I know it sounds fake but you really do have a lot of silent lovers on this planet who look at you and wish they had your smile or your hair color or your humor or your intellect or your intentions or your heart, your manners, your eyes, your ease, even just you. People who are too shy to tell you what they admire about you or what they wish for you or who they see themselves becoming bc of you & they’re too shy to tell you. even tho it isn’t verbalized, the universe has still heard and the universe has loved you for helping out on its creations. You’re that person. You’re you.
Our lives are defined by a million journeys and a million chapters. Every day we begin a million more. We have chapter that we take with us eternally. We have chapters we leave unwritten. We have chapters we toss into the fire to warm us as we journey forward. Every day we begin with a new page, littered with fragments and frays of our past and blank space for our future. We decide if we write in pencil or in pen. We decide if we carry an eraser, an open flame, a handful of water, or a quill to use as tools to allow us to continually move forward. The journeys are ours. The stories are uniquely our own. The destiny is for us to decide. The occasional journey is broken and bleeding and out of our personal control, but we get to determine how that journey will be recorded and remembered and we get to determine how that journey will continue us forward. || Photo by @houseofharvest #wherewomencreate

“There are days or weeks or even months when I read the Bible and there are no grand epiphanies. There are whole seasons of Sundays when I sing praise and feel nothing. There are times of prayer where the silence kills me. There are great Christian books and podcasts that I eat up which don’t budge my spiritual life. There are too many times when I doubt the very existence of God and the sending of His Son. It can all feel like a crazy lie. I’m probably being too honest — but I’ve found that I’m not the only one who feels this way. It’s in those times that I ask myself, “Am I out of love with God somehow? Am I losing my faith here? How do I get back to where I used to be?” But I keep reading my Bible. I keep singing on Sundays. I keep praying. I soak in books and sermons. I serve. I enjoy the company of mature Christians. I enjoy the fellowship of the broken. And you know what? Sometimes the clouds part and God comes through and His love squeezes my heart and I fall to my knees remembering how good He is. Then I read Scripture and can’t stop weeping and I turn on Christian songs in my car full blast and sing loud enough to scare the traffic. I serve with shaking hands and get convicted by those sermons and soak in God’s goodness all over again. So I’ve learned over time: I wasn’t really out of love with God. I’m just a fragile human being who changes as much as the weather. I was setting a ridiculous standard for myself that can’t be defined by self-pressuring parameters. I was tricked by the enemy into judging my flesh. My faith is based on His grace and not my feelings. And I think I need to relax.”

Keep reading the Bible. Keep worshiping. Keep praying.
Wahoo Today is my Birthday!!
So here I am smiling outdoors.
God has been so freakin evident in my life, and here is how I’ve seen him this past year.
1. I began medical school this past July (craziness)
2. I had to take a medical leave because I was in a car accident, and suffered from traumatic brain injury. I’m still recovering, but am almost back to normal!
3. Because of this medical leave, I’ve been able to pursue photography and have turned it into a small business. It’s so freakin cool to be able to relate to God as an artist + enhance my relationship with him through creating.
4. I recently ended my year of intentional singleness/no hanging out with guys. And God has been working on my heart and is showing me what it looks like to have brother sister kind of relationships and how to be intentional in this.
5. God has been highlighting this one boy in church, who I can imagine myself dating + marrying. Like he has a heart for the underserved community + for missions. He loves adventures + running + is going to Bible college + loves working out. And he is so my type. But something to pray about. And something to trust God with.
6. God has brought several forever friends this past year...maybe 5? Which I am so freakin thankful for!!!
So God is so freakin good, and 21 was a blast!! We’ll see where 22 takes me!
Hello you beautiful people you. This is me in my element: the outdoors, Patagonia, hyped on life, friends (missing from this photo) and flowers. Just several things that make me happy. What makes you happy? I seriously wanna be bfffffffffffs. Hehehe comment below! (at Angelus Oaks, California)
