They may very well not have the means for much to start with unless they use some nefarious means to get it but they will manage as they have since they joined forces in this realm. He imagines what a small home would feel like surrounded by nature and her small orchard growing within it. “That would be lovely. It would take time to pull together but we could have it, Regina.“
Reaching to caress her cheek he snuggles into her, and lets his imagination wander to what their home may look like when it is finished. "I don’t suppose it would take long at all if your magic cut a few corners for us. Building aside I would like for us to have a proper bed and there’s no way of dragging that deep into a forest.”
Regina nodded, wanting nothing more than everything he’d just promised her. She wasn’t about to stand in the way of her own happiness by stopping anything that the two of them would carefully make for themselves. She nuzzled into his hand, eyes fluttering closed. "We have the time, Robin.”
She smirked as he mentioned her magic helping them out with certain things. “Oh, that I could, my dear sweet love.” She kissed him softly, nuzzling her nose against his before she rested her head on his shoulder. “A proper bed and a few other modern amenities. Shouldn’t be too hard.”
Her hand moved up his back, gently stroking it as she let her mind wander to what their life could be like here when they finally allowed their happiness to take priority for a moment. “I want it all with you, Robin.”
“When you say *modern amenities* what are you thinking of?” Robin is rather curious as he settles a blanket over her to keep her warm more so than himself. He has always run a little hot and that finally might work in his favor if they take up a place of residence where the seasons grow rather cold for part of the year. He wouldn’t at all mind keeping her warm. Already day dreaming of the future he tries to mentally work backwards as to how they might make it possible. Can they truly disappear? There’s something that doesn’t seem at all right about removing themselves from the narrative and leaving everyone else to fend for themselves. On the other hand he also believes they have given far more than should be expected of anyone. “A life with you is all that I need. I no longer want for anything that I desired before we met, and yes a turn at helping others is wonderful but I would rather settle for simply living with you by my side.”
lionoflocksley:
Relief flows through him that all has gone well with Henry, and that she won’t have to suffer further separation because of him. He hadn’t actually thought that would be the case but it was something that had been possible. Now that they’re among the safety of the trees he relaxes into her embrace and catches the hint of mischief in her gaze.
Robin reaches up to cradle her cheek against his palm and smiles down at her. “Is that so? What pray tell does a proper kiss feel like my queen? I need an example or two to better understand it.” He smiles waiting for her to lean in and kiss him though he’s anxious enough that he may very well curl his fingers around her nape and pull her into a kiss because he’s tired of waiting.
“I missed you,” he admits. “Best educate me before your son arrives.”
Regina cannot help the smile that tugged at her lips at his teasing. She loved that only he could evoke that much sheer joy and love within her. It’s pure and untainted, and she desperately wanted to keep it from ever being tarnished in any way. “Is that so, thief?”
She rose on her tiptoes, pressing her mouth softly to his at first. Then she tilted her head as her hand moved up to the nape of his neck where she played with the hair that her fingers found there. She moaned softly as her mouth opened to him, deepening the kiss. She could educate him quite properly.
Her chest pressed into his as her other arm goes around his lower back and held him to her. As the kiss ended, she slowly lowered herself so that her feet were flat on the ground. She smiled up at him. “Do you need a further demonstration?” She’d be happy to kiss him until Henry showed up if that’s what he wanted.
Having been soundly kissed he finds himself wrapped up in her arms and her feet are just barely touching ground again. His feet most certainly are not, and his head is somewhere high in the heavens quite content without how the last few minutes have gone. No matter how alluring that kiss was, or how his soul stirred itself into pure contentment, it is her smile that has him fixated upon her in such a way that he wouldn’t care if a giant came stomping past them. With an unwavering focus he reaches up to cradle her cheek against his palm then slips his fingers slowly through her hair. “I will never turn down feeling your soft lips pressed against mine or your touch for the matter. Do we risk being caught out?” Robin’s ears wiggle ever so slightly to punctuate a mirthful point.
Only Chance I’ll Take
lionoflocksley:
His heart is so full as his arms wind loosely about her waist holding her close as they can be, and he resists touching his forehead to hers. “Aye, I know. I am going to have to learn to let go. It may take some time but I have had him all his life, and have rarely been parted from him.” It’s something that he doesn’t think any parent is ever ready for but it can be managed. Being parted from your child doesn’t make you love them any less, and he knows that Roland won’t think that his father doesn’t want him. Marian deserves time with Roland to get to know him, and be his mother. Robin isn’t about to take time away from either of them unless Marian will not allow him to have any time with their son at all.
“I know that I just saw you earlier but gods you’re beautiful.” With a soft smile he leans in kissing her lips softly. “How did your afternoon go beloved? Is everything alright?”
Regina understands Robin’s plight whole-heartedly. When Emma had first shown up in town, Henry had wanted to leave her behind altogether and go and be with Emma. It had broken her heart in ways that she hadn’t known possible, but thankfully, they had worked through all of that, and she was no longer the Evil Queen. She was good, or she was trying to be.
Old habits were hard to break sometimes.
She cups his cheek, nuzzling his nose with her own and sighs softly. “She’s going to come around.” She has a faith now that she hadn’t in the past. A faith that Henry and Emma and the Charmings have helped to bestow in her.
She nods at his question. “Everything is perfect. Well, almost,” she admits as her eyes dance. “Henry is allowed to be with whichever of us that he chooses whenever he chooses. Unless he’s playing one of us against the other to get his way.” But that wasn’t Henry’s way so she doesn’t feel that will affect their arrangement anytime in the near future.
“He’ll be here to join us soon. I wanted to come first. Give you a proper hello.” Her eyes spark with mischief and sheer joy.
Relief flows through him that all has gone well with Henry, and that she won't have to suffer further separation because of him. He hadn't actually thought that would be the case but it was something that had been possible. A better man would insist that they stay to sort out the mess that is the kingdom but he isn’t even though he has changed somewhat. After all of the losses that he has suffered in his life he too wants to be selfish. Is it really wrong to want to have a life and a family? They can’t have that within this kingdom but it is possible elsewhere.
A little breathless after a fiercely passionate kiss he searches her dark eyes and feels his heart starting to race at a mad pace. “I can’t believe that you are agreeing to this. Well — that’s not entirely true I can believe it but it still seems somewhat like a dream to me. Does that make any sense, beloved? I want for nothing more than this, and I don’t care where we end up so long as we’re together and we have a fairly decent home.” Because of his past he teases, “A roof and walls would be lovely.”
Regina smiles at him. She knows what he’s trying to say to her, and she, too, cannot believe that she’s agreed to this. All of her life, she wanted desperately to be loved the way that he loves her now. She has his love, his devotion, and she wants to give that back to him in every way. She knows things won’t be as easy as they dream they could be, but there wasn’t anything a little hard work couldn’t make happen.
“I won’t lie, Robin. I’d be happy in a cardboard box so long as your by my side.” She’d had a beautiful elaborate home her whole life then she had a castle. Neither home contained the love she had been desperate for, and she knows with Robin, she will have that and so much more.
“A quiet little place in the middle of the forest?” she offers softly, eyes soft like that of a does as she imagines in within her mind. “Maybe a small apple orchard?”
They may very well not have the means for much to start with unless they use some nefarious means to get it but they will manage as they have since they joined forces in this realm. The thought that he has given voice to is very selfish and no doubt other versions of himself never would have even considered it but he isn’t them, and the situation that he is in is one that is terribly conflicting. On the one hand they can help a lot of innocent people but at what cost? Hadn’t they already paid enough?
Bringing his hand inward he gently sifts his fingers through her hair as he keeps her close unwilling to let any space grow between them. “Regina, you already know that I would. As much as I enjoy causing trouble that benefits the masses there is nothing that compares to loving you; being loved by you.“
His fingers bury within her hair and remain still. "I do not want to lose the chance that we have been given to have a life together that I know I very much want to have with you. We have a second chance to get things right and every day that passes the more I start to feel as if this selfish desire is exactly what we should do.”
Regina’s eyes close as his fingers sift through her hair. She can barely concentrate when he touches her this way. She has to force herself to focus on his words while simultaneously reveling in his caresses. She simply nodded when he confirms that he would give it all up for her. In a way, he had the moment he’d allowed her into his life. Sure, they had taken risks, but they had also had to be more careful than if it was just him.
His voice lulled her eyes back open to meet his. She leaned against his touch, wanting to always have him touch her in this way. Her head nodded slowly up and down. "I’ve been selfish my entire life. Until you, that is.”
She turned her head, kissing his wrist gently as she lifted her hand to take his hand in hers. She met his eyes once again. “I want to be selfish again, Robin. I do. I will.” She leaned in, kissing his mouth hard, leaving no chance for him to misunderstand her intentions or her answer. “I want it so let’s do it. Let’s find us a little place where we can settle down and have a life that no one can take away.”
A better man would insist that they stay to sort out the mess that is the kingdom but he isn’t even though he has changed somewhat. lionoflocksley:
In two hours time very little had transpired in the thief’s world as he had taken his time leaving the vault wanting to linger there in happier memories for a time before setting out to have a very difficult conversation. As it turns out he was able to reach the campsite deep within the forest in time to see the men setting about their plans for the day. John sat with Marian discussing something as Roland played nearby.
Roland spotted him first and he gathered up his son holding him close and marveling at how his boy continues to grow no longer the tiny toddler that nearly ventured off to Neverland and managed to show everyone that the queen was not at all what many made her out to be. John gave him and Marian some space to discuss how they wanted to try and manage sorting out the mess they are in. There is much left up in the air but by the time he inquires about taking Roland to visit with Regina for a few hours they have burnt a few bridges and Marian requests that she keep Roland with her. If she was expecting an argument to vent frustration anger he did not give into it but rather understandingly backed down.
Robin took to wandering the forest and lost track of time but as if sub consciously his feet ferried him to his favorite spot within the dense forest. There he once again finds the other half of his soul sitting there waiting for him with a basket in hand. His heart skips several beats as he watches her from nearby knowing she will sense him soon enough. In this unguarded moment he greedily commits this moment to memory before silently walking towards her feeling the anticipation of her dark eyes landing on him growing stronger by the second.
Regina sensed the very moment he was nearby. It was as if her heart knew when the other half was close, and the rest of her body told her of his presence. She keeps her posture, not letting know now that she knows he’s within her eyesight. Not yet. She wanted to see what he would do with this unguarded moment. She wanted to know how long he would be content with just watching her. It’s not long before she feels him getting closer.
She can no longer hold herself back. Her heart has already skipped a bit in anticipation. She turns slowly toward him. Her dark eyes locking on him. Her lips turn up into a smile as she lifted herself from the fallen tree. It’s as if she’s walking on air when she runs to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. Their lips met in a hungry kiss.
Her hands were in his hair, sifting through his brown locks and tugging just a little. She moaned softly as their lips parted. “I thought maybe I had been stood up,” she teased him. Her body is still pressed close to his as she searched his eyes. She can see the disappointment and not being able to bring Roland with him. “It’s okay. There will always be another time,” she assured him.
It feels as close to perfect as anything can be just laying here with her in the dark listening to the sound of the storm beating down upon the inn. As his fingers take to slowly sifting through her hair he places a soft kiss atop her head. “I would love nothing more than to remain abed with you forever but we both know that we can’t stay here.” As long as they remain in this kingdom they will never be safe as King Henry’s forces search tirelessly for them both. They can do a great many things to aid the people but it will always be at a great risk to their own safety, and they certainly won’t be able to etertain the dreams that he has been building over time.
“Regina,” he calls softly. “What if we left all of it behind? Just go along with me for a moment my love. Would you want to leave the kingdom and build a home somewhere that is safe— a place where you and I can truly live. Yes, helping others has brought us both a great deal of happiness not to mention those we have helped but we do not have to make the lives of others better while never having a life of our own. Perhaps — perhaps would could start a family if we are far from here.”
Regina’s face fell as he gently reminded her of what she already knew to be true. She sighed softly, nodding against his chest as she opened her eyes. She lifted her face to watch him as the candle started to dim. She nuzzled her nose against his breast and smiled sadly. “I know, darling. I know.”
She closed her eyes once again, shifting against him so that her face nuzzled into his neck. She felt calmer this way. Safer, too. She listened as the rain beat down on the window and the pane outside and tried not to think too far from this moment, but his words changed all of that.
She lifted her head as he spoke, starting to protest and he had seemed to know it and asked her to hear him out. She nodded, wanting to hear the rest of what he had to say. As the words fell from his lips and landed against her ears, she started to let herself dream of the very life that he proposed. Tears filled her eyes.
“You’d give all this up, helping the people, for me?”
The thought that he has given voice to is very selfish and no doubt other versions of himself never would have even considered it but he isn't them, and the situation that he is in is one that is terribly conflicting. With a gentle smirk still in place he nods towards her and remains where he’s standing for if he moves towards her again he will delay her all the more, and she is already on the cusp of being late. "Of course I will, milady. I’ll see if he will send a message for you if his mother decides to keep him with her today.”
As his eyes drift down to her bit lip he resists the pull to close the distance between them to kiss her soundly. “Two hours,” he sighs softly. “I will be there waiting. If it wouldn’t be too much trouble could you bring something from Granny’s? I would rather wait to eat with you not to mention John’s cooking is still horrific.” Robin tosses her a smile while shifting his weight from one foot to the other trying to keep himself in place. “Remember, I love you.”
Regina chuckled softly at the mention of Little John’s cooking. She’s had the pleasure of eating his cooking, and she would be inclined to agree. It wasn’t anything to brag about it, but it did fill their bellies. While the old her would have been crass about it, the new her recognized that not everyone had the same strengths. That sometimes the heart being in the right place was what truly mattered. “I’ll make sure she packs our favorites,” she promised.
She nodded at his words. “I love you, too.” She searched his eyes before she slowly disappeared in a fog of smoke, knowing if she didn’t that she’d cancel on Emma and things might become strained once again.
- -
Two hours later, she appeared in the forest a ways from their spot so she could anticipate the way her heart would feel when she saw the Robin in their spot. And to collect herself in case Roland had been able to accompany him after all. Henry would be joining them in a bit, and she needed that time to greet Robin.
She stepped into the clearing, frowning when she found it empty. She placed the basket from Granny’s at her feet and took a shaky breath. It would be okay. Robin had to travel by nonmagical means, and she could be patient. She retrieved the basket from her feet as she approached the fallen tree and seated herself upon it to wait.
In two hours time very little had transpired in the thief's world as he had taken his time leaving the vault wanting to linger there in happier memories for a time before setting out to have a very difficult conversation. lionoflocksley:
For a very long time he believed that love would be a constant stranger to him but then she had swept into his life quite literally winding about him then nipping at him to break a magic spell. From the moment their eyes met he’d been enchanted. There was just something about her that lured him in and as he fondly recalls their first meeting he realizes that the seeds of the future had already been planted. They’d drawn in close to the other talking of plans that no heroic individual ever would, and heavens the way she flirted so effortlessly with him made him feel alive.
Everything that had occurred between them had drawn them closer to the other for he could understand her in ways no other can. When he found himself back in the Enchanted Forest his heart had sank knowing that she had sent him back. Yes, he would be happier there than the modern world Regina had brought him too but after meeting them he didn’t want to be a part of a world where neither were. As his thoughts of the recent past drift he nuzzles with her remembering that they picked up where they had left off but with the addition of a growing desire for the other.
She has become quite the bandit while he has become far more tolerant of magic because of his trust in her. Having been on the wrong end of it one too many times he has started to recall that magic can be used for good, and she has done many things upon her return to help others with her abilities. She seems happier these days, and he is a lucky fool to be a part of that. What’s more he’s lucky to be loved by her, and wants to spend the rest of his days loving her with all his soul behind it. “I love you.” As their eyes meet he feels closer to her than he ever has before. In this moment its as if they truly can touch each others souls and he never wants to look away nor be parted from her. “Always.”
Regina’s hand moved to his cheek, grazing his cheek with her knuckles. Her smile is soft. She encourages him to lay down with her so that she can curl up into his arms. Her lips nuzzle into his neck as she feathers light kisses here and there along his sweaty skin. Her sigh feels the air as her eyes close. “Can we stay here always?” she questions as she rests her hand upon his stomach just above his navel.
She doesn’t want to open her eyes for fear that he would tell her the truth. She doesn’t want to know that come tomorrow that they’ll have to leave this place and go back on the run. She fears the life sometimes because if they are ever caught, she knows she will be put to death for their crimes. They’ll be separated for always. Again.
“I just want to stay here in your arms for always.”
It feels as close to perfect as anything can be just laying here with her in the dark listening to the sound of the storm beating down upon the inn. As his fingers take to slowly sifting through her hair he places a soft kiss atop her head. "I would love nothing more than to remain abed with you forever but we both know that we can't stay here." Robin cradles her face in his hands knowing full well what she is thinking, and wishes that he could change things for them all but somehow they will all make it through. He has to hold onto hope that they can all coexist for the children’s sake because they will always be what’s most important. “I know,” he sighs softly as his thumbs brush across her cheeks gently. “It will not be easy to start but all of us care for the boys and we will all find a way to make it work. All one has to do is to take a step back and see that they are loved by many and that is truly a gift. They will have all of us to help them become the men that they will be, and that future is one that I am happy to be a part of.“
He leans in resting his forehead against hers. "Much like Killian I am glad to be a part of Henry’s life. Neither of us can ever truly be his father but we can be his family, and Roland looks up to Henry like a big brother already. We may not have quite as much time as we’d like but every moment is a blessing to have with them and each other.”
Regina’s smile lights up her eyes and face. Her body shifts to hug him tightly. "That’s why I fell in love with you. Ever the optimistic.” Her hand moves down his shoulders then his back until she comes to rest on his ass cheek. She gives it a gentle squeeze before she slips away from him. “If I don’t go now, we both know we’ll end up back in that bed…”
She reaches for her jacket, pulling it over her arms and shoulders until she settles it in place. She pulls it tightly against her chest and glances back at him over her shoulder. “I love you. We’ll meet in two hours at our place, yeah?” She pulls her bottom lip between her teeth and bites down gently.
“If you see Roland, tell him I miss and love him. Please?” She already knows the response that Marian will give in regards to the boy joining them for the picnic, and she can’t blame her. Not really. She has lost too much time with him already.
With a gentle smirk still in place he nods towards her and remains where he's standing for if he moves towards her again he will delay her all the more, and she is already on the cusp of being late. "Of course I will, milady. I'll see if he will send a message for you if his mother decides to keep him with her today."

Robin tosses her a smile while shifting his weight from one foot to the other trying to keep himself in place. "Remember, I love you."
Wind of Change
lionoflocksley:
Dammit!
Why is she so bloody stubborn? Robin watches her dash off and he’s not certain that he should follow her because she’s made it perfectly clear that she wants to have nothing to do with him or his offer to aid her at least in so far as to get her to safety so that she can continue on her way but he just can’t seem to let things end. There’s just something about her that has captured him in a way that nothing or no one else ever has.
Keeping his distance he has decided to make certain that she is able to escape the inn unharmed even if she doesn’t realize that he’s still watching over her. This is how he knows that something is wrong when he arrives upstairs in time to see a familiar bag disappearing into the room and the door closing shut. Why would she gather her things then go back into the room?
Because it isn’t her.
Robin is quick on his feet and hears a snippet of the conversation before things go awry all the more. Quietly slipping the door open he sees one of the sheriff’s men having snatched up Regina. With the way she’s being held she has no way to become free. He sees her trying all the ways one can attempt to break the hold of an attacker and they’re failing. Seeing red he storms across the room catching the guard by surprise.
Now locked into a fight with the sheriff’s goon he tries his best to fend off the physical attack as he’s shorter and much quicker than the other male. “Go!” Robin insists as he tries to lock the man up in a grapple but his arm is not cooperating with him. He’s barely able to keep shoving and grasping but with each attempt his injury becomes inflamed and his strength is waning. “Run! Please!” As long as she gets away that’s all that matters. Casting a worried glance her way is enough for him to take a blow directly to the wound, and he nearly buckles from it. “Regina RUN.” He doesn’t know how much longer he can keep this man occupied and no doubt someone nearby will hear the scuffle.
Caught in a battle he can’t win he does his best all the while biting back the pain as he starts to lose sensation and the other male is starting to deal out a great deal of damage to his midsection. As another blow lands he tries to catch most of it with his arm drawing inward to block but it does no good. Just a little while longer and she’ll have enough of a head start to hopefully get away and while the guard is off trying to hunt her he will send some of his men to make sure she’s never found while others get him to their apothecary.
She is too small to fight him. Too small, but more determined than ever to free herself or die trying. Whatever happens, she will not let the Queen have the satisfaction of finishing her off herself. Regina is panting as she keeps kicking her feet when she feels the grip around her body loosens up. With not much air left in her lungs, she falls to her knees, coughing as she crawls away from her captor and hears a voice telling her to go. It is then that she realizes why he let go of her so abruptly.
Someone took him by surprise. Everything is blurry as Regina finds herself sitting against the wall, panting, still coughing, and trying to catch her breath. She thinks someone is telling her to run again, but her mind is too hazy to comprehend. She thinks it’s the outlaw — Robin — and as Regina’s body slowly starts to relax, she sees the blond man keeping the sheriff’s man occupied in a close combat. Not even a moment passes and the outlaw takes a serious blow that nearly knocks him over. Robin’s desperate call for her to run again is like a wake-up call, and Regina gathers up just enough strength to pull herself back onto her feet and run, not before she snatches the bag she stole, and she is out in the hallway within seconds.
Regina nearly makes it to the back exit when her stomach twists and guilt starts gnawing at her. Should she really care if the thief is idiot enough to risk his own life for her? Probably not. But should anything happen to the outlaw tonight, Regina knows she will have to carry the guilt for the rest of her life. And with a satchel full of stolen goods and an opportunity to flee and gain her freedom back, she is hopefully going to live a long life.
Damn. She has to go back for him, doesn’t she? Is she really going to go against all the values she always believed in and turn her back on someone in need, simply for her own selfish reasons? This isn’t who she is. She may be the most wanted bandit in the realm, but she will never stand by and let an innocent soul suffer. Especially not because of her.
With a grunt, Regina gets rid of the satchel – it will only slow her down – before she makes the way back. The two men are still struggling, she is relieved to know she isn’t too late, but he looks in a very bad shape now, the outlaw. Regina moves inside the room and manages to find her dagger before she leaps and stabs the man’s side just in time before he has the chance to beat Robin again. The guard loses his balance and falls back on the ground, disoriented and confused, but still conscious. Regina briefly meets Robin’s eyes before she quickly finds herself by his side, helping him stand still and supporting his injured arm. “We don’t have much time, we have to get out of here,” she urges.
The guard cries out in pain which alerts the men still downstairs but the patrons, mostly the merry men, start up a loud quarrel that breaks into a staged fight that keeps the sherrif's men caught up and distracted. Upstairs Robin is drawing in quick breaths as he holds Regina's dark gaze with a mixture of emotions ranging from surprise to relief and something a bit more than that. "You came back?" He asks in disbelief. She obviously did though he can't believe it. In the next breath he feels beyond wretched and shakes his head swiftly side to side. If they make it out of here alive then there will be time for talking.
"Please -- don't." Robin's blues reveal the pain that he's in and though she means well touching his arm is excrutiating and the rest of him isn't that far behind. Together they swiftly walk down the hall where she can gather her things but he has nothing on him save the hidden blades upon his person. He hasn't even spared a thought about her stabbing the sheriff's man to save him. It happened, and at the time there wasn't much more either of them could have done save try to knock the guy out and the outlaw just doesn't have any strength left in him other than to put one foot in front of the other.
Their silent rush away from the inn takes them deep into the woods before he reaches out with his good hand to try to stop her. "My village is too far." He won't be able to make it there easily and all he wants to do is rest. "You should go. I will tell you the way." He trusts her though the others might not. There's no chance that this woman is going to learn the way to Robin Hood's camp, and hand them over to the queen. "They will keep you safe and send a few to aid me."
Wind of Change
lionoflocksley:
Despite having his back up against a wall with a dagger at his throat the man is eerily calm. The carrying on downstairs has resumed even with the Sheriff’s men loitering about. This is not exactly how he thought meeting her would go this evening but he’s not at all surprised that they have come to this point because there is no real reason for either of them to trust one another save for one piece of common ground.
“I know enough,” he states plainly. “I know that you are on the run from the law as am I most of the time and despite our little – misadventure – earlier in the day I hold no ill will and surely wouldn’t want to see your neck stretched by the hangmans noose.” The outlaw lifts his hand gently resting it at her hip as the rest of him remains as still as humanly possible given each breath nearly gives him too close of a shave.
“I have no doubt you are perfectly able to take care of yourself but it never hurts to accept the help of others; especially those with similar dislikes. We have been dancing about one another for quite a long while you and I. You truly are exceptional, and though many do not follow the code I have never faltered. Let me help spirit you away from this place and once you are safely to where you need to be we can part company if that’s what you wish.”
She laughs and shakes her head when he brings his hand to her hip, and Regina presses the knife a little more firmly into his skin; not nearly enough to cause him any harm but just enough to make her message clear. Even with his back against the wall and inches away from a serious damage, he keeps calm. This man is a real piece of work, isn’t he? Trying to win her over with his smooth words and promises. But she lives in the real world, not the little fantasy this outlaw and his group of men have built for themselves. In her reality, there is no such thing as allies, or rivals who want her best interest. Being on her own, trusting herself is the only way she can survive.
“Well, how about this… you go gather up your men, get the hell out of this place and forget you ever saw me,” Regina orders, and somehow, her face is now just mere inches away from him. “Our paths part now, thief,” she says, pushing him further back against the wall with her forearm before Regina takes a quick step back and disappears up the stairs.
Once she is safely back inside her room, Regina rushes to her bedside and takes out one of the wooden floor tiles, where she hid her stolen goods from earlier today. Something is terribly wrong, though, when she realizes… the bag… her loot is nowhere to be found and Regina’s heart skips a beat.
There is a loud thud behind her — the door — and Regina quickly raises back to her feet, the knife she is still holding slipping from her grasp as she finds herself facing one of the sheriff’s men.
“Looking for this, Mills?” he asks, lifting her satchel in one hand as he slowly inches closer, unfolding one of Regina’s famous Wanted papers in his other hand with the most disgusting grin she’d ever seen.
She is trapped. The room is too small for her to flee through the door, and without much thinking, Regina turns towards the window. The guard, on his part, is quick to react himself. Dropping the paper and satchel to the floor, he manages to reach the bandit and grabs her from behind.
“No!” she grunts, squirming and kicking her arms and legs as hard as she can, “Let me go!”
Dammit!
Why is she so bloody stubborn? Robin watches her dash off and he's not certain that he should follow her because she's made it perfectly clear that she wants to have nothing to do with him or his offer to aid her at least in so far as to get her to safety so that she can continue on her way but he just can't seem to let things end. There's just something about her that has captured him in a way that nothing or no one else ever has.
Keeping his distance he has decided to make certain that she is able to escape the inn unharmed even if she doesn't realize that he's still watching over her. This is how he knows that something is wrong when he arrives upstairs in time to see a familiar bag disappearing into the room and the door closing shut. Why would she gather her things then go back into the room?
Because it isn't her.
Robin is quick on his feet and hears a snippet of the conversation before things go awry all the more. Quietly slipping the door open he sees one of the sheriff's men having snatched up Regina. With the way she's being held she has no way to become free. He sees her trying all the ways one can attempt to break the hold of an attacker and they're failing. Seeing red he storms across the room catching the guard by surprise.
Now locked into a fight with the sheriff's goon he tries his best to fend off the physical attack as he's shorter and much quicker than the other male. "Go!" Robin insists as he tries to lock the man up in a grapple but his arm is not cooperating with him. He's barely able to keep shoving and grasping but with each attempt his injury becomes inflamed and his strength is waning. "Run! Please!" As long as she gets away that's all that matters. Casting a worried glance her way is enough for him to take a blow directly to the wound, and he nearly buckles from it. "Regina RUN." He doesn't know how much longer he can keep this man occupied and no doubt someone nearby will hear the scuffle.
Caught in a battle he can't win he does his best all the while biting back the pain as he starts to lose sensation and the other male is starting to deal out a great deal of damage to his midsection. As another blow lands he tries to catch most of it with his arm drawing inward to block but it does no good. Just a little while longer and she'll have enough of a head start to hopefully get away and while the guard is off trying to hunt her he will send some of his men to make sure she's never found while others get him to their apothecary.
Mischief Managed
lionoflocksley:
Robin hums as he watches the bickering carry on over her shoulder. “A prefects work is never done is that it? I honestly don’t know how you find the time to do that atop all the rest you are involved in but I am proud of you. You’re a very fair and hard working prefect. I don’t need a whole lot of time and observation to know that.” He has to admit that the insults that are flying now between Wood and Flint are especially amusing. Nothing is going to come of it because neither team is going to want to end up with detention this early on but the precedent for the games violence is being set.
“How was your summer? I know that we communicated as much as we could be I’d like to hear about anything that I missed that you couldn’t talk about at home.” Robin leaves his hand right where he set it but shifts somewhat to the side so that he’s not looming over her at all even though they’re roughly about the same height. “I’ve missed you. At least we share a lot of the same classes and everyone is used to us pairing off when it isn’t a matter of house points on the line.”
Looking up at Robin, Regina gives him a soft smile, completely forgetting all about the scene of insults that unfolds not far away. The warmth in his eyes and the genuine way he’s complimenting her makes her stomach flutter. He’s her best friend, and she knows she can always count on him for comfort and reassurance. She only wishes her own mother would be as supportive in a time Regina needs it the most. “Thanks. Honestly, sometimes I wish I could steal a time turner to handle all this extra work. But you know I love a good challenge,” she admits.
Regina groans when he asks about her summer. It always felt like a huge cloud was looming over her during the summer time. She hadn’t realized just how much she hated being home until she came to Hogwarts. Even though it was difficult to adjust at first, Hogwarts became her home. Her heart longed to be back here every time she was away, and this summer more than ever. The last thing Robin needs to hear is all about yet another stressful summer under the careful watch of her mother. “It doesn’t really matter, I’m home now. And you know I’ve missed you too, but don’t think I am going to make your life easy, Locksley,” she raises her brow and smirks. “I am more than ready to kick your ass and win the house cup.”
He chuckles lowly, "Well, knowing you as I do stealing a time turner would just give you all the more reason to do more. I would figure it out though and try to convince you to give it up because you need rest as much as the rest of us. Wouldn't you be the least bit tempted to go back in time and try to change things? I know how frowned upon that is given the infinite number of paradoxes that can occur but its still a nice idea to think about from time to time. No one should ever really have the power to travel through time its far too tempting to alter things to suit your desires."
"As if --" Robin finds himself laughing. "I do love a good challenge but you'll never come close to kicking my arse anywhere." A smile lingers a moment longer because he knows that she is a far better student than he is but he manages well enough. They push each other to achieve great things and it has worked out for years, and there's no reason to change that. There is however something that has been brewing for as long as he can remember back and he can't help but feel the tell tale flutter in his heart when she arches an imperious brow and smirks up at him.
His gaze softens as he puts his back to the quidditch pitch standing before her now. "Did you? Miss me that is." Waiting but a moment he draws into her personal space with half a step and brushing the backs of his fingers against hers. "Would you think me mad or confounded at the very least if I told you that I have thought about you all summer break, and couldn't wait to see you again?"

Regina loves the feel of his weight as he settles upon her. Her eyes are hooded from the pleasure she’s still feeling, and it makes her want to close them and snuggle into him and maybe sleep, but she wants this moment to last as long as it possibly can. She knows they can’t stay here forever, but Christ, she wants to. She wants to lock the world on the other side of the door and pretend that they are the only two people in the world.
And they are in her world. Her world isn’t very big anymore. It used to be an entire kingdom, and now it’s the two of them and wherever they happen to be in whatever moment. Her lips turn up into a smile as she moves her gaze from his eyes to his lips.
His lips were captivating. And they did things to her body that she hadn’t known possible. She cannot resist kissing them again as she lifts herself only slightly and catches his mouth with her own. She whimpers against them and then relaxes as she lays back against the bed.
“I love you.” And it’s the absolute and complete truth. She’s never known love like this, and she knows that she would be lost without him. She wouldn’t want to live another moment if his life were to be lost.
For a very long time he believed that love would be a constant stranger to him but then she had swept into his life quite literally winding about him then nipping at him to break a magic spell. From the moment their eyes met he'd been enchanted. There was just something about her that lured him in and as he fondly recalls their first meeting he realizes that the seeds of the future had already been planted. They'd drawn in close to the other talking of plans that no heroic individual ever would, and heavens the way she flirted so effortlessly with him made him feel alive.
Everything that had occurred between them had drawn them closer to the other for he could understand her in ways no other can. When he found himself back in the Enchanted Forest his heart had sank knowing that she had sent him back. Yes, he would be happier there than the modern world Regina had brought him too but after meeting them he didn't want to be a part of a world where neither were.
What's more he's lucky to be loved by her, and wants to spend the rest of his days loving her with all his soul behind it. "I love you." As their eyes meet he feels closer to her than he ever has before. In this moment its as if they truly can touch each others souls and he never wants to look away nor be parted from her. "Always."
