She squints in silence, lips pursed with disdain. Yeah, he definitely wasn’t ok. There’s no explanation. He’s rushing her along. This isn’t the Jacob Black that she knew--- if she knew him at all. Angel ignored the intrusive thought. The youngest Lahote wasn’t going anywhere, not if she could help it.

“Uh huh. Well, you know me--- I’ve never really gotten sick before, so I think I’ll be just fine.” A beat--- “I think I’m gonna stay here for a while. Y’know, hang out a bit.”

She’s taken notice of his absence--- in school, around the Res. Jake’s presence had been missing in general, and Angel didn’t like it, nor did she understand it. Even now as he greeted her, something was off about him.

“You uh, you haven’t been around much--- you ok?”
