If you want stronger, smarter writing, start by cutting out the word very. It’s vague, overused, and often weakens your point.

Instead of saying “very noisy,” say “deafening.” Swap “very sad” for “sorrowful,” or “very poor” for “destitute.” One precise word beats two generic ones every time.

Clarity: Strong words paint clearer pictures.

Brevity: Fewer words = tighter writing.

Impact: Words like petrified or flawless carry more weight than “very scared” or “very perfect.”

Next time you revise, find every “very” and challenge yourself to replace it. Your writing will instantly sound more confident—and more impressive. 👍
