This is my Sequoia sempervirens (Coast Redwood). My family has had a ranch passed down through the generations since 1900 located in Santa Cruz, CA, in the midst of the coastal Redwood forest. It has always been our home away from home; personally, it is where I am truly content. Being there amongst the Redwoods makes me think of my grandparents (who are my ultimate role models) and even though they are gone now, I still feel them there. Now I’ll remember them every time I look down at my arm. Also, Redwood trees symbolize strength, stability, and growth, which are all characteristics I hope to possess throughout life. And if you didn’t know already, it is the California state tree. So wherever I end up settling in life, I’ll always remember my roots. This was done by Christina Ramos at True Tattoo in Hollywood and I praise her for the amazing job she did. Oh and for all of you who want to ask, “Did it hurt?” Probably one of the most painful experiences of my life, but it was worth it.
