Hiii! I just recently came across your art (specifically the Twisted Wonderland one) and WOWWWW!!! YOUR ART IS SO SCRUMPTIOUS AAAAAA IM ADMIRING IT SO MUCH
I wanted to ask, where do you get your inspiration from in art? The composition of the TWST one is so cool, especially the second photo with Rook shooting a bow & arrow from an apple slice + the Pomefiore trio are walking in windows in the background. The composition of your art is so cool ughhh!!! If you have any inspiration for composition (or anything in drawing), I’d like to know if you’re comfortable with sharing >_<
Hi!!!! Thank you very much for your kind words and appreciation of my work! When I created this artwork, I wanted to try something new!
I haven’t played Twisted for a long time, but I have many fond memories of it and still love the characters (My friend invited me to participate in the zine!) What I wanted most was to draw the Pomefiore Dorm, as it has a very distinct medieval look with ?renaissance? elements(idk), which has been reflected in my personal work over the past few years (I love fairy tales and try to create dark fantasy with my own characters Serp and Vel). That’s why this was a great chance to try my hand at imitating something akin to old book designs! Unfortunately, I don’t have the references I used in the fall when sketching, but there’s a sample book spread from what seems to be an ancient Bible. Overall, in the composition, I aimed to convey the timeless and serene flow of life in the dormitory, like frozen memories layering on each other to create various images.
Ref & Sketch & Fin:
Answering about photo with Rook shooting a bow & arrow, I also wanted to portray their skills! Around Epel, you can see his "glass coffin"/"crimson slumber" skill, Vil's is not quite clearly visible, but there is a trail of poisonous fumes on the table from his hand. Well, the apple and the flowers as the main symbols of their dorm!
At first, I intended to make something more linear, but I’m too fond of rendering! So, I’ll show the funny faces of the characters before the final render:
Once again, thank you for the praise and the interesting question! I hope everything is clear! Sorry if it’s confusing or unclear—my English isn’t great!
