WHO IS THE MONSTROUS TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING WHO CONTROLS THIS HEART CRUSHING BLOG??!?!?
you mean me? aw shucks anon~
John, try as he might, began to tear up at Luka’s words. They began to run down his face, feeling surprised and relieved at such an offer. He thought, at the most, that the red head would know of a nice family who would tolerate his presence more than those Score fanatics. But he never even dreamed that Luka would offer her own family.
He quite suddenly clung to her, his arms only barely able to reach her waist, hugging Luka tightly as the tears ran freely down his face. He stayed like that, mumbling ‘thank yous’ over and over until he finally calmed down and the tears stopped. He looked up at Luka, eyes still a bit watery, and gave a shy smile. “W-would this mean…you’d be my big sis?”
Luka’s eyes widened when he suddenly clung to her, gently petting his back to try and calm him down, as she had not expected this reaction out of him. The boy was simply too sweet for his own good.
She smiled down at him. “If you’ll let me be.” she answered.
She hadn’t expected him to take her offer, he said he forgave her, but to be so thrilled at joining her family had taken the red haired woman by surprise. Although, it would be nice to have someone around that she could talk to as much as she wanted.
The Akzeriuth boy gave a watery giggle and gave his hug a little squeeze. "Of course big Sis~ We're gonna be family! I look after you and you look after me okay?" he rubbed away the tears from his face with a hand. He was still keeping himself latched to Luka, afraid if he let go that it would all be some dream and he would wake up alone in the woods again.
John fidgeted with his hat, trying to think of a way to bring up what he wanted to say next. “Um… do you..d-do you know anybody who would uh, be looking to take in a kid like me? That wouldn’t make me feel like some cursed ghost? I-I mean yeah i can take care of myself fine and I don’t need anyone to look after me…” the Akzeriuth boy looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"But I want someone to look after me, I want to be apart of a family again…I-I-” he stumbled over his words, feeling more emotional with every sentence, all the while trying to keep it together and not cry on the spot. He couldn’t help it, every time he saw parents with their kid, he thought back to his own. He missed fishing with his dad, and getting hugs from his mom. He had fooled himself for a while that he could live without that kind of love. Sure he could live, but the loneliness was starting to break the boy down.
Luka couldn’t help but feel guilt gnawing away at her as she watched him, he so desperately wanted a family, one that would except him for who he was and not base their treatment on what he had survived.
"I could bring you in to my home…" she paused. "Father is not around much now and Mother is a frail woman, but all the servants are so nice, and I plan on leaving soon, so having someone around to make Mother smile would be nice. She’s a very loving woman, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind if you came to live with us."
She was basically rambling, she knew it, but she had taken his family from him, like she had done to Asch, but she couldn’t give John his family back like she tried with Asch, but she could give him want he wanted, a new family that would watch over him and show him love and kindness, as they had showed her.
John, try as he might, began to tear up at Luka's words. They began to run down his face, feeling surprised and relieved at such an offer. He thought, at the most, that the red head would know of a nice family who would tolerate his presence more than those Score fanatics. But he never even dreamed that Luka would offer her own family.

"W-would this mean...you'd be my big sis?"
"R-really?" He looked at her, eyes wide. "Is that why they acted so weird? Hm…" He trailed off silent for a while. " A lot of stuff has happened since Akzeriuth huh?" He said with a small smile. "Though, I wish I knew what to do now…"
Luka gave him a small smile. “Yes. A lot has happened since then.” she brushed her hair behind her ear.
She wanted to do something for him but she didn’t know what she could do, she could offer him a room at the manor but would that be alright?
John fidgeted with his hat, trying to think of a way to bring up what he wanted to say next. "Um... do you..d-do you know anybody who would uh, be looking to take in a kid like me? That wouldn't make me feel like some cursed ghost? I-I mean yeah i can take care of myself fine and I don't need anyone to look after me..." the Akzeriuth boy looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed.

John scowled at the other’s attitude. “Sheesh you’re mean. I mean I get you’re worried about your God General buddies but you don’t need to take it out on me.” he huffed and crossed his arms, ears perking when he heard about how dangerous it would be.
"Well duh it’s gunna be dangerous but I can take care of myself y’know! I’m actually super lucky as I should have died a while ago heheh… Let’s just say it takes a lot to kill me, but thank you so much for your concern~" John gave him a cheeky grin. "Besides I may look wimpy but I got my axe pick! All the kids back in town learned to use them when we’re little so I’m tough enough to at the least crack something as hard as a rock!"
Sync let out a heavy sigh as he buried his face in his palm. The kid just wouldn’t take no for an answer. “Fine! Whatever! You can come along! just don’t get in my way.”
He knew he would regret those words as soon as they left his lips, but the kid wouldn’t quit! John would probably follow him even if Sync said no!
John gave a triumphant look and grinned. "You won't regret it Sync, I promise! Now then, onto searching!" the Akzeriuth boy rubbed his chin in thought, pondering the possibilities, already getting down to business. "Well I know less than a rock about your God General buddies so lemme know if I say somethin dumb. But would they have a place they would go to meet up? Like a base or something?"

"Well I know who you are now, though I don’t have a clue what all that other stuff meant" John gave a shrug. "Though it does sound pretty powerful, you must be strong!" he grinned.
"We don’t hafta play if you don’t wanna. You said you need to find the others? I guess the others are God General thingies? I can help look! I was the best at finding people at hide and seek! Friends help other friends when they need it!" the Akzeriuth boy nodded determinedly. "When did you last see em Mister Sync? We can start from there!"
"Aren’t you listening? Scram! You’ll just get in the way!" Sync crossed his arms with a roll of his eyes. This was getting pathetic. The kid couldn’t take a hint. He was more annoying than a herd of Rappigs oinking in the middle of the night. Have you HEARD a herd of oinking rappigs? It’s not something you can just sleep through.
Then again the kid did have a point. Sync had no idea where to look for any of the remaining God Generals. He was the last line of defense before Master Van. Asch HAD to be dead. He at least believed that. Largo had ‘fallen’ at Absorption Gate and Sync had yet to find any sign of the looming giant. Legretta was the first line of Van’s defense when Eldrant fell…and the fact that Luke and company reached Sync did not bode well for the major. Then there was Arietta. He thought she had died in her duel with Anise but she was found alive and well, so Sync held onto hope for his other comrades.
"Not to mention, it’s DANGEROUS. You’ll only get in the way."
John scowled at the other's attitude. "Sheesh you're mean. I mean I get you're worried about your God General buddies but you don't need to take it out on me." he huffed and crossed his arms, ears perking when he heard about how dangerous it would be. Nope. Uh-uh. No way. Sync did not enjoy the idea of someone to pal around with especially a kid. “Listen kid, do you know who I am? I’m Sync, one of the six God General of the Order of Lorelei.” Considering the order was practically falling apart with the world with no score it felt like an empty title. Yet, Sync clung to it.
"I don’t have time to play around with you. I have to go find the others!"
"Well I know who you are now, though I don't have a clue what all that other stuff meant" John gave a shrug. "Though it does sound pretty powerful, you must be strong!" he grinned.
"We don't hafta play if you don't wanna. You said you need to find the others? I guess the others are God General thingies? I can help look! I was the best at finding people at hide and seek! Friends help other friends when they need it!" the Akzeriuth boy nodded determinedly. "When did you last see em Mister Sync? We can start from there!"
Who could say no to those words and that cute puppy-dog face? Certainly not Luke, that’s for sure. Letting a sigh escape past his lips, the red head looked downward at John and nodded. “Fine, just try not to hide behind me too much, okay?”
"Yes!" John grinned and hugged onto Luke, ecstatic that he finally didn’t have to travel alone. "I’ll do everything you say, yessir!" he let go of the older boy "So where are we gunna go?" the Akzeriuth boy asked eagerly, bouncing the heals of his feet.
The younger boy sure was happy over such a little thing, it made the swordsman feel happy that he could make the boy whom he was already feeling a reason to protect. A reason to keep him smiling and not be alone, so he’d do everything in his power to make up for what he did in John’s past. “Well before now I was going to head to Grand Chokmah for a meeting with… Someone.”
"Ooooh Grand Chokmah! I've always wanted to visit there, the pictures in the books make it look so cool!" John got all starry eyed just thinking about it. To others, it may have seemed silly to have such big aspirations just to travel somewhere. But John had never left Akzeriuth and if his Papa had his way, he never would and have grown up to be a miner, much to John's protests. He wanted to see the wonders of the world, be them a mountains of the east, or the beautiful city of Grand Chokmah. John just wanted to see it all.
"I'll behave super well! I'll wait outside or something as you have your meeting thingy!" the child said determined for Luke not to regret his decision in taking him along. Despite not knowing him well from before, if he could tag along with anyone, his decision would have always been the redhead. There was just something about him that made John look up to the other.

Mere minutes had been passing more like hours. Waiting like this felt pointless… Now that he’s actually averted his thoughts, now that he’s actually considered this situation, why he wasting his time on a kid who he didn’t even know when he should be doing other substantial things? He could be fine. He could get up at any time, and then he could leave and continue living as he were. Maybe Asch doesn’t even need to worry.
…. But the doubt’s still there.
And that same doubt tied him down.
The miasma, the chaos that was the moment at Akzeriuth is the reason he can’t believe that previous thought. This child may as well be dead. He was so close to it, anyways. Maybe there wasn’t any hope for him at all. But he had this biting feeling… This small fraction of a feeling… That he may be wrong. Entirely.
In fact, it’s proven that he is. The moment the boy starts to stir, he stands, pressing his palm against his head both to check his temperature and to make sure that he doesn’t strain himself by sitting up. His eyes watch him like a hawk, the seriousness of his demeanor masking the relief that washed over him just beneath the surface, hiding the fact that maybe Asch wasn’t as cold-hearted as one would have thought.
"Good, you’re finally awake," the God-General mutters, preparing a cold rag an setting it across John’s head. "You’d been near death. I’d been thinking that maybe I’d been too late."
The Akzeriuth boy was scared at first, seeing such a scary and imposing person, approaching the bed he lay on, eye's staring him down with such a serious look. When the serious man touched his forehead, John could only look at him in confusion. Asthe man placed the delightfully cool rag against John's head, the boy listened, his confusion ever growing.
"...Wh-what happened? Was ... all of that real?" John mumbled, anxious of the man's answer. "Where am I?..Who are you? Is e-everyone else ok?" his questions went on, rambling tiredly but needing to know everything right then and there. He was too was too scared and wrapped up in previous memories to wait longer than needed.
Who could say no to those words and that cute puppy-dog face? Certainly not Luke, that’s for sure. Letting a sigh escape past his lips, the red head looked downward at John and nodded. “Fine, just try not to hide behind me too much, okay?”
"Yes!" John grinned and hugged onto Luke, ecstatic that he finally didn't have to travel alone. "I'll do everything you say, yessir!" he let go of the older boy "So where are we gunna go?" the Akzeriuth boy asked eagerly, bouncing the heals of his feet.
