Cerulean eyes gaze around, a soft smile forming on her lips. How long had it been since she’d simply enjoyed her surroundings like this, without a care in the world. Mei felt completely at peace, her company the calm breeze and thoughts of those dear to her. “I really miss everyone. I hope they’re doing well.”

Perhaps he’d started thinking too much about his past again, and regretting things that weren’t entirely his fault (Mei would argue none of it was his fault). “Please don’t say things like this..! I don’t want to think about you not being here anymore!” The moment she found out something had happened to him, well...a piece of her would be forever lost. A piece she didn’t think she could go on without. “Everything that’s happened, I know it wasn’t your fault. You, me, everyone in Plasma was manipulated. Your intentions were innocent, and I know you still have pure intentions.”

Cerulean eyes shift focus to the ground, her attempt not to let him see the blurriness coming over them. “You’ll have so many people remembering you-remembering the good things you’ve done, remembering how strong of a person you are. That’ll be your legacy...I’ll make sure of it.” Though, she had no intentions of letting him pass before her. No, not if it were in her power. “I will never forget you, or the things you’ve taught me.” Her already soft voice, gets quieter. “You’re...the reason I still hope. I don’t want to let you go. Please don’t think of yourself as a burden, because you’re not..!”

“~But, of course I’m only teasing.. Whoever he does or doesn’t choose is up to him. Though, that doesn’t stop me from mothering all of his friends– including you, Mei.”

If there came a time when Mei wasn’t being critical of herself, well, even she’d be surprised. She didn’t believe herself remarkable in the slightest, rather she saw herself as average (and that was at best). She decided to let the other’s comment pass, just offering a smile.

She and Touya were friends? It seemed like that fact hadn’t yet registered in her mind. She was friends with the hero. The hero considered someone like her, his friend. Cerulean eyes widen for a moment. “Thank you for your concern, ma’am, but you really don’t have to worry about me. I’ll be just fine...” Yes, fine living alone living by each paycheck. “Is there anything I can help you with? It was so kind of you to invite me over, so it’s the least I can do. I love to clean.”

“~Are you perhaps planning on having children?” And, just to tease the girl a little, she adds;

“~You know…I’ve always wanted grandchildren..I just happen to know a single son of mine..”

Her a sweet, young lady? That was one of the nicest things she’d been called in quite sometime.

“Oh, definitely.” The brunette answered the question without hesitation, a warm smile on her lips. It was Mei’s dream to start a family of her own, to be able to shower her children with the love of a mother, to teach them about the beauty of the world. Her deepest wish was to give them a better life than the one she has.

Wait a moment. Was she by chance hinting..! “A-ah, I don’t think I’m Touya’s type! H-he deserves someone much better, someone who’s truly remarkable.” A bright pink spread across her cheeks, at the thought. Touya deserved more than someone with a questionable past and emotional scars.

She can’t help but giggle, bringing a hand up to her mouth as she does. How lovely it was to meet this girl– Of course Touya would have such good taste in friends. She had raised him after all.

“~Isn’t he just? He looks so adorable in that bathtub… If only he were here now. He’d probably be so embarrassed.”

Meeting Touya’s mother was quite an honor to her, seeing as how the woman seemed so gentle and kind. Truthfully, her demeanor reminded Mei of her own mother...

“Yes, ma’am!” She agreed, knowing that he would indeed be embarrassed. The girl couldn’t blame Touya, though. If he saw her baby pictures, then he’d be convinced Mei was a superhero of some sorts-all of her dramatic poses and questionable fashion would give one that impression. If anyone got their hands on those photos, her life would be over. “I love babies, so much! I always enjoy when I get to see them do cute things like this.”

Mei has an absolute weakness for anything concerning babies: baby Pokemon, actual babies, baby pictures, you name it. Of course, she had to come and observe Touya’s photos. “Aww, he’s so cute!” The brunette gushed, grinning at the young hero’s expressions.

He did notice the cold, but it didn’t bother him in the slightest. He simply puffs out air, hugging her a little tighter. Perhaps she’d warm up if he rubbed her back?

He decides its worth a shot to try it, so he does.

“Yeah..I know. Just… Uh..Well if you ever feel lonely, I’m always here for you.”

Well, he hadn’t moved yet. Perhaps her body temperature didn’t bother him at all-something that genuinely surprised her. The moment Mei felt his palm against her back, she couldn’t fight her instinct to snuggle into him. The warmth of another person was such a gift to her, especially the warmth from someone so kind.

“Always?” She repeated, cerulean eyes widening. Oh, if only he knew. If she called on him whenever she felt lonely, then he’d never leave her side. “You don’t have to worry about me, like that. I’ll be okay with this. Just a hug like this is enough...” A peaceful smile adorned her lips.

Well now he just felt bad for her. Affection was such a casual thing to him that he shared it with anyone– but apparently it was not the case for Mei. How long had she gone without so much as a hug from someone else?

He scratches his head before stepping forward, wrapping his arms around her.

“I’m sorry…Really.”

Wait, why was he hugging her? Ah, did he perhaps have some pity for her?

“Touya...why are you apologizing? It’s okay, I promise.” The girl whispered, relaxing in his embrace. He felt so warm...just the sensation of a pair of arms around her was almost overwhelming. Though, she wondered whether or not he would notice how cold her body was in comparison. If so, this probably wasn’t as pleasant for him as for was to her.
