To follow up on my last post, look what I got in the mail, friends! The Mystery Brand is finally revealed
My lighting situation is still unideal, sorry friends!
So first thing's first, I opened my emailbox today and realized the mystery brand was to be revealed in my real life mailbox! After running a few errands (to manage my anticipation) I decided to check the mail. To my surprise, I received this box! Seeing the Garnier symbol was such a relief for me, I guessed correctly!
In The box
I opened the package to see this:
There was also a card explaining the products.
First Impressions
I am so happy that I guessed correctly. My little brother was here when unboxing and he said he loves the smell of the shampoo. Since the sample size of the shampoo and conditioner didn't quite trump my regular shampoo and conditioner specially made for my blonde hair, I'll be giving the shampoo and conditioner to my brother.
If you haven't noticed, these are full sized products. I'm super happy with the size of these samples. A quick amazon.com search reveals the shampoo, conditioner and serum combo comes up to $24 and the butter itself, $13. This box alone is a $37 value. If I were to buy in store, these would guaranteed be at least, a over-$40 value. I'm definitely impressed with you Influenster!
Verdict
After reading the info card I'm excited to add these products to my hair routine. Seeing as they add Phyto-Keratin into my hair this is perfect for my bleached head. (If you have bleached hair, adding protein into your hair is what prevents breakage!) I have been continuously using the hair serum and I find it doesn't weigh my hair down. I'm really happy with the serum and will be using the hair butter to add some extra strength in. Seeing as I have so much product to use, my hair should look healthier in no time. 4 slices out of 5!
I was luckily chosen to be one of the few to review Influenster’s VoxBox this month. This month we were asked to review and guess this Mystery Brand!
Disclaimer: Please forgive me if this doesn’t have a great flow/ my lighting situation isn’t the greatest. I’m still learning! Also, I have received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes
So I see on Instagram my friend Mickie received an email about her VoxBox being in the mail and receiving it in the same day. Eagerly I checked my emailbox and to my disappointment: nothing. Well I’ll just keep at it on Influenster and maybe next month I’ll get something. -Wrong- The next day I received an email saying my box is on its way and alas, 24 hours later my brother handed me this red box!
First Impression
Eagerly I opened my box to find three 50ml bottles of L’Oreal samples, an information card and jumbo bubble wrap. The overwhelming scent rushed up my nostrils. I would describe it now but I have a really bad cold, thus rendering my sense of smell useless. From what I remember, the smell was creamy like your blog standard Pantene Pro V smell. Nothing too strong but very, very L’Oreal. I then dashed to the shower to test these babies out.
Experience
First thing I noticed when I jumped in the shower was that a 50ml sample was a considerable size. The pictures I’ve taken were after my shower and I like to use a lot of product when showering. I think I have at least enough to get me through my next shower and a half.
I’m not used to following a hair routine that doesn’t cater to my bleached blonde locks so using these were definitely different for me. The shampoo left my hair squeaky clean and lathered quite nicely. Keep in mind however, I typically use purple shampoo which doesn’t lather at all quite frankly. Moving on, I used a lot of conditioner in my hair. I let my hair sit in the conditioner for the rest of my shower routine to really give it a chance to soak in. Their consistency, the same as regular shampoos and conditioners from the drug store. I would like to note however, the conditioner did do a great job when left in for a while!
When getting out of the shower, I was worried my hair would look horrible without its regular hair diet so I used the split end serum in conjunction with my regular sprays and oils. When dry, my hair, which is of fine, definitely damaged, consistency looks different than normal. It is a lot brighter which tells me the shampoo is somewhat clarifying (since my regular shampoo/ conditioner deposits purple into my hair). My hair dried considerably sooner, which tells me the conditioner isn’t making my hair soak up as much moisture as usual. My hair also on the bright side, does look smoother. I’m not quite sure if the split ends are mended but it has only been 1 use and I’m not quite sure anything could mend my hair.
Mystery Brand, not so mysterious!
So we were asked to guess this brand. Seeing as I haven’t used drugstore shampoo or conditioner for about a year now, I’ve forgotten the distinct smells of the different hair brands. But alas, when in doubt: google. I first googled the slogan on the sample bottles.
And to my surprise, Garnier Fructis shows up. After some digging, I realized L’Oreal owns GF. That’s awesome. But something about the logo looks familiar. After looking for a better picture I noticed this.
Well won’t you look at that. Those sneaky sneaks! Garnier Fructis is notorious for having a great smell and their smoothing serum does work for me. So if this is them, this should be inexpensive as well!
The Verdict
I think this whole Mystery Brand thing was a pretty sweet adventure. Hopefully I’m correct on the whole thing, but y’know it’s totally cool to be wrong! In terms of buying the product when the mystery brand is revealed, I’m not sure if I’ll be leaving my deep conditioners and purple shampoo as of yet, but if I’m ever in a place and need drugstore hair stuff, I won’t hesitate to pick this up! 3 Slices out of 5!
Hello world and welcome to Litter Box Pizza! This is just a little place where I will be doing my reviews on things from now on. I've never really reviewed things before, other than on Yelp and Influenster so I guess this is a start! Maybe I'll start vlogging again, but that's ways away! Thanks for reading this little disclaimer and I hope you enjoy.

P.S. I just spent 2 hours drawing this logo. I cannot draw for the life of me. Hahah.
