I was re-watching atla and I cant stop think how Sokka was the comic relief and called dumb yet he was acknowlogde by his friends and enemies as smart and strategiste of the group. While Lance that ocupes the same role is not treated the same way. When Sokka played the dumb one, it was funny because we all kwen he was unlucky but we never doubt he was a smart guy. With Lance this not happens because when they say he is the dumb one they mean that, and this is not funny. His comic relief doesnt work when it’s in humiliate way.
