I don't know if this is a hot take? But I've recently seen some posts upset abt there being x fem!reader stuff for Flambae bc he's canonically gay, and tbh I really don't think its that deep??? I'm honestly a little shocked there's controversy over this? Like, yes, hes canonically gay, but there are a bunch of canonically straight characters across fiction that get shipped with same-sex characters or have same sex reader x character fanfiction written about them still. Like, hes fictional and fanfiction is, by nature, SUPPOSED to be really self indulgent, so I don't really see why it's a problem? If a girl happens to find this extremely attractive character attractive and wants to write x reader fanfiction that she can relate to, why does that matter? Like it's not from a place of gay erasure, and tbh scrolling through this site I see plenty x male reader fics for him, too, so it's not like there's no content for it. I just don't understand why it's suddenly bad to write something self indulgent in an inherently self indulgent thing. I mean, I guess I could be missing something (pls inform me if I am) but I really don't see why it's bad with my current knowledge?
