If Call the Midwife continues into the 80s they should have Sister Monica Joan kill Margaret Thatcher

and then people had the gall to say she was being unreasonable for setting boundaries
Poor child. And she's still to me a child, so young with so much thrown at you, than your personal safety is breached. No wonder she has lashed out. Wishing her peace and happiness. No "success" is worth your health and safety.
*Degrassi Junior High Fan Fiction*
Spike is torn between her feelings for Liz and Shane
Chapter 1
"So are we going to get the new Gourmet Scum cassette after school?" Liz asked her best friend Spike as she plopped down onto the front lawn of Degrassi Junior High with her usual lunch of blueberry yogurt.
Spike was startled. She jumped at the familiar sound of her friend's voice.
"Uh...oh, sure. I just need to pick Emma up from the sitters first," she replied before cramming a mouth full of fries and gravy into her mouth.
It was lunch hour at Degrassi Junior High and Spike looked around at all the different kids lounging in the early fall dappled sunlight through the maple trees. Some of her fellow students she had known since kindergarten, like Lucy Fernandez and Joey Jeremiah. Others she had met at junior high, like Derek Wheeler (everyone called him Wheels) and Shane McKay. Spike was forever linked to Shane by one night at a party Lucy held a year and a half earlier. He was the father of her six month old daughter, Emma. Shane was a lousy father. He barely paid child support and never helped with his child. Spike regretted the fumbled, painful, rushed ten minutes it took to make the baby, but she definitely never regretted her beautiful daughter.
Now he was laughing with his buddies, throwing chips at each other and she worried how she was going to get diapers this week. He was as free as a butterfly while she felt like a pinned Monarch in some bug scholars collection.
"Well I'll meet you by the lockers," Liz said, reaching over and messing with Spike's hairdo that stood straight up. Spike smiled at Liz's touch. She actually found herself feeling fluttery whenever Liz bumped her shoulder in the hall or draped her arm around her protectively whenever Shane was nearby, lately. "I made extra money last weekend babysitting for my aunt, so I'll pay for your half of the tape".
"OH Liz, no!" Spike protested. " "I got it."
"No, you don't, so don't argue," Liz said, gathering her trash. "That's what friends are for, Broomhead!".
Spike smiled. Liz had to hurry before the bell, so Spike watched her friend retreat back towards to school. A loneliness hit her suddenly. It was almost as if Liz, in many ways, had taken Shane's place in her life. They talked every night on the phone, Liz babysat when a Spike had been sick with the flu last month. She practically lived at the Nelson's house. Could it be Liz was who Spike needed in her life, not Shane? It's not like her and Shane got along. Usually, they fought over money or the lack of. Spike made sure Emma carried her last name, not Shane's. He was nothing to Spike. But in reality, she still felt a love, as unreciprocated as it was, for the boy with the way blond hair and goofy grin. But then there was Liz. Spike shook her head. They were just best friends and you didn't fall in love with your best friend.
Light bulb moment: I've always have written so I can control things when I CAN'T control things. Wow. Continue with your day.

Healthy, capable people have no idea what it's like to daily live in a body that is trying to destroy you and your ability to enjoy the simplest things. Empathy goes a long way.
