There's movement in the urn.
I miss you so much my tears are trapped
not broken mind you, it’s just a transparent small quiver
the dinky little bugger, inflicting headaches
of crops wavering under the wind’s breath.
My tongue reverbs in all these blurbs and it’s hard to tell apart
the genuine from the fake, the friend from the snake.
the dimension of us is flat, it travels through waves
mostly just sound in movement, pure noumenon
meaning is lost in the apparatus
that little crack in my smile…
Time accrues and with the blues
I write these perplexed words
until it’s time to cash it all in,
feel the ticking clock articulate the distance
advancing like the Gobi desert.
And yes it’s stating the obvious that we are far apart and it doesn’t sit well with me,
but just the thought of what it could be,
if we were both in the here and now,
gooseflesh and butterflies
then jitters and a rude awakening
back to reality, a fatality
the physical dichotomy of α and ω,
where “I” is missing “you”
over what we could not choose.
Carrying the remnants of a cracked smile through that distance.
