And now, some scenic sights from the Black Pine Valley!

Don’t worry, those mushrooms aren’t sentient. But they aren’t edible, either, so just stick to using them to light your way. The Black Pine Valley Boos often stick these on each others’ heads as a prank.

The name comes from the peculiar black pine trees that grow so thickly here that they choke out the sunlight. The whole place is ringed by tall mountains with only a couple of VERY hard-to traverse passes in or out of the valley.

So basically, this is like prime real estate if you’re a Boo. The sun almost NEVER shines below those tall trees here. Also, SOMEONE photobombed what was supposed to be a pic of the scenery >:(

It isn’t just Boos living in this valley. There’s plenty of wildlife, which is GREAT news for Toge…

Perhaps due to how hard the Black Pine Valley is to even REACH, herbs and plants that are usable for potions and medicines grow with such abundance that Sumi almost never has to worry about finding ingredients.

Sooo... Battle Abilities!

While Toge CAN spit fire, she prefers physical attacks like biting and clawing. While pretty, those wings are also considerably more dangerous than they look. a direct hit from her wings can actually break bones. If she lands a tail slap to an enemy’s head, that’s pretty much a guaranteed concussion. So basically, she’s the ace of the Black Pine Valley Ghost House’s defense.

Sumi usually sticks to being the healer, but she CAN, in fact, fight. She has something she can do that most other Toadettes can’t: punch with her twintails. She can also spit ink from her mouth to either temporarily blind an opponent by spitting it into their eyes, or ground an airborne opponent by gunking up their wings. Sumi can also make the battlefield hard to traverse by spitting ink on the ground to make it start out slippery, but as the water evaporates out of it, it turns sticky.

Al cannot really do much yet, being a baby. He has, however, figured out how to do simple illusions. He also can make portals for fast travel, but he can only do it if he’s been to the place he’s trying to go at least once.

Drew Alvis, Toge, and Sumi as humans!

I’m bored so have a few little things about the characters

-Toge likes to sing, but only when she’s alone. She gets embarrassed if she’s caught.

-Aside from his stuffed rabbit (named “Hurry”, BTW) Al seems to have a fondness for stuffed animals in general. The older Boos in the Ghost House usually bring any old, abandoned stuffed animals they find back to him.

-Ibooki is very much a reasonable authority figure. While she’s willing to tolerate a LOT of mischief amongst her family (most of them ARE Boos, after all), Ibooki knows when to make them apologize for going too far with their antics.

-Sumi has an almost encyclopedic knowledge on which wild plants in the Mushroom Kingdom are edible, and which ones require any extra prep to safely eat. She often surprises people by informing them that most Piranha Plant species ARE, in fact, edible, just hard to eat without getting eaten first.
