Hans Hoffmann (Nuremberg 1545-1591 Prague), A hare among plants
this problem isn’t that men “misread” signals (and even verbal statements), it’s that men are unwilling to accept what’s being communicated, because it’d mean they won’t get what they want–and they value getting what they want more than they value their partner’s comfort, safety, and desires. this is a matter of will and values masquerading as a matter of knowledge and communication. men’s “confusion” is their justification for continuing with what they want to do (and society will accept it too!), so there’s always a motivation to be “confused.” that’s the problem.
Ok so to add to this:
I have on several occasions been told by men that I look “uncomfortable” when they’re talking to me or they’ve said some form of “you look like you dont want to talk to me” and when I confirm their suspicions guess what happens? They CONTINUE to talk to me!!!!!! They will outright admit that they know that I dont want to talk to them and then they continue to push my boundaries and continue to chat with me even if I’m disengaged from the conversation.
They know we’re uncomfortable and they do. not. care.

LISTEN! This drink inspired by Zelda Breath of the Wild is as beautiful as it is delicious. Watch it in action here
What You Need:
For syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 TBL corn syrup
¾ cup water
1 packet strawberry drink mix
To make Fairy Elixir:
Crushed ice, seltzer, half and half or cream, whipped cream, glitter sugar
In a small sauce pot, combine sugar, water and corn syrup. Bring to a boil.
Take off the heat and stir in drink mix. I use strawberry, but you can use any flavor so long as it’s red or pink. Once combined, pour into a mason jar and allow it to come to room temperature. Keep it refrigerated.
To make a Fairy Elixir: fill a tall glass or champagne flute with ice. Drizzle on a few spoonfuls of syrup. Slowly pour on club soda.
Finish with a hit of cream or half and half. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle on sugar if desired. Plunge a straw in to mix and drink immediately.
