After spatial interference on behalf of Unum, the mysterious stranger with the goal of befriending every person who currently exists, them and neighbors Steno and Igneo have ended up in the parallel world Phaara, stranded with no way back home. Luckily, the group runs into Kori, a teen-aged physicist who might be able to get them home!

She can't. Dimensional travel is extremely complicated as well as dangerous, leaving the four searching for the best possible way to handle their situation. Tensions are rising in the group and options are slim. Will Unum and their new friends make it back home, or will they succumb to each other?
