Just to be clear, this is the terf position. We are not concerned with males getting boob jobs and calling themselves Stacey in private life as a form of therapy.

Our main concerns are:

1.The subordination of sex in law and policy

2. The implication that it is the legal obligation of ppl to indulge dysphoric fantasies. Or lie about sex.

While ppl may choose to indulge dysphoric ppl out of politeness, it should not be a legal obligation or compel speech.

Ppl lying about sex or pretending to not notice your sex is not a human right- the world is not dysphoric ppls personal mental asylum. If reality based references to sex disturb someone, it is their responsibility to cope.

Women are biologically female human beings with their own objectives and rights to protect , we do not exist to be the emotional support animals to dysphoric males.

i think one of the worst things the left wing internet ever did was push the idea that oppression is basically a virtue, and being oppressed is a sign of your morality. it has made it like…impossible for some of you to hold the idea that most people are privileged in some ways and oppressed in others. AND a lot of you seem to have it in your mind that terrible people cannot be oppressed, and that oppressed people cannot do terrible things, which is a dangerous rhetoric to hold imo.

i think the Paris situation has largely backfired on TRAs, tbh. women are kinda rallying because why would she not speak about her own lived experiences? why would she over-emphasize a group that’s less than 1% of the population? especially when she did say she supported trans women many months ago (although i saw a comment that that was apparently not enough because who is the same person they were months ago).

the truth is, anyone with a brain can see that paris isn’t a “TERF” by their definition, she just doesn’t cater to them. it’s been interesting to see people really question what that group parrots back to everyone about what support should truly look like.

All the TERFs on here started out as supporting trans people. Much like Paris-we just didn't cater to them or change every single belief we have about women's oppression to accommodate their feelings and identity. That's the whole thing- TERFs aren't real. The point is to silence and intimidate any brand of feminism that doesn't centre males and identity issues. They don't care if you don't hate trans women. That's not enough- they need you to hate yourself enough to put them first in all things. Don't y'all get it- transfeminism can't exist alongside pro-woman feminism. They need to destroy it in all its iterations. It's a threat to them. Because if you love yourself and prioritise your own needs, transwomen won't be able to exist in the brazenly misogynistic way they currently do. Their existence is contingent on women hating themselves and having zero class consciousness.

I don't talk about it super often, but I identified as non-binary when it was very first blowing up on the internet. I started THE first (and later biggest) Facebook group for non-binary people (OH yes, I have regrets about that. I believe the group is still alive and thriving), I was super lost in the TRA sauce.

If you know my account, you'd know I'm now as far from a TRA as you can get. How did that change, you ask? When I still identified as non-binary, I referred to myself as a biological female.... When I tell you EVERYONE. LOST. THEIR. SHIT.

They first gently told me I was wrong, then started calling me a TERF and transphobe when I wouldn't back down. I knew biology and sexism existed, and that was such a huge threat to them that they ostracized me from my own group. I never thought I had a "gendered soul," I just loved the idea of gender-bending and being some sort of unique "other." I genuinely believed that sex ≠ gender, and that alone was too "terfy" for them.

I'm only surprised that it has taken this long for their allyship to implode. Soon enough, no women will support them, the misogyny is just so blatant.

In real life too! I'm part of a lesbian collective in my town and I swear to god, at least 70% of the women there are radfems. The more I talk to people irl the more I find people are way more critical of gender ideology than the internet makes it seem. Of course, most women who aren't right wing still regurgitate some idiotic mantras, but if you get them alone, give them one glass of wine and provide a judgment-free ear, 9 times out of 10, they spill the beans. Unfortunately, right wing women are a whole other can of worms.

Should I compile the peak responses into a free ebook because I think it’s important as a consciousness raising exercise and that it should shared around. So that anyone can pick it up and realize they are not alone in feeling unseen and not being able to relate to Identity Based Transfeminism.

This is not even about being anti-trans, it’s about pushing back against a co-opted version of feminism that has deprioritized the reality of sex based oppression and that most female people don’t feel empowered by.

The transfeminist elevation of identity as the most important issue has been disastrous for women’s collective consciousness, solidarity and ultimately our self-esteem and confidence in creating a world with more positive experiences for women
