teaching zanka how to kiss! zanka x reader!!!
"so you've really never kissed anyone before?"
—zanka's not sure how the conversation with you had evolved into this. all he knew was that you and him had gotten locked in a room in some abandoned building and there was still about an hour left until help arrived, and your chatter just kept getting more and more preposterous as time went on
"g-god, you don't have to say it like that! i'm busy, ya'know...and it ain't like i even wanna waste my time with all that romance stuff..." he mumbles, ears tinged pink and a clear indicator that he was lying—the way his eyes bounce from your eyes to your lips only supporting the fact. you giggle, terrible endeared by your teammate as you offer zanka a smile that sends his heart racing.
"sure, sure, but don't you wanna at least try it? who knows, maybe you'll like it! i can teach you how to kiss if you want." you offer, and you watch zanka's eyes widen a fraction before he huffs, avoiding your gaze.
it doesn't help that the room you're trapped in is so small—cardboard boxes filled with supplies cover the majority of it, and you and zanka are forced to sit across from each other on the ground, face to face. your legs are spread out and relaxed while he sits as stiff as a board, unable to meet your gaze
"i... you shouldn't make jokes about that." zanka says weakly. he likes you so much—and here you are, making jokes about kissing him and having his organs feel like they were seconds away from failing. his hands clench tightly into fists as he tries to calm his erratic heartbeat, but then you scoot closer, tipping your face upwards to meet his. a small sound of surprise leaves his mouth when your hand bumps against his own
"won't you indulge me, zanka? pretty please? i'm so bored, locked in this room with nothing to do!" you pout, bottom lip jutted out and just begging for a kiss. zanka's hand is positively trembling by now, and it seems to have a mind of its own as it rises and reaches out to gently touch your cheek
his fingers are slender and calloused, and the sensation of them against your cheekbone sends a jolt through your body. you try to hide your giddiness and fail, a stupidly sweet smile coming over your face when he leans an inch closer
"j-just this once, you can teach me," he says softly, and your hand comes up to cover his and adjust his hold. zanka's heart flutters when you move close enough that the tip of your nose brushes his own, and soon enough, you're pressing your mouth against his.
zanka's frozen for a second—two seconds, three seconds, and then he's melting. he can't stop himself from reaching out to cradle your face with an impossibly tender hold, and you giggle against his mouth as you kiss him harder. his hands curl suddenly around your form as he brings you closer, and moments later when zanka finally does pull away, he's flushed and breathless beyond belief.
he clamps his mouth shut afterwards, touching his lips as if he were still in disbelief before shaking his head and hiding his face in the crook of your shoulder
"oh god," he whines, utterly wrecked as his fingers dig into your skin, a vain attempt to anchor himself.
you're feeling worked up yourself and take a moment to bask in the soft silence of the moment before zanka lifts his face from your shoulder, brows pinched in a small furrow
"you said you'd teach me how to kiss."
"then who did you kiss before me? who taught you?"
the words come out strained and frustrated, because zanka was having trouble stomaching the fact that someone else got to kiss you before he did. someone else was lucky enough to feel your soft touch against them before he got the chance—and in that moment, he is disgustingly jealous of someone he doesn't even know.
"huh? well, i never said i've actually kissed anyone before." you shrug, and it takes zanka a moment to process your words before he audibly gasps
"wha—how were you supposed to teach me something you've never even done yourself?!" he sputters in disbelief as you throw your head back with a laugh
"you're funny! also, who said i can't?!"
zanka is so stunned by your logic that he can only let his head fall back against the wall behind him, mouth gaping like a fish as you offer him an impish grin
"anyway, i don't wanna just be your first kiss! i wanna be your second and third one too, so..."
"you're trouble." zanka finally grumbles, but even with the guarded gleam in his eyes, he tilts his head every so slightly down for you so you have easier access to his lips to kiss him once more
