Before Astrid could even reach for her handle, Maddie leaned over the center console and tenderly kissed her girl’s cheek. “To the moon and back.” she whispered, pulling away and getting out of the car. Maddie smiled as she ran around to take Astrid’s hand again, “I’m so ready to have this food baby with you.”
Maddie’s smile grew bigger as she leaned back, opening the window when the car started to move. “I felt like I was no one before I found you..” she said honestly. She was an empty shell disguised by a motivation and a big smile; the only choice she had was to keep...

When the car came to a stop, she opened her eyes and pulled her sunglasses back off, turning her head to the sound of her girlfriend’s voice. “I love you too, angel.” she said with a smile, pulling the back of her hand up to her lips.

"Yes we have been through a lot together. Which is funny considering I was feeling like I had no one when you found me." She smiled, kissing her girl’s knuckles gently before starting the car and pulling out of the driveway. "And you are quite lucky I can drive with one hand."
Maddie's smile grew bigger as she leaned back, opening the window when the car started to move. "I felt like I was no one before I found you.." she said honestly. She was an empty shell disguised by a motivation and a big smile; the only choice she had was to keep going, but she saw no stopping point. "Good, because you're not allowed to let go."
Astrid rolled her eyes and walked to the car to unlock it. “Maddie you just turned into a five year old at the mention of snow and winter. You’ve been training me for emotional since I met you.” She smiled before opening her door and getting in.
Maddie laughed as she got into the car, pulling her sunglasses from the glovebox and sliding them on. "We've been through a lot together, haven't we?" she mulled a bit, but not in a bad way. Astrid had made her so much stronger than she used to be, and all the shit they've been through only made her that much more thankful for their relationship. She reached over and took her girlfriend's hand again, tenderly swiping her thumb across her soft skin.
Astrid laughed as she watched her girlfriend turn into a little girl again. Clearly the girl had never been in snow. “Yes snow is a good reason to go winter shopping.” She chuckled, following her and sticking her hands in her back pockets as she walked. “Maddie it’s the common cold. Either way, yes I have a good doctor. She’s a family friend.”
"Hey, you don't know that! It could be a common cold." Maddie got up and hurried out the door, pulling one of Astrid's hands out of her pocket to hold it instead. "You know, my aunt is coming to see us off tomorrow. It's probably gonna be really fucking emotional, so like, just be prepared."
Astrid was in the middle of getting ready when she noticed Maddie had gone quiet. Turning around, she chuckled a little and wrapped her arms around her and pulled her in. “Aw baby you look freaking adorable right now. Yes you are going to see snow.” She grinned.
"I love you. I'm so excited.." she whispered again, hugging Astrid tightly. After pulling away, Maddie wiped her eyes and started to blabber as she practically bounced down out of the room, moving backwards in front of her girlfriend so she didn't have to break eye contact. "What do you do in the snow, other than throw snowballs? Ooh! And build snowmen! How cold is it? Like, as cold as one of my ice baths? That's really cold. But I'm pretty used to those, you know, even though I'm just a little thing." She still wouldn't stop talking, even after cautiously going down the stairs and sitting on the floor to lace up her boots. "You have to dress really warm, right? I don't have a lot of warm clothes. We have to go shopping! Those big puffy coats are called winter coats, right? I need one of those. And boots!! I have to buy warm boots! Oh my god, I love shopping for boots. I'm gonna buy way too many--and gloves and hats and stuff. Is it true that if you don't dress warm enough you get a cold? Or pneumonia?? Do you have a good doctor there? I don't have a very strong immune system.."

Astrid laughed when her girl’s hand connected with her ass. Shaking her head but nodding a few second later,”Yeah of course. But in New York, you’ll get use to the winters and instead you’ll be looking forward to bundling up by the fire and having intense hot sex to keep warm.” She teased.
As soon as Astrid said 'winter', Maddie stopped in her tracks, her voice softening as her jaw slowly dropped. "I'm…I'm finally gonna see snow.." she whispered, covering her mouth with her hand. She'd almost forgotten about the difference in weather, and ever since seeing The Nutcracker for the first time, even dancing the part of Clara as a young girl, Maddie had always dreamed of the snow, and it hurt her heart knowing it was something she couldn't experience, until now. She probably looked ridiculous to Astrid getting so emotional over weather, but it made her so unbelievably excited, she didn't know what else to do with the feeling.
"You’re such a perv. Not those kind of plans ew." She crinkled her nose before grinning and pushing Maddie off her lap to stand up. "And I can’t tell you cause it’s a surprise." She stuck her tongue out at her.
Maddie screamed as Astrid shoved her off her lap, laying flat on her back and poking her with her toe. “Wait, but I am getting birthday sex, right? I mean, it’s kind of an ancient custom, y’know?” she said with a wink, jumping up onto her feet and smacking her girl’s ass. “Can weeeeee…get pizza and ice cream and spend the day at the beach? I know we do that a lot, but I think it’s what I’m gonna miss the most..”

And so am I. We made it, Mads, we fuckin’ made it.
We've been through a lot of shit; together and separately. But I knew we'd come out the other side okay. [she smiled and lovingly kissed Raven's forehead] I've been waiting for this day for a…really fucking long time.
