door?” He asked in a gruffy voice as he sat up with a hand clenched to his chest, containing a wince at the pain in the back of his neck. “Seriously you just gave me a heart attack Lily.”
she was surprised, but relieved, to see remus. out of all the fireplaces she could’ve fallen into, this was by far one of the better options. she didn’t even want to think about what could have happened if she’d appeared, without warning, in a stranger’s house. “ --- you know i LOVE you, remus, so i mean it in the best possible way when i say i did not intend to come here, ” lily grumbled, threading her hand through her hair and glancing mournfully at her sooty fingers. she glanced at remus just in time to catch his wince, suddenly realizing how exhausted he looked. of course -- the full moon had been just last night. she’d forgotten. “ --- i can make a sleeping draught for you, if you like, ” she said in a softer tone. “ --- or something to ease the pain. ”
