Just a quick reminder to one tea drinker to another,

Just because it is not your favorite cup of tea does not mean it is not tea. It just means you don't like that tea and that is ok. Either way that tea is still tea.

I need some help understanding this.

So... its not ok to call a stranger that is man cute.

But calling a stranger that is a man adorable is fine.

Why? I found them cute so why do I have to call them adorable instead of cute when I found them cute.

I do not get it.

Voting

Can I encourage people to vote and not vote myself? The last time I tried to vote it was so overwhelming that I decided for my own mental health not to do it. There is s problem though. Those around me that are strong in politics are saying I need to for those who are like me but can't do so. The "those that are like me" they are referring to is others with autism that don't have the capability to do so. I know the bible talks about voting. It talks about not getting caught up in politics but also it talks about that we need to align our politic decisions with Christ. I may be wrong with what I am saying so please read scripture for yourself and do your own research. One thing is for sure politics can become another idol if we let it. We need to let God take control. For now I wont vote, but I will still encourage others to do so.

Yeah... But how are you AFTER school?

Do you shutdown? Struggle to do homework because your brain can't handle any more input? Are you extra sensitive to smells, noise etc, so that even dinner cooking can smell overwhelming? Do you sleep in on the weekends and want to do nothing whilst your friends are going out and having parties but you can't even shower?

This is called masking. You are surviving school, but nothing more.

*Note: not all autistics can mask. Not all autistics go to standard school. This is just from my POV.

How often to do u do this?

For my experience, I'd say I don't have thoughts like that very often. Maybe once out of 10-15 posts. The rest of the time I feel like I get "meh" to "mid" to "this is why you're my favorite website!" XD

Things my husband does that makes me feel safe as an autistic:

Accepts that my ability to talk fluctuates, sometimes within minutes.

Let's me use my text to speech app without any pressure to hurry up.

Makes my meals since I've lost that skill due to burnout.

Reminds me of things like my ear muffs or weighted blanket when I'm overwhelmed.

Still jokes with me and shows love even when I'm having flat affect or lacking facial expressions.

Doesn't touch my nest because he knows it's my safe space.

Loves me unconditionally
