Luna looked at her twin seeing how he was taking the news before deciding on if she would tell them anymore. “When he was done he discarded us like we were trash.” She stated looking down at the blanket as if she was thinking they were trash because of it. “I could tell something wasn’t completely right with you but even still you were more worried about me when the lady came to help us.” She thought back to the moment that the nice lady came to help them and Levi, tried his best to put her focus on Luna. “Even though you were suffering brain damage you still looked after me.”

At her words Levi looked down as if he was trying to remember if what she was saying was true. “Really?” He questioned her as he brought his gaze back up to her. “You’re a hero, Levi.” Laser said to help his brother not feel bad about not remembering the events. “N-no, I—i’m not.” He responded to Laser. “Sh-shouldn’t have happened.” He pushed himself away from the bed and started trying to find the exit to leave them all alone. “Levi Alexander, you are. Don’t leave.” Victoria said hoping it was enough to keep her son calm and in the room.

Luna was proud of how hard Levi was working she couldn’t deny that he still had milestones to make but it was amazing how far he had come since waking up. “At first you didn’t even know I was there with you. We were kept in separate rooms but I knew,” She started closing her eyes for a second before continuing. “ I could hear your screams and once he knew that I knew he had you he made us a room to be together forced us to watch as he took turns torturing each of us.” She let out a sharp exhale looking at him, tears visible in her eyes as she continued talking about it. “I watched as he cut your skin and you screamed so loud and in turn you were forced to watch him tie me up and leave me dangling from the ceiling as he poured wax on my stomach.” She closed her eyes again and Victoria had to cover her mouth to keep from sobbing out loud at the details her daughter was giving. “He cut you he punched you and the whole time you kept telling him to leave me alone. You kept wanting him to hurt you and not me and I was trying to do the same for you,Levi.”

Levi shook his head as his sister talked he couldn’t remember any of this. “I—” he started looking at her, “N-no.” He swallowed hard as he looked at her how couldn’t he remember someone hurting his best friend granted he didn’t halfway remember her but he knew that they were brother and sister and that they were twins; the staff at the hospital had to tell him that when he woke up. “I’d rem-remember something like th-that.” Would he? Honestly he didn’t know anymore. He continued to look to her for more answers to the gaps in his memory. “Wh-what else?” He questioned her hoping she would continue on.

Luna sighed at her brothers she knew this was frustrating for Levi. “You’re good, Lev. I’m sorry.” It was her turn to apologize for what was happening. She knew it wasn’t her fault but she also wasn’t helping the situation. “You’ll remember eventually.” She looked at the corner of the room she hated that she was trapped looking in one place. She needed a change and soon; she hoped that she could leave this place behind her soon and never look back. “Why don’t we talk about something else?” Victoria suggested looking at her children. She didn’t want either of them any more upset than they already were. “N-no, mommy, I-I can try and do it.” She thought about it and he did have a right to now what happened. “He has a right and I remember it all.” She brought her gaze back to her twin he looked so small as his head searched for answers she was withholding.

Levi tried his best to focus on the talking that was going on around him as if he wasn’t there. He was now the fragile little one that had brain damage and had to work twice as hard as his siblings to do simple things. “I’m not..” He started losing his train of thought before looking to his sister, “Fragile, Luns. Brain damaged yes fragile no.” He smiled a lopsided smile mainly due to his partial paralysis due to his TBI but he was proud that he managed to get it out. “You’ve got to be proud of yourself,Lev, that’s the most you’ve said lately.” Laser patted his brother’s shoulder to cheer him on. “Very proud.” He was told that he would get function back but still have trouble with everyday tasks and still search for words and that would probably never go away. “So, Luna, please help me.” He placed his good sides hand on the bed for her to grab his hand as a peace offering; guidance into starting the process of healing together.

Luna flinched slightly as her brother ran his chair into the bed pinching her fingers against the bed. She hated that she couldn’t move well and the fact that his demeanor was completely changed now. Old Levi would never do any of what he was currently doing; they all had to learn how to take new Levi. “That really hurt.” Luna said before their brother managed to wheel him out of the room for a small break. “Mommy, I can’t tell him about him screaming at Pryce to stay away from me..that it was him he wanted.” She started before she had to stop. “I can’t hurt him more than he already is.” Victoria grabbed her daughter’s hand gently to tell her she was safe now and that she didn’t have to talk to anyone but her therapist. When Laser thought they had enough time apart he wheeled Levi back in. “Levi, you have to understand I’m not ready to talk about it especially with you.” She stated, looking at her twin.

Once Laser had wheeled him out of the room Levi settled slightly. “Bud, you can’t push Luns, you’ll end up hurting both of you if you do that.” Laser offered Levi some advice. “I just want to—fuck what’s the word?” He said looking back at his brother for help. “Remember?” Laser offered up and he understood where his little brother was coming from but maybe right now it was best he didn’t. “ Let’s just go back and try and listen to what Luns has to say, alright?” He had moved so that he was in front of Levi eye level. “Oh okay.” He nodded lightly at the thought of listening to his twin. “She’s hurt, right?” He questioned Laser and Laser nodded a bit before he moved to wheel him back in the room. He looked at their sister and attempted to listen to her words though it was hard to focus. “I just want to—fuck I forgot it again.” He said looking to Laser for help again. “He wants to remember but I told him he needed to listen to you.” He offered their sister looking between the two of them. “I’m trying. I just can’t fo-focus.”

Luna was glad to see her parents come in the room she didn’t want to make her twin upset and she didn’t want to get upset reliving the horrible month they were in captivity of the man who had damaged them so badly. “Levi wants to know why we’re here mommy.” She admitted trying her best to hide her thoughts, she was currently in therapy for PTSD she was sure he had it too on top of his brain injury. “I don’t wanna talk about it.” She finally said looking at him. She could see so much confusion written on his face. “Oh,honey.” Victoria said wishing she could pull her daughter in an embrace. She knew that her children would never be normal again or feel as safe as they used to. “You’re all right my loves.” She assured them looking to their father and her loving husband for reassurance. Emerson nodded at her to acknowledge that they were. “C-can’t tell.” Luna so desperately wanted to shake her head at the thought. She almost dared say that Levi was lucky he couldn’t remember much of what happened to them. She wished she could forget the terror of hearing each other scream in pain.

At this Levi couldn’t contain his emotions as to why his sister wouldn’t tell him why they were at the hospital. “Why?” He said slightly louder than what he should have questioned it. He had somehow managed to push the chair up to her bed his wheel catching her fingers at the edge of the bed. “Levi Alexander, it’s okay just calm down.” Victoria tried her best to keep her son from completely going over the edge. His emotions were hard to determine right now. “Why?” He questioned again maybe a part of him hoping he would get an answer. “Levi, come with me, bud.” Laser offered to take his brother out of the room for a bit so the twins could have a break from each other. He knew what would happen if Levi kept pushing their sister they would all end up hurt all over again. “N-No.” He told Laser but the older of the two started pushing the chair out of the room.

Luna chewed on her lip as he answered her question asking some of his own with it. She offered him a small smile; the only one she could pull off without hurting herself. “That’s his name and yes he’s coming.” She stated softly. “Hey, Lev, don’t be sorry. You didn’t do this and you certainly didn’t ask for this.” She swallowed looking at him. She hoped she wasn’t upsetting him more by her words. “It also isn’t your fault we’re here, okay?” She didn’t know what he remembered and that made her heart hurt more. She had to carefully pick her words and that wasn’t how the two of them were ever around each other. She hoped they would get back to how they used to be with the talks they had but a part of her knew it wouldn’t ever be the same after this.

A small nod was given from Levi as his sister gave him the answer that he was correct on their brother’s name. “W-why are we he—here?” He questioned her looking at her to fill in the blanks of his mind. He couldn’t remember much of what happened and he wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not the nurses acted like it was. “Don’t lie.” He said as his parents walked in with their brother. “What are you two talking about?” Victoria asked her children as she walked in to the room bring in fresh flowers to decorate the room.

While Luna should have technically been discharged well before her twin she had some minor complications that had extended her stay. She reached for her brother’s hand awkwardly through her halo brace. “Looking good, little bro.” She said through her teeth the wire holding her jaw together only let her mouth go so far. She had been warned about Levi’s brain injury and she wished she could have been more of a cheerleader for him. “You’ll be outta here before you know it.” She was trying to keep the conversation upbeat for the both of them. “You will be too,Luna.” Levi’s PT nurse said with a smile. “You both have come a long way in a short time.” Luna tried to smile at the lady as they helped the teen boy in his wheelchair. “We’ll come back in a bit, call us if either of you need a break.” She stated wheeling Levi a bit closer before the two therapists left giving the teens time alone. “Been outside lately?” She asked him trying to take her questions slowly so he understood what she was asking him. “Mom and dad will be around later we should all have dinner together.” She tried to remain as normal as possible.

At the mention of them being left alone and to call if either needed anything Levi nodded slightly. “N-no outside.” Levi replied to her question once he registered she had asked him something. His gaze fell to the floor trying his best to keep focused on his sister’s words. He was almost sure he was told that he could have trouble with focusing now. “Is Laser, coming too? That’s his name, right?” He questioned her still looking down at the floor. He wanted to go back to how he was before he was already noticing the changes when he was around his sister. “S-s-sorry,Luns.” He brought his gaze up to meet hers now and saw what he thought was a hurt look but he couldn’t be entirely sure anymore.

Therapy. Lots of Therapy was all Levi knew now. Physical therapy,speech therapy and then of course regular therapy to make sure he wasn’t depressed about what he was going through. Honestly he didn’t even remember most of what happened due to the severe brain injury he had sustained thanks to the man who had made them move once before. “How are we today,Levi?” His physical therapist asked him when she walked into the room. “O-ok.” He said simply he had gained a few words back; mostly simple ones after being in his coma for three weeks. “Good. Ready to go for a walk?” At this he didn’t really feel like it but he knew that he wasn’t really given an option if he wanted to get back home. “N-n—yes.” She offered Levi a smile, “let’s go see,Luna, yeah?” She suggested grabbing the walker for the teen already having his belt around his waist and his afos around his ankles. “Luns.” He said simply as she helped him get up from his bed. Luna had been in pretty much the same situation but Levi didn’t remember that. “Remember nice and slow and if we need a break tell me.” She said having another member of the pt team walk behind them with a wheelchair. They walked for what felt like ages to the teen. “Luns. L-Luns.” He repeated once they entered her room.
