¥ #Solo Part Three ¥
¥ I walk inside #IRL looking around for #Sophia. I look up at the staircase when I hear the sound of her concern voice. "There you are. I was about to send a search party out for you." She steps off the last step and walk towards me. "Well, how did it go?" I give her a cheery smile and raise my leg pulling my jean up. "Liberated!" Her huge smile shows of her beautiful pearly white teeth. "About damn time." She walks around the bar bending down pulling out a bottle of champagne. "Time to celebrate. Drinks are on me!" I laugh shaking my head taking a seat on the stool next to the bar. "It's always on you." She gives me that you know it grin and turns grabbing two glasses down. "Don't you forget it." She sways the bottle in front of me. "Only the best!" I hope her cheerful mood doesn't catch on with my uncheerful mood. "Sophia, but…." She doesn't let me finish. She waves her hands in the air and shakes her head. "You bail on me and I will increase your rent." She takes a closer look at me. Shit! I knew my best friend would catch on. I shrug shaking my head. Her face drops into a frown. "Wait, you saw #Ben didn't you?" Damn it! You can't hide anything from her. I nod, no point in lying. "Yes, I really didn't have a choice. He was there." I look down feeling shame. I already know what she is about to tell me. She witness my days when I block out the world and stayed in PJs. "No, no, no, no we can't go through this again. I almost went to therapy over that break up." Her head is bouncing around while she moves around the counter. "I need something stronger." I laugh at her sudden change of mood, but do I blame her. No. I lean down on the counter and try to change my sadden mood for her. "It's fine #Sophia. It's done and over with. It's been over with for awhile now." She stands back up with a bottle with clear liquid in her hand. She studies my face for a little while. "That is exactly, what my mom kept saying when she left my father for years. You would think it was the piles of money, but it wasn't." That earn a chuckle on the seriousness her tone was. "#Sophia it was the money." She breaks into that huge smile showing her pearly white teeth again. She leans forward. "OK, partly, but you and #Ben have that love that steals a piece of your heart. Honey, if you don't feel it with someone else, you will be back." I sigh thinking at what she says. I love #Ben, but I know it's never going to happen. "It's over." I look down hoping that sounded convincing. I look back up at #Sophia with the face that says "yeah right". She shows me them pearly white teeth again. "Ok then. Tonight, we will have fun." I nod, while she pours the clear liquid in glasses sliding one at me. She raises the glass and I do the same. "Look #Ben broke your heart, but you have to go back out there start dating and live your life." I shake my head. "I'm living my life and a man doesn't define it." I raise my glass next to hers. "Oooo good point." We clink our glasses. "To freedom." I repeat it and toss the clear liquid back feeling a burning sensation run down my throat. I look at #Sophia making the same disgusted face. "We like need a lime or something." I nod and try to stifle a laugh. After an hour of being begged about coming out tonight, I finally agreed to go. I make my way inside our apartment throwing my keys in the basket making my way to my bedroom. I toss my bag on the bed walking to my laptop on my desk. I take a seat on the chair pushing a few keys opening the NYPD sign in page. I type a little more then the screen goes to password denied. I click a few more then the page comes up to the search. I type in Julia Becker's name and click enter. Nothing. I try her name with her last name first. Still nothing. I sit back in the chair sighing. "Where are you #JuliaBecker? I won't stop til I find you." ¥
