"It’s still not a— Oh, forget it." Short groan, it was whispered beneath those lips when she took running start towards the oddity about her city. If Barret was there, if Cid was there, oh someone had to make the joke. "Guess our sewer system is getting out of hand, huh?" There you go folks, she had to make a punchline somewhere. And apparently here with the shell and unusual skin color, it had to be here. Whether the quirky circumstances were getting to her or she was relenting to years of bad puns and terrible engrish dialogue she’s been a part of, the world may never know.

However, the barmaid knew that if things continued the way they did, she might very well have no one to discuss this with at the end. So the leather gloves squeezed and fingers curled, tennis shoes dug unto the concrete pathway so she could get better friction in her jump.

Suddenly, every muscle in Mario body shutdown. He could no longer move and the timing couldn't have been worse. He was now on the face of a giant, ferocious turtle with no way to move about. This was probably the worse predicament he had ever come across. He only prayed he had an extra life.

The turtle tossed the heroic plumber with ease away from his face and released a thunderous roar. Mario landed on the ground besides Tifa, a audible thud could be heard from the impact. "Mama mia.. my-a muscles.. they won't-a move." He coughed, the excruciating pain almost unbearable to withstand. "It's almost as-a though.. some-a-one came up with a pun. My-a one true weakness.." Soon floods of tears and mucus traveled out of Mario's eyes and nostrils respectively. "Why-a the puns of-a all times, Tofu?! Who would-a be such a heartless person to-a say or think of-a puns!"

Waiting for what felt like months, Mario had long since begun to play video games. “Uhh… sorry, what did-a you say? I am-a playing Pokemon.”

A shrill voice rang out. The red breegull popped out, and snatches Mario’s Game Boy. Kazooie went too long without playing a single video game, and by god, she’s going to enjoy it. Plus, it’s been months since she even saw one.

"{Really? You picked Bulbasaur as your starter? You are laaaaame.}"

Mario's eyes widened as the feathered fiend snatched away his percious 3DS from right out of his gloved grasp. Mario was not going to have any of this nonsense. Not while he was attempting to evolve his Pokemon. Slowly getting to his feet, the heroic plumber glared at the bear's companion. No emotion was expressed on his person.

"If-a you don't give-a that back.. I will-a make chicken soup out of-a you, birdy."

Felicia wore a wide grin after seeing the picture. Handing it back, she then responded by producing her phone and tapping a few buttons. “Here, check this out.” It was, of course, a picture of Mario himself. Straight from one of the countless video games that seemed to feature the same guy.

"See that? It looks like you came in through one hell of a pipe. I’ll keep my lips sealed to spare you, but don’t be surprised if people come rushing when they see you being all real and stuff.”

As if unhinging his jaw, he stared at the photo, mouth agape due to the sight. How did she get such a photo of him that he didn't even recall having been taken? Furthermore, why did he look so pixelated?! What was the mean of this? Did this make him an self-ignorant celebrity?!

"Black-a Cat... ho--.. Mam mia... WHAT?!" He could form a whole coherent sentence at the moment. His mind felt as though it had exploded. Perhaps this was all a dream. He pinched himself, causing him to flinch in reaction to the pain. Not, he was awake. "What do-a I do..?!"

If she knew the Dark Knight from the story?

What would it be his reaction once she would tell him that he was her husband? She couldn’t lie but, at the same time, she didn’t want to upset him. As she clasped her hands together, she glanced at the red plumber and her smile immediately faded from her lips. She didn’t know why her smile was gone all of a sudden… They were talking about her husband, the love of her life, the man she was proud of… So why not smile? They were also speaking of events that belonged to the past and it was nice to forget. What would be his expression once he would know that the Dark Knight from the story was her husband and the King of Baron? … Unless… "I knew him, of course, and I loved him. He was gentle and kind and even though he wore a dark armor, his heart was pure. He never meant to hurt, but he couldn’t disobey to King’s orders which he was forced to accomplish. But he decided to change his life and to abandon the darkness once and for all, adopting faith in light and, then, becoming a Paladin. He’s now the King of Baron and my husband.”

If she would say that the Dark Knight was her husband without mentioning that he became a Paladin, she could imagine his reaction: a Dark Knight, who once burned a village, as a Kin?! That was crazy…

Mario eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets at her response. He would have never guessed that the mage was married to the Dark Knight of her stories. This news was completely fascinating to him. He had no idea how to react. For some odd reason, he was just extremely happy for the woman.

There were so many other questions he wished to asked. Like, how did they meet? How did they fall for one another? Where was he at this very moment? All that and more raced around his head. He managed to refrain, however. He didn't want to bombard the woman with swarms of questions just yet.

Clearly his throat, Mario finally responded. "That is-a amazing! To-a think, you are-a married to such a strong person. I bet all the ladies are-a so jealous of-a you, right?" He smirked, giving the mage a light nudge to her side.
