Loved this hike today. Rattlesnake trail and the Falls of Lana. Beautiful. The upper cliffs are closed for peregrine falcon nesting until August. #latergram #hiking #vermont (at Falls of Lana)

Simple names for surgical operations
-tomy: The surgeon cut something.
-ectomy: The surgeon cut something out.
-ostomy: The surgeon cut something to make a mouth. If one organ is named, the mouth opened to the outside of the patient. If two organs are named, the mouth connected two organs.
-plasty: The surgeon changed the shape of an organ.
-pexy: The surgeon moved the organ to the right place.
-rraphy: The surgeon sewed something up.
-desis: The surgeon made two things stick to one another.
Never believe what you read on the Internet about medicine... My (surgeon) husband did that thing where he rattled off a list of corrections but then said "Forget it, this is close enough, even though it's wrong."
South Hero, doll heads, cows on my run, Lake George, Crown Point, summer blooms, and finally, kitten time -- the best time.
This festival's been on my radar for a while ever since moving to Vermont and is better than a lot of other big North American festivals, with the added advantage of being 100 minutes away. Dunno when the lineup came out, but I've seen about 50% of the ones I want to see...still gonna renew my passport in time. (Passport's been expired for a couple of months - this is pretty much a cardinal sin in my family.)
lol
2013: the best year ever
- got married - went to Costa Rica - started feeling more comfortable with work - bought our little house - brought home our furry feline child - learned enough about snowboarding to be able to work with it as a winter sport - squatted 200 pounds, jerked 105
2014 resolutions - have more sex with my husband (had to be said) - be ever more efficient with billable time vs. time spent at work - break 100 pounds on all Olympic lifts - trail run more (mostly because it’s fun) - cultivate hobbies other than sports - make more friends
Closing 2013 out with a busy day ahead but feeling pretty content. I asked an admin at work how she was doing yesterday and she started laughing and said it was because I was always so happy. Beats being a grumpasaur, I think.
Plans for the night involve leaving work, going to the gym, and getting in my jammies at 8:30. Ahhh...
My husband made me my very own snow cat!!!!!! :)
The perfect Christmas: snowboarding in the morning, afternoon Chinese lunch buffet to cure homesickness, a cute movie at night and Duvel and creme brûlée for dinner. Merry merry.
This is the best thing I have seen in my life.
