My unnecessary fandom take is I have extremely strong opinions on substances and the use thereof by my blorbos. Like do I need to be so particular about the smoking habits of 1pc characters? No. Am I? Yes.
Sanji will smoke anything with nicotine. Shorts, slims, menthols, vapes, fuck he'd even hit somebody's discarded butt straight from the ashtray. He's too busy staving off the shakes to be picky.
Zoro only smokes when he's drinking with Sanji. A hit here and there, especially when he's trying to fuck later. He thinks it tastes really fucking bad, but its hot when Sanji does it. Or when he "helps" Zoro take a drag.
Robin social smoker elitism. She loves offering a hand rolled cig to someone she's about to interrogate (without them even knowing btw), and sometimes she'll partake with Sanji. She always laughs when he's surprised by her mixed herb rolls. Definitely refuses to let Chopper see her smoking.
Nami tried it a few times, realized how much money it would cost to keep the habit going, and quit cold turkey. Every time she thinks about smoking again she remembers the splitting headaches she got while quitting and gags.
Luffy doesn't smoke but he thinks it looks so cool. Might take it up when he's a lot older and can afford cigars. He looks like he'd be a cigar guy.
Usopp says he's got smoke-will-kill-me-itis. He just doesn't like the burning feeling. (Took one drag and literally coughed up a lung. Never touched another cig.)
Jinbe smokes loose leaf for SURE. But only occasionally, and he likes the process of cleaning his pipe more than actually smoking.
Brook used to smoke but now he just likes being next to people who are smoking. He says its to keep them company but he misses the feeling sometimes. It used to calm his nerves.
Franky does NOT smoke. But he also gets deliriously horny at the sight of his beloved Robin smoking, so he doesn't say a goddamn word against it. She's so elegant and weird with it how is he supposed to be normal??
Chopper would rather buy a gun.
