— SUMMARY;
Twin of Poppy Reed (he's 5-minutes younger), older brother to Laurel Reed, older half-brother to Jasmine Castillo St. Claire. Child of Silas Chamberlain and Alyssa Reed (deceased).
Silas is a dark cover leader in Boston who is currently imprisoned to avoid punishment from the Council for his magical crimes (exposing himself to humans).
Alyssa took her children away from Silas when they were young and moved them to Lunar cove. She remarried. She used memory charms on her children to alter their memories of Silas and their childhoods.
Linden's magic allowed him to find out about the memory charms when he was young, but their continued use caused him to question his sanity. To this day Linden has issues separating what he experiences because of his magic from his own thoughts/reality.
He was praised as a magic prodigy when he was young, however he was never able to fully control his magic and ended up being dismissed as a witch. He can direct his magic with great effort, but he generally cannot stop it from expressing itself when he doesn't want it to. He has full control over his telekinesis, but has has particular issues with his telepathy, being unable to 'turn it off'.
Since he was young he craved distraction so he would sneak out, fight, flirt, and abuse alcohol and drugs. When he was younger it was to keep himself grounded despite the use of the memory charms. As an adult these distractions keep his magic at bay and allow him to live a somewhat normal life.
Despite giving the impression that his is out of control and chaotic, Linden is incredibly disciplined in the chaos he uses to function. He has routines to ensure he never gets enough sleep, plans each day so that there is not enough down time to let his magic get too overwhelming, and has a schedule for what bars/clubs he may go to on any particular night if he needs that kind of distraction so that he won't run into his family/friends and cause them concern.
Linden hates his magic (aside from telekinesis) because he can't control it and no matter how hard he tried when he was younger, he could never reign it in. As an adult he has given up and would rather render it unusable than be attacked by it.
Several years after Poppy left town, Linden left to give himself a little distance and met a vampire he fell in love with, Elodie.
Elodie manipulated him by using her compulsion and knowledge she gained about his magic (and how it could be exploited) to mould him into her perfect partner - she would feed from him, and use him to find her other people to feed on. They would often bring other people into their bed and then she would feed from them. She would siphon his magic from him to give him some peace from his magic and he grew addicted to this.
Linden doesn't truly know if he loved her or if she created his feelings for her, nor does he know how she truly felt about him. He has trouble recalling his memories from this time, and some memories he has don't feel right, or feel completely fake. To this day he isn't certain the extent of what he did with Elodie.
One day she left with no explanation, and Linden has no idea why she disappeared
Linden returned to town shortly before the previous Supreme and his step-father were murdered. He is only staying in town because of his family, wanting to protect Poppy as she is now Supreme and the rest of his family who all live in Lunar Cove.

first arrived in Lunar Cove at approximately 5-6 years old;
attended college at Columbia University from 2007-2011, living in New York during the semester and returning to LC for breaks
completed his MFA at the LC campus of the University of Rhode Island from 2011-2013.
left LC in April 2014 and lived in Prague with Elodie, though primarily living in Prague they travelled around Europe together during this time.
Elodie disappeared in December 2021.
Linden arrived back in Lunar Cove in early February 2022.

Linden craves distraction to keep his mind straight, his magic alters with his perception of reality since he can't control it so he dampens his magic whenever he can, and sets specific routines in place to keep his world organised
He is a published author who writes literary horror and thriller novels, he has 3 published books, and a collection of short stories. He was first published at 22. He is a New York Times best selling author.
He also works at the Starlight Bar as a bartender for his sister to keep himself occupied. He doesn't really need to work there, but enjoys the work.
Linden has a bachelor of arts from Columbia University, majoring in Classics and minoring in English, and a MFA from the University of Rhode Island
He spent most of his life growing up Downtown since his step father, Miles, was the advisor to the coven.
Even before Elodie, Linden was convinced he couldn't have a real relationship because of his magic. He indulges in casual sex, but won't let anything progress beyond that. His relationship with Elodie caused him to distrust relationships.
Linden spends far too much of his money on books, his apartment being filled with them from floor to ceiling, to the point it is a safety hazard. He was always an avid reader, since he was a little kid.
He refuses to let people see his pain and suffering so he is always smiling and joking around.
He is allergic to bees.
Despite needing to keep some distance between people and himself, Linden dedicates himself to his friends; and once you're his friend you're his family. He will do anything for his family.
He is loyal to a fault, and it is often his undoing.
Linden has no trust for the Coven, figuring that they had to have something to do with the memory charms from his childhood, but remains a member because of Poppy.
