Home. Iām writing this from bed, nursing a half-sleeping teething angel that stirs and starts kicking if I move even an inch. I want to go brush my teeth but Iām lying here, waiting for a deeper level of sleep to arrive so I can move her tiny little legs that are resting on mine. I love her so much it hurts.
Iām tired. In a good way. We had an amazing retreat group here and I poured myself into them and now I feel like I always do after having taught 10+ yoga classes in five days and cried my heart out while listening to the bravery of beautiful people: tired. Tired, but full. My cup is full. We are going through a lot at the studio, within our team, and also globally. Getting structured and clearing out and preparing for big growth. I feel like we are pulling back the arrow, trying to hold the bow steady. I have some difficult decisions to make. But not right now. Right nowā¦ Iām going to sleep. I probably wonāt brush my teeth. Luna reaches for me now. She sees me coming and lifts up her chubby little arms, smiling, asking to be picked up. My heart makes tiny leaps of āI-canāt-believe-she-is-realā-ness every time I see her. She is just so perfect. And I am so lucky.
I donāt know what I wanted to say with this post. I havenāt shared in a while. I think I just wanted to say hišš¼ #goodnight (at Island Yoga)

The only time I ever told you I wanted to leave, before the yelling, before the who-the-fuck-are-you-talking-to and you-fucked-everything-up and this-could-have-been-good-if-it-wasn't-for-you, before the crying, before the leaving, before the coming back and the I'm-so-sorry-I-love-you-so-much and you-hurt-me-because-you-are-so-fucked-up and we-are-supposed-to-be-a-family and you-don't-even-care-but-i-love-you-more-than-anyone-else-ever-will, before the finally letting me sleep right on the brink of sunrise, before all of it you told me, "promise me you will tell the truth about what happened because we both know that you lie" you were right about the lying: i lied when i told my family i was happy and how much fun i was having, i lied when i said how kind you were, when i made up excuses about why i didn't answer the phone anymore, or why i didn't have a job yet, or why i couldn't come back to visit them anytime soon. 48 hours after that night, I boarded a red eye flight and left you, but i remembered your request, and just like you asked, I won't be telling lies for you anymore and I will only speak the truth.
