Draco stifles a rather heavy sigh. “— My good breeding is begging me to lie,” He tells the other honestly; because what’s the point in hiding his sorrow? The last week has been utterly hell-like and undoubtedly Phaedra knows it. “Though, I’m exhausted to the point of collapsing, starving, however, I don’t think I could stomach a single bite. Too paranoid for my own good…” With that, he trails off. Despite himself, he allows a small smile to grace his lips. “You’ll have to forgive me, there hasn’t been much time to write,” Draco adds somewhat jokingly.

Her stance softened into something more like comfort, a smile tugging at her lips. “Well thank Merlin that we can sometimes ignore our good breeding.” It was refreshing to hear him talk frankly, even if it wasn’t about pleasant things. “I’m sorry that you’re not in a good place.” She tilted her head. “Do you want to talk? It’s—” she shook her head. “It’s no pressure, if you don’t. I’m sure I’m overstepping, I just thought... well, maybe you needed to talk.” She returned the small smile, her eyes warm. “And don’t worry. I forgive you for not writing. I didn’t either, after all.”

Only hours had passed since Toby had gotten to the safehouse before he was made aware that Phaedra was in there too. He was relieved to know that, relieved to know she was safe. Several months has passed since the day they had tried to run from his father and hers, since the day their plans had failed spectacularly only to have his mother grab his hand and disapparate before Phaedra’s father could shoot a curse at him. She had been screaming for him to run, to save himself, but nothing would have stopped him from running right to her if it hadn’t been for his mother. And the image of her in the grips of a man who had shown nothing but cruelty all her life and him having to leave her there haunted him every day.

And since then he had never seen her. His mother had forbidden him from going and finding her and when he refused she went as far as telling him that his return would only make things worse than he already had for her – and he would have argued if he didn’t know deep down that she was completely right. He had caused enough trouble for her – he didn’t need to cause more. But not a day had passed without him wondering how she was. And to find that she was here – which in turn meant she was indeed safe was to have that long standing nightmare of her suffering in the hands of her father finally come to an end.

It didn’t take long before he found from some of the others in the castle where her room was and he made his way to find her. Her door was left open and she was on her bed, reading, unaware that he was standing by the door. Her concentration was on the book she held in her hand. He stood there for a few seconds not saying a word, merely watching her, letting the reality of the situation settle on him. After so many tries to gain freedom together, they were both finally free – her of her father, and him of his own, and they were together here. It seemed, somehow, everything had worked out just fine even though it had taken a lot more time and a lot more suffering than he would have liked, even though it was in a way he hadn’t expected.

“I didn’t think I’d see you here.” he said quietly when he couldn’t simply stand there any longer. He had to let her know of his presence – he had been overwhelmed by relief and happiness when he had found out she was here but now he was worried if she really wanted to see him. After all, he had been a reason for her father to have made her life so much more miserable than it had to be. He had left her when she was in his grips and he didn’t know how much she had to suffer because of him. “I can’t tell you how glad I am to see you, Phae.” His words were true but laced with cautiousness – he didn’t know if he would be able to take it if he found that she had begun to hate him in the many months he had stayed away from her.

She was curled up in her bed, reading a book she’d gotten in the marketplace a few days ago. It was a blessing that English was so widely accepted, as she barely knew any German at all, and reading in it would have been right out. But luckily there was a little bookstore that had a decently-sized English-language section, so she’d been able to pick up some reading material to replace the ones she’d already blown through since she’d been at the safe house. Reading had always been an escape for her, and while she didn’t mind reading the same thing over and over, it was far better to have something new to lose herself in for a few hours.

The night was quiet, and she’d left her door open. It wasn’t that she didn’t want company, so she hadn’t wanted to close it. If someone wanted to stop by, they were more than welcome to. She just wasn’t quite feeling up to going out and seeking it. Her book would be enough, if no one decided to drop by. It was engrossing enough that she didn’t even notice when a figure showed up in her doorway, not until he spoke and she heard a voice that she hadn’t heard for months. A voice she hadn’t been expecting to hear again any time soon.

In an instant, she was back there, telling him to run, trying to get between him and her father. The desperate look in his eyes, the all-consuming fear that he wasn’t listening to her, that he wasn’t going to leave and she’d have to watch her father kill him, the numbing relief once his mother pulled him out of there that had carried her through her father’s subsequent rage. Whatever her father might do to her, she hadn’t cared, because Toby was safe. He wasn’t touching him, and in the end she’d always known that no matter how much her father might hurt her, she could endure it. He wouldn’t ever damage her permanently. He needed her, or his lineage ended.

And now he was here. Her book was lying on the floor, abandoned, because she’d already run to meet him, without even thinking about it. “Toby. You’re here. I’m—” she bit her lip, trying not to let her emotions get the best of her. “I’m so glad to see you, too.” She’d missed him terribly for the long months that they’d been parted, hoping that he was well, that he hadn’t been suffering at the hand of his own nightmare of a father. “Are you—” she looked up at him, her eyes wide. “Are you really here?”

Draco nods, though unfortunately he can’t say much more, given that Astoria and himself hadn’t spoken much as of late. “Somewhere, I’m sure. Undoubtedly searching out the library, or meandering the gardens,” He returns easily enough; barely managing to withhold a shrug – Phadera’s presence reminding him of his pureblood manners. A gentleman did not shrug, even in the most convenient of circumstances. Draco sighs then. “I’m positive she’ll be pleased to hear of your presence, as well,” He assures the brunette. Given their circumstances, it was difficult to determine whom they would have the pleasure of seeing once more; especially after the sudden displacement.

“As pleased as I am to hear of hers, I’m sure,” she said, her speech falling into a more formal cadence in response to his own, though she wasn’t even conscious of it. “I’ve missed her.” She hesitated, then decided there was no harm in continuing. “I’ve missed the rest of you as well.” She tilted her head, trying to lose a bit of the formality. “How have you been, Draco? I’ve heard so little of any of you.” First with her father’s stifling restrictions after she graduated and before he was arrested, then with being here, she felt completely out of the loop with those who had once been friends.

The feeling of failure, hopelessness and guilt still lingered – it didn’t seem like he would be able to let go of it any time soon. But he knew that with time he would come to live normally, accept that there was nothing he could have done to stop what had happened and there was nothing he could do to fix it now. And while he hated how helpless that sounded even in his head, he knew he would learn to live with it. Just like he had done when his sister had been taken from him. He survived, he always did, and this time he would too. He had to think like that – he couldn’t afford to think that this mess of a person that he had become is what he would continue to be forever.

He woke up with a start early that morning, with Thalia in his mind, the feeling of hopelessness enveloping him yet again. He sat up quickly, running his fingers through his hair in frustration – Astoria was fast asleep beside him, he remembered her telling him to wake her up if he wanted to get outside. But she was sleeping peacefully and he didn’t wish to wake her just yet. He dressed and wrote a note about going down to the kitchens so as not to worry her, placed it on her bedside table and pressed a light kiss to her forehead before stepping out of their room and making his way to the kitchens.

He was alone as he fried some bacon and eggs, sipping occasionally at the cup of coffee he had just brewed. He had forced himself to avoid thinking of what made him feel upset and instead focusing on the lighter things, like how he was engaged to Astoria and how he had to buy her a ring soon. He was startled when Phaedra spoke, he hadn’t expected company at such an early hour – he merely turned around to see who it was before turning back to the stove again, not that he minded the girl’s presence. He knew from Astoria that she was one of those who had been in the castle before they had arrived and he knew she was her best friend. He did recognize her too – she was someone he had met a fair few times when he had been dating Astoria back at school. And he knew for all the trouble and pain he was putting Astoria through after losing Thalia, this girl was there to help her. And he was grateful for that.

“I am alright.” he shrugged. “Well, I wasn’t able to sleep and it seemed like a good time to have the kitchen to myself, not have people hover around when I cook.” he said before realizing how it could be interpreted. He hadn’t mean that she being there was an inconvenience – Phaedra was Ria’s Thalia and in his mind, she was already a friend. “Not that I mind you being here.” he corrected himself, turning to her again with an apologetic smile. “Just that I am not really in the mood to deal with huge groups of people right now.”

For a moment, she did take that to mean that she was intruding. She’d long become oversensitive to that sort of thing, growing up in the atmosphere she did, and it was hard to turn off the vigilance. Even once danger had passed, it was hard to make herself feel it, so old coping mechanisms kept slipping through. The reassurance, though, eased her mind, and she returned his smile. “I hadn’t slept much either, so at least you’re not alone.”

She understood the desire to not deal with crowds. She rarely enjoyed being in large groups. It was so much information to take in—how everyone was reacting to her and to each other, what she should be doing in response, and gods forbid there were people with differing opinions and she had to try to walk that fine line where you could appease one without offending the other. It had never been relaxing to her, like it was to some, to be in huge groups, everyone mingling. Not that she preferred to be alone—that was often difficult for different reasons. Really, she just liked small groups, or just one other person at a time, even.

“I’m not either, if I’m being honest. In the mood for a lot of people, I mean.” Usually she wouldn’t admit such a thing, worried about the propriety of it all, but there was quite a bit of trust extended to Theo on the credit of Astoria’s opinion of him. “I’m glad you don’t mind my company, though.” She’d obtained her water by now, and was contemplating whether she actually wanted anything to eat. She wasn’t really that hungry; preparing food would more give her something to do than anything else.

The best thing about the castle was that no one seemed to notice how little she slept. There was always someone else up, at any time of the day. It was probably a bit cruel of her to see that as a benefit—everyone seemed to be having trouble sleeping because of the threat of war, because of what happened to Thalia, because of what could happen to them. But she still found it nice that when she headed down to the kitchen far too early one day, there was someone else there, already making food before she’d even walked in.

She was only a little hesitant as she snuck in behind him. If it wasn’t someone she was on good terms with, she could always just stick to the perimeter, grab a snack, and slip back out. But that plan didn’t need to be put into place. It was Theo, who was... well. He was marrying her best friend, and Phaedra trusted Astoria’s judgement far more than she would ever trust her own, so that meant that there was a pretty sizable amount of goodwill towards Theo.

“Good morning,” she said softly as she moved past him to get herself a glass of water. “It appears I’m not the only one up so early.” Starting conversations had always been hard for her—she ended up feeling awkward, and berating herself that if someone wanted to talk to her they would, and she should just stay silent until then. But she knew that voice sounded a little bit too much like her father, and that meant that it was likely a lie, like everything else he’d ever told her. “How are you this morning?”

The morning sun was finally rising over the horizon as Sonnie watched it through the trees. The chaos from new people entering the castle had left her with a sleepless night. Even with long corridors and many floors of this castle it seemed suddenly so cramped in the castle. With no warning the ministry had dropped more people in, right after they had broken the news that Death Eaters had compromised the other safe house location. If there was a mole in the house there was only a matter of time until it would happen here. So Sonnie was on edge to say the least.

To calm that edge, Sonnie was leaning up against a cool castle wall her lips wrapped around a lit cigarette. She let the smoke fill her lungs and seep out between parted lips. When she heard footsteps crunching the grass near her, she reached up pulling the cigarette from her lips. “If you’re here to tell me how bad smoking is for me, I know. Please do not lecture me.” The blonde hissed out, her eyes still trained onto the horizon. “But if you want one – here.” With a swift movement she pulled he pack out from her pocket and held them out towards the other in offering.

She hadn’t really slept. The nightmares had become less frequent as she got older, but the recent news had ended that reprieve. So she’d sat up with a book and a candle after the third failed attempt at sleep, until getting restless enough to slip out of her room and go wandering around the castle. That at least should be safe enough. Or... well, if they could get into the castle, they could get into her room too, so it was all relative. She might as well get outside and take a walk.

She hadn’t expected anyone else to be up, but when she saw that the person in the distance was Sonnie, she’d deviated, walking over towards her, wanting to know what she thought about all the new guests. “No lectures,” she said softly, taking the pack and staring at it for a moment. She’d never smoked before, having had it impressed on her how ‘unladylike’ it was, but now... she looked up at the girl who’d become a friend in their time at the castle. “What does it feel like? Smoking, I mean.” She’d never considered it before, but with everything going on, a small part of her wanted to do something impulsive, before the sudden influx of people she'd known from her youth made her even less apt to deviate from tradition.

“Oh, darling, you didn’t know?” she asked, a sympathetic frown gracing her lips. Pansy placed her hands on her hips. “Well, they came in the middle of the night–the Death Eaters that is and Thalia got caught. So, they kidnapped her, and who knows how long she’ll make it,” she said with a shrug, glancing at her nails. “Then we had to move here.”

A flood of emotions washed through her. There was the fear that this was just as real as the Ministry seemed to fear, the disappointment that their actions hadn’t done as much as they’d hoped to curtail any casualties, and then the bitter acceptance that of course they hadn’t. Why would they. These were all her father’s friends, in all likelihood. She knew first hand how formidable they could be. “I’m so sorry,” she said, the words a rote response, her hollow tone belying the fear fluttering inside her. “That must have been awful. Poor Thalia.” And the rest of them, too, to have come so close.

Although they’d never spoken much, Phaedra at the very least understood Draco’s previous lifestyle — while the castle was not nearly decorated to taste, at the very least it was opulent in size. Although both knew well that had either of their parents had any say in the matter, far more tasteful accommodations would be made. Though he supposes that’s all in the past now. “And yourself,” Draco returns politely; their pureblood upbringings forbidding anything but the best even in the most stressful of times. “—- Have you reacquainted with anyone else?” Draco asks finally. “I do believe the Greengrass’ are about somewhere. As well as Pansy and Theo.”

Her eyes lit up at the mention of her best friend. “Astoria’s here?” she asked, the happiness evident. She’d missed her friend, and the prospect of seeing her again was almost overwhelming. Phaedra had a habit of keeping to herself—a product of her upbringing, stemming mostly from a brutal combination of her father’s conditioning and her own resulting trust issues. Astoria was on of the few people she’d been close to back at Hogwarts. “I haven’t seen any of them yet, no. You’re the first I’ve come across.” Not that she’d really been looking. The urge to be polite and welcoming was often overpowered by her natural tendency towards timidity. “It’ll be so lovely to have you here, though.”

Colin furrowed his brows for a moment. He couldn’t remember if the ministry had told him there were other safe houses, and if there were why couldn’t they leave him in healing for longer before dropping him off. However he could get upset later about it, he didn’t need to get frustrated at this moment. He was frazzled enough as it is. “They didn’t give us too much information either, I doubt anyone here knew that there were people hiding out in here too.” He felt a little bad now, barging in on their home like this. He knew that if the tables had turned he wouldn’t be too happy, but the girl in front of him seemed nice enough. “Oh! I think we were in the same year. I was a Gryffindor, you were –” He paused thinking it over for half a second, “Slytherin? We had potions together right?” Colin was sure he had a picture of her somewhere. Hell, he has pictures of almost everyone in his year. “Colin Creevey.” He smiled a little. “Thank you for the warm welcome, I’m glad we didn’t disturb you too much.”

“At least we’re all equally in the dark then.” It was a bit comforting, to know that things weren’t being kept just from her, but from all of them. She’d wondered, at times, whether that might be the case—that they weren’t telling the Yaxley girl as much because they didn’t fully trust her. She’d understand it were that the case. Or, well... she’d be used to it at least. Being viewed as just her father’s daughter wasn’t a new experience. “I was in Slytherin, yes.” She smiled at him, glad for how friendly he was being. “And we did have Potions.” That had been her favorite class most years, mostly because she’d had a talent for it. “I remember you always had a camera with you, no?” She hoped she had that right. “You don’t have to worry about disturbing us. It’s not like you had a choice. Or well...” she shrugged. “I suppose I shouldn’t speak for everyone here, but as far as I’m concerned, please don’t trouble yourself on my behalf.”

“Scotland,” Draco replies without hesitation, his expression grim as he informs the other of their previous whereabouts. “The highlands, more specifically. For about … two and a half months; though it seemed entirely longer.” With that, he spares a look about. “— Though I have to say, your accommodations are far less quaint than our meager cottage,” Draco goes onto observe. “I suppose they planned on moving us all in eventually.” A look of sadness crosses his features. “— I wish we were meeting again under better circumstances.”

“I’m glad that you’ve been upgraded, then. It would be far more disheartening to have it happen in reverse.” The castle was rather nice, even for a girl who had been raised in such luxury that it bordered on opulent at times. Her family had never had simple tastes. Everything had to be impressive. “I’m sure we can spare the room. It’ll be nice to have a familiar face around.” She smiled tentatively, never quite sure of herself with people. “Even if it isn’t the best circumstances, it is a pleasure to see you again.” Draco’d had quite the reputation back at Hogwarts, but she’d tended to think fondly of him, wishing they could be closer friends, even if her shyness had kept her from being as close as she might have been if she’d been bolder.

Pansy gave her a look, “I could have been German…really?” she couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re adorable, it’s almost charming,” she said, giving Phaedra a once over. She let out a dramatic sigh, “Unfortunately, I’m stuck in this place too. They didn’t tell you more of us would be coming? How odd. I suppose they didn’t tell you one of ours probably got brutally murdered and that’s why we’re here.”

Her eyes widened at that little tidbit of information. “I’m sorry, one of... what?” It shouldn’t surprise her. Things had been ramping up for a bit now, and she’d lived through the war after all. she’d known people who’d ended up dead. She’d seen people be murdered in front of her. Still, there was shock on her face. “What happened?” she asked, sympathy and disbelief in her voice.

Draco continues to flash the other an incredulous look – although, despite himself, softens upon her seemingly sincere apology. “Yes, well,” He quips shortly in return; shoulders sagging somewhat as he allows himself a pensive huff. It’d been quite a long journey. “If it’s any consolation, we hadn’t intended to intrude,” Draco informs the other. “—- Though I suppose you’ll forgive us seeing as we hadn’t a say in the matter, either.” With that, he fixes Phaedra with a question look. “How long have the lot of you been in this location?” He questions. It hadn’t occurred to him that perhaps there were other safe houses other than their own.

She smiled softly. “I don’t imagine that any of us have much of a say in current matters.” She wasn’t really used to having a say in anything, so she hadn’t been that unwilling when the Ministry had suggested this. She’d been raised to not question authority, but to be demure and obedient. “It’s not exactly shocking that you didn’t expect to be here,” she shrugged. “We haven’t been here that long. A few weeks. Though I think a few might have been here longer than I was.” She hadn’t known that many of the people here, though she got to know a few. It was almost nice to see a familiar face. “Were you somewhere else before, or—?”

Pansy was exploring the mansion when she stumbled upon another person. Ig she was forced to live in this retched place, she’d at least learn it inside and out so she would embarrass herself by getting lost. The dark haired girl raised an eyebrow when the other girl started speaking. “Oh, no, darling. I was taking a stroll and happened to find myself in this dilapidated castle on accident,” she deadpanned, rolling her eyes. “Of course, the Ministry put me here. As if I would willingly live somewhere that looks this hideous on the inside.”

“Sorry, I didn’t—” she stumbled over her words, unsure. “You could have been—” she sighed. “German,” she finished, barely audible. Because they were in Germany. But of course that was a silly thought. “I didn’t recognize you at first. They didn’t tell us more people were coming.” She recognized the girl now, of course. Pansy had been a year above her at Hogwarts—a firestorm of a girl, someone who’d always unsettled Phaedra because she was so very opposite of herself. “You’re stuck here too then?” she asked, trying for levity.

The stranger had caught Colin off guard. He had known everyone in the house or thought he did. He had in fact, taken a photo of every person in this house and this girl would be found now where in any of his albums. Colin took a step back, his injured leg dragging along with hit. His fear crawled up into his his throat, but he pushed it away as her words seemed to filled in a few gaps in their timeline. “Ah – yes.” He reached up to gently scratch at the back of his neck, as he slowly bent down to drop his trunk next to him. He hadn’t quite picked a room yet, trying to find one close to the main halls knowing he couldn’t travel far with his leg. “They’ve just moved all of us, here. Did you just get here as well? – I wasn’t aware they had other safe houses.”

She shook her head. “No, there’s a few of us that have been here for a little while.” They hadn’t been expecting more, but then given the size of the castle it made sense. There was room for more, so that at least wouldn’t be an issue. “No one told us you were coming, though. There seems to be quite a group of you.” She vaguely recognized him from Hogwarts—they were in the same year, she was pretty sure, but he hadn’t been in her House. Or if he had, she was being awful, because she didn’t quite remember his name. “I think you were in my year at Hogwarts?” she asked, tentatively. “I’m Phaedra.” She omitted the last name, not wanting the connection to her father. She hated seeing the look in people’s eyes when they thought of him. And her name wasn’t that common, anyway. “Welcome to the castle. Maybe it’ll be nice to have some new faces.”

Draco pins the other with a scathing look. What sort of joke was she playing at? “Did the —” He begins to repeat, only to scoff incredelously in the next moment as he shakes his head angrily. “Have you fallen and taken leave of your senses?” He goes onto question, his tone purely acidic as he prompts the other to speak up and explain herself. “Or perhaps you’ve lost yourself completely in the years we’ve been apart?”

“I didn’t—” she bit her lip, trying not to take a step back. “I’m sorry, I... I didn’t want to assume.” She hadn’t recognized him until she’d gotten closer. Her teeth dug into the inside of her lip a bit more, holding back the apologies that threatened to spill forth. “They didn’t tell us that anyone else was coming, and now you’re just— here.” Maybe he was right, though, about losing herself. Though that would of course imply that she’d ever found herself to begin with. She wasn’t really sure that was the case. Part of her wanted to ask why they were there, but she wasn't sure if he would be open to explaining.

There were so many more people here now. The castle was so large that she’d felt mostly alone, but then there’d been commotion and shouting and the population had to have more than doubled. She’d gone to investigate with quiet footsteps, wandering through the hallways of the castle. It might be nice to have more people around, frankly. She’d found herself getting lost in her thoughts far too much, and that was never good. She could do with a distraction. It didn’t take long before she found someone else in the hall, and she stepped forward, her usual shyness overtaken by curiosity about who had joined her here. “Hello? Did the Ministry place you here as well?” She shook her head inwardly, berating herself for assuming that the newcomers were also British. They might be from a completely separate country, for all she knew. “The British Ministry, I mean.”

SO! I might write up a more formal biography later, but I wanted to get this out so I can plot more easily with all you lovely people, and I’ve been playing this muse for awhile in different incarnations, so I have a pretty solid base for her. So without any further ado, this is my bby Phaedra. (tw for implied child abuse)

Phaedra Grace Yaxley is the only child of Corbin Yaxley. Her mother died very shortly after she was born, so she doesn’t have any memories of her. She only knows what she’s seen in portraits.

Her father wanted a little warrior. He was slightly disappointed to have a daughter rather than a son, but he’d seen enough women be formidable over the years to know that being a woman doesn’t necessarily mean being weak. He doesn’t think all women are weak, just Phaedra.

Because what he got was a daughter who was empathetic, compassionate, gentle, and sensitive. She never took to any of his lessons in dark magic, just crying at the idea of hurting someone, with no talent at all for combative magic.

He tried for years to force her to be fiercer, but then he gave up. If she couldn’t be a warrior, she’d be the perfect wife for one, some day. So instead so was raised to be the consummate Pureblood Lady.

She tends to show that, especially when she’s stressed. She’ll follow a more formal protocol and have perfect cultured manners, trying not to make any slips. Those were always punished harshly.

Hogwarts was a haven. It was more relaxed there, away from her father’s critical eye. She was a bit surprised to be sorted into Slytherin, but she was also deeply relieved. (She’d feared she’d go to Hufflepuff and disappoint her father, but Phaedra’s a Slytherin through and through. It takes just as much cunning to play the part of a Lady, perhaps even more, because everything is subtle changes in wording and careful curtsies.)

Her best subjects were always Potions and Herbology, though Astronomy was also a favorite. She has a talent for healing, though she tends to be more instinctual with it. She learned it young, so in a twist from what’s usual it’s easier for her to do it wordless and wandless than it is for her to do it in the traditional manner.

She hated when the Death Eaters took over the school. She mostly managed to keep her head down and fly under the radar, but with the takeover of the Ministry, her father had been made Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, so some people were rather unhappy with his actions. A few of them thought to bring that up with his daughter, not knowing that the girl was just as displeased as they were, and was just too afraid to say anything that might get back to her father.

(Deep down, she hates him as much as she fears him. She knows he isn’t a good man, and she never liked him or any of his friends. No one really knew what to say at school when they realized her boggart was of her father, and she didn’t really want to talk about it. For so long she was trained to keep up appearances, to be seen and not heard and only speak when spoken to that she didn’t know how to tell anyone how cruel her father could be, even if she did trust someone enough with the secret)

Her father is in Azkaban, sent there after the Battle of Hogwarts. Some people might have expected her to be angry about that, but truthfully she’s relieved. He can’t hurt anyone if he’s locked away, and if she had her way he’d stay there forever.

Going back to Hogwarts for her seventh year after the Battle was strange. She felt a new freedom, now that the Death Eaters were gone, but it’s hard to break habits overnight. She’s still shy and timid, though with her friends she’s loyal, loving, and affectionate. She can take time to open up to people. often expecting the worst, but once they earn her trust she’s a friend for life.

She’s also got an obscene amount of money, due to the fact that she was her father’s only heir. She’s a bit naive about this, not really knowing what to do with it all. (Not that there’s much of a cause to spend it when they’re sequestered away in Germany).

Being at the safehouse is a strange experience but she didn’t truly fight it. Her biggest question, in the back of her mind, was why the Ministry was bothering to protect the daughter of such a notorious Death Eater, but the instinct to do as she’s told was greater than the urge to ask too many questions.
