"Microsoft has built a Linux distro" Oh please, its an SDN cloud appliance, and its not like they haven't released UNIX before. Also, to all the people quoting "If Microsoft ever does applications for Linux it means I've won.", suosedly from Linus, Skype is Microsoft now, and the Linux client is still under (somewhat) active development.
Honestly I'm suprised they didnt use BSD, since its networking, and so many embedded switch and router OSs are based on BSD.
