it takes a moment for liam to notice the purring, & another moment beyond that to recognize it for what it is. he’s smiling, amused, once it registers. he’s never heard marek purr before, but it isn’t all that surprising given the fact he’s a werelion, & he actually likes the sound of it. he continues to massage marek’s back, hoping to keep the gentle purring going.
“there’s too much history between us,” liam argues, sighing. he gets where the lion is coming from, & doesn’t blame him for the hopeful interest. “& very little of it is good. some of the things that happened….” he shakes his head. “i might be willing to give theo a second chance & work along side him, but forgiveness isn’t as easy. he’d be happier with someone that doesn’t remind him of the things he did before.”
fingers immediately move to the other’s neck as he tries to stretch it out, digging into the taut muscles to try & loosen them up further. “i don’t know,” liam answers honestly, shrugging even though marek can’t see the movement. “that’s my biggest problem. &, honestly….something i’d rather try & figure out with mason’s help…no offense.”
his eyes remained closed, the purring steady as liam kept on massaging his back and neck, skilled hands busying themselves at all the right spots. he was pretty much an asshole for doing this though, right? telling liam just how perfect him and his brother would be together, and now he was sharing a bath tub with said werewolf. such a hypocrite.
he wasn’t going to argue liam’s words any further, and instead decided to just sit in silence, the only sounds around them the gentle movement of the water and marek’s soft purring. hands found their way to liam’s legs, fingers gently tracing the other’s skin, thumbs rubbing circles into it.
